Christmas is close, 🎄 we've had minus temperatures for a wee while, and the darker days and sunset by 4pm is with us.

Let Undead Becky continue to bore and annoy us! Let nasty Theo continue to infuriate us! Let the potential child grooming storylines shock us! Let Carl Chuckle Brother continue to shag anything with a pulse! (And hopefully dump Abi!) AND let's get ready for Christmaaaaaaaaaas!!!!!! 🎅❄🎄

Exactly. Why did Lisa and Becky put the tree up in Carla and Lisa’s house? So much disrespect

@JewelleryCat

And without Betsy?

Yes to this too. ^ How dare Becky just waltz in to Carla and Lisa's home and do this? It's bad enough that she is constantly appearing (and staying too!) But to do something like put up the Christmas tree (a lovely, warm, intimate, personal, family thing) without Carla there was a horrible thing to do. And yes, without Betsy too. She may be 18 (I think) but she is still the child in the family. (Obviously Lisa needs calling into question about this too, as she let it happen.) Why on earth did they do it not only without Carla, but also without Betsy?!

I say I think Betsy is 18, as there's some confusion. She was introduced as a 16 year old in June 2024, but turned 18 in September 2025, so her age is a bit ambiguous.

.

Edited

Why is Betsy's age ambiguous?
If she was 16 when she came to Corrie in June 24, she turned 17 in September '24 and 18 September '25.

Unlike the twins who were born the same year as my DS IIRC but are now a year older than him.

Thank you so much.
What was really powerful last night was that the feeling of fear felt unusual ... it used to be permanent, it was my normal. To watch last night's episode and be able to recognise that fear as abnormal shows me how far I have come and how much life has improved.

Sending love and blessings and good vibes to you @AAudreyHorne 😘

Hope you have a lovely Christmas. 🤗And a very prosperous 2026! 🍷

Oh yeah of course. Thank you. Smile I had a bad night's sleep, and hadn't been up long when I posted that! That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. 😆

@HaddyAbrams sorry, which twins? (Still a bit fatigued here!) 😬

Perfect excuse in my mind, my maths is often wonky so I thought maybe I was wrong!

The twins are Aadi and Asha.

Although she does seem to regress in age

Currently she seems about seven

zanahoria · 29/11/2025 14:26

It has just occurred to me that Jake and Joseph are cousins but never seem to talk to each other despite being similar age, not even seen Joseph for yonks.

Aadi and Asha are the only twins I can think of

ETA Steve and Andy are also twins.

Ah-ha, of course. Asha and Aadi. Thank you! Smile

I think you're right about Betsy Lamb though. She was 16 in Mid 2024 when she came into Corrie, and was 17 in November 2024, and 18 in November 2025.

I never thought of that! Cousins who lived on the same street would surely be pretty close. And yeah, where is Jorzif?!

I guess he is off with his posh mates at Oakhill

Granny money bags did not have enough money bags to send Jake there

Shellingbynight · 29/11/2025 15:49

James is annoying. The foam roller scene felt so forced.
The Theo and Todd scenes are well played but I don’t want to watch Todd being tortured. It's also far too close to Geoff and Yasmeen, do they think our memories are that short?

I usually like Dev (for all his ridiculousness) but his behaviour with Asha is so annoying - barging in on her meet up with her friends. @SabreIsMyFave yes Summer had been rushing around, probably didn't have time to eat, her blood sugar fell so they gave her orange juice.

And Debbie has given Carl the password. End of Debbie's fortune.

Only one positive last night - Carla has left Swain.

Best thing I’ve read on here for a long time - glad you’re doing well & wishing you a very merry & peaceful Christmas.

Middlemarch123 · 29/11/2025 16:00

Just watched last night’s. Anyone else willing Todd to tell the nurse the truth? She knew, just needed him to say it. So frustrating to watch this, hope he gets strength and chucks him out. Think Sarah, George and Kit will help him.

And, Peter Barlow, we and Carla need you. We can’t take much more of simpering Swales and boring Becky.

zanahoria · 29/11/2025 16:07

The Geoff and Yasmin story developed over a few years, the Todd and Theo stuff has only been about six months and we have had all the stuff about his ex-wife, his kids, conversion therapy, Noah dying etc. There have been some chilling scenes but it feels far too hurried.

Shellingbynight · 29/11/2025 16:30

Yes I agree, they cram too much into every plot now. Theo should have eased into the role of abuser gradually like Charlie Stubbs. Instead he had several different issues thrown at him within weeks.

Same with Swain. One melodrama ends, the next begins. They throttle the life out of characters (not that she was any good to start with).

I'd love to see Peter return but if Chris Gascoigne has any sense he will keep well away!

zanahoria · 29/11/2025 20:11

There are too many characters who show up just play the role of a villain and it is getting tedious especially when existing characters are so easily taken in by them. Theo has lied to Todd since the first time they met and has continued to lie but Todd fell for it every time. Same when Joel showed up, he lied again and again to DeeDee but she fell for it hook line and sinker.

Shellingbynight · 30/11/2025 08:42

Each one is worse than the last. I thought Uncle Steven was bad but at least we knew him (and it was so bad it was good). Then Joel, Theo, Becky. And none of it is given any time to breathe, they just plunge in and get straight on with the villaining.

eggandonion · 30/11/2025 09:18

Im waiting to discover where Eva's family got their money from. Mrs Doyle had enough to buy a pub...how? They definitely have a dodgy past.

AmusedMaker · 30/11/2025 09:27

Oh I really liked uncle Steven, he was hilarious 😆
Not sure why they bring in so many baddies and dive straight in?

maybe viewing habits have changed and people dip in and out more often than before?

Theo is revolting but he is playing the part very well, I’m now getting vibes of whatever happened to baby Jane ( if anyone knows that Bette Davis film ) he’ll be serving poor Todd dead rats soon.

Shellingbynight · 30/11/2025 10:32

I loved that film!

Uncle Steven at least knew how to camp it up and give us a laugh, the current lot are just so miserable.

Middlemarch123 · 30/11/2025 11:33

I know I’m repeating myself from weeks ago, but it needs to be more character led, like the old days when it was good. We don’t need loads of baddies at once, just characters we can believe in. And they need to introduce a new character and let them slowly develop on the side lines before giving them plots that are too involved. We can’t care about the story if we don’t care about the character!

And I’m clutching at straws here, but Carla mentioned ‘when I was with Peter’ the other night, and this is a device often used in soaps, dropping in an old name before they reappear. So I’m staying optimistic that at least he might return, good actor who can handle the script he’s given. Unlike so many of the current cast, who are not in the same acting league of the old Corrie cast.

Shellingbynight · 30/11/2025 11:40

The problem is that they would bring Peter back with a dark secret and he'd end up killing someone in the ginnel within a fortnight.😧
