I like it as easy watching and a drama possible romance with murder and mystery

all on a Friday night

Anna Samson's Mackenzie getting close with her ex and forensic pathologist Glenn (Tai Hara), after the first season's finale ended on a major cliffhanger for the former couple's romantic prospects.

The moment in question saw Glenn confess to Frankie the Dog that he was still in love with his former fiancée Mack, despite his engagement to Andrea Demetriades's Daisy. What he didn't realise was that Mack heard the whole thing.

What will Mack do - she obv still has feelings for him ………

It has been revealed that Colin will be helping to organise Glenn's stag do, making it hard for Mack in her attempts to ignore the upcoming wedding.

The rest of the central cast from season 1, including Demetriades as Daisy, Catherine McClements as Philomena, Celia Ireland as Reggie and Aaron L McGrath as Felix, will all be returning, as will Death in Paradise (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/death-in-paradise-season-15-release-date/) favourite Ardal O'Hanlon.

As in season 1, O'Hanlon will be reprising his role as DI Jack Mooney, the lead of Death in Paradise from seasons 6 to 9, who is now back in London and also happens to be Mackenzie's boss from her time there.

The synopsis for season 2 says: "The team contend with even more perplexing cases this series, including the chemical poisoning of a man alone at sea, alongside having to deal with larger-than-life characters like a troublesome rock band who fall under suspicion when one of their members turns up dead.

Beyond her detective duties, Mackenzie is forced to face Glenn’s shocking confession that he still has feelings for her, despite his impending wedding to Daisy, complicating her own feelings toward him even further.

"Meanwhile, the unexpected arrival of Colin’s old friends from back home starts to crack the mystery behind his decision to leave everything behind and build a new life in the tight-knit community of Dolphin Cove."

We love DiP, one of DS favs. He and DH bailed on Beyond Paradise but I like it. None of us got on with this at all sadly

I hadn't realised it was back on tonight, so thank you for the tip off!!😁

Silverbirchleaf · 31/10/2025 13:31

Thank you for the reminder. I really enjoy ‘Return to Paradise’ and prefer it to ‘Beyond Paradise’ even though Humphrey was one of my favourite detectives on St Marie.

I think it’s because DiP is set in an idyllic (despite the murders) setting and you can suspend belief on some of the dodgy storylines. For the British ones, we know how it all operates, so there’s no escapism (plus the soap storylines).

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/10/2025 15:55

I just like something easy watching on a Friday night

I cant get into this either, despite loving the other two Paradises. We haven't even bothered with season 2 having endured season 1. Something just doesn't gel.

AgapanthusPink · 07/11/2025 23:17

I can’t just get into this either but I find the main actress very off putting. She pulls some really weird unnatural facial expressions. She seems to be totally overacting and it distracts from the storyline. The lead detectives in the other ‘death’ series may be quirky but they have a certain charm. She has none.

unhappybutunsureofwork · 08/11/2025 00:17

We love it - especially as we lived in the ‘Gong’ where a lot of this is set. Love the characters and want to know what happens.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/11/2025 12:56

I love it to. Easy watching

the plot of the song and robin was a little complex

but guess as she was dying anyway

tho her son will be in prison now

I really enjoy it. Easy Friday viewing.

InMySpareTime · 09/11/2025 20:11

She reminds me of the grasshoppers in Bugs Life.
In the “next week” she has her hair up and looks much softer and less socially awkward.

JoeMarlerseyes · 10/11/2025 08:25

I like it. easy watching, It took me a while to realise Mac used to be in home and away. so did Glen.

I really enjoy this, more than Beyond Paradise. Although I don’t like Mack’s character, she seems to have no redeeming features, and I hope she doesn’t get with the lovely Glen.

PersephoneParlormaid · 17/11/2025 08:19

I’ve dropped out of the others and just watch this now. I much prefer it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/11/2025 19:44

I like all 3

Totally agree with this but I will keep watching as I like everything else about it

diddl · 19/11/2025 19:31

I agree that the main actress really spoils it.

As for the will they/won't they.

I hope not!

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/11/2025 21:43

They prob will as we’re before
