Has anyone watched this (UK). I'm dying to...if you have, how? Is it as good as I think it will be?

I also really want to watch this! It doesn’t seem to be showing anywhere in the UK unless I’m missing something?

macaroni234 · 04/11/2025 19:31

I watched it. It’s brilliant. My partner works in an ER and says it’s the most accurate hospital drama he’s ever watched. Better than the original ER. Noah Wyle is great. Apparently it’s not coming to the UK until 26 when they launch MaxUK. I watched it via a VPN

leakycauldron · 04/11/2025 19:47

I watched a few episodes on a a plane to the states in the summer. I am a massive lover of ER so was excited for to watch it but was disappointed.
Think I watched 3 episodes and not much happened! Each episode is one hour of the day so one series is one shift!!
I might give it another go once it comes out in the UK but won't rush!

Rocknrollstar · 05/11/2025 14:06

I believe we are getting it in the UK in January

afaloren · 05/11/2025 14:09

We watched it in probably quite a dodgy way and adored it. My friend who is a doctor says it’s the most medically accurate show she’s ever seen. I love Noah Wyle.

Needmorelego · 05/11/2025 14:14

I started the two threads - the one linked above which has spoilers and one that was asking how to watch it.
Basically I ended up buying a brand new DVD release (seems to be a Canadian edition) from eBay for about £15.
It is BRILLIANT.
If you still have a DVD player or similar just get the DVD. Don't wait for January 😂

Derpytiger · 05/11/2025 14:24

It's amazing.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 13/04/2026 19:04

i am finding it a bit boring

MrsLargeEmbodied · 13/04/2026 19:05

i mean i quite enjoy it
but it is quite slow.

MrsCarmelaSoprano · 13/04/2026 20:04

It's on HBO Sky if you have it. I'm about to start it but spending a lot of time in hospitals at the moment so might wait a while.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 13/04/2026 20:38

its on NOW TV

ThinkingAbout2026 · 13/04/2026 20:40

I also thought it was bloody slow, it is decent but I've seen better medical shows.

mondaytosunday · 13/04/2026 20:49

I’m watching. The ads are really annoying - it breaks up the whole point of it being one continuous shift in the ER. But I’m enjoying Noah Wylie - feel I was there at there at start of his career in ER! It’s decent, not the groundbreaking show it’s purported to be though.

jay55 · 13/04/2026 20:54

I watched the first couple of episodes while on holiday and it bored me. Does it get good later? From all the gushing reviews I expected more.

RedRiverShore6 · 13/04/2026 20:56

I enjoyed it but it was over hyped a bit. I didn’t feel the need to rush through it. Finished series one but haven’t started two yet. Noah Wylie was good so I looked what else he had been in apart from ER and found a sci fi series on Netflix I shall watch called Falling Skies

StasisMom · 13/04/2026 20:58

I’m really enjoying it, I'm interested in the characters although I don’t necessarily like them all. The actress who plays Dr Collins is sooooo beautiful.

Falling skies is a bit silly. Thr aliens are very unbelievable!

Am assuming Noah isn’t playing Carter again?…

MrsLargeEmbodied · 18/04/2026 05:41

actually i am on episode 14 and it has upped the pace so I am enjoying it a lot more now

eleanorwish · 18/04/2026 07:07

I think the original idea was for a sequel to ER, focused on Carter, but they couldn’t come to an agreement with the estate of Michael Crichton (creator of ER)

Era · 18/04/2026 07:09

I’m in about episode's 8. It’s exactly the same as every other US medical drama. No idea what the hype is about. It’s quite dull so far.

Falling skies is very old so be prepared to think “I’ve seen all this in alien/disaster programmes before”. At the time it was quite good.

I finally stayed watching it a couple of days ago and i respectfully disagree. I can see why many medics say that it’s the most realistic medical drama on TV. The one hour in a day format lets it focus on the minutiae. Sometimes that’s dull, sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes funny. I’m four episodes in and I think I’ve cried four times already!
There are many things about it that I love. One of them is how the social worker is portrayed in such a positive and supportive light. This is so different to every other medical drama I remember.

keepswimming38 · 18/04/2026 09:22

I watched it but found it annoying as a nurse. It was chaotic and just made me want to organise them. DH loves it.
