Carrying on from the last thread. Smile

Asha took an overdose, as she has been depressed and low, but she's OK (physically.) Recently been attacked by a horrible racist woman who seems to have got away with it thus far!

Brody - Kit's son - is starting to become 'nice,' like (nearly) all the bad kids do!

Tim has just met up with a woman he knew from years ago... An ex flame I think. Sally is not happy!

Jenny has left!

Bethany is back! Lost her journo job. Again!

Todd is still in a bad, toxic relationship with Theo! Lego hair.

Lisa Swain's deceased wife Becky has risen from the grave! Threatening Lisa and Carla's relationship.

Kev's brother Carl enjoys having sex - with anyone really. Abi believes that Carl loves her. He doesn't!

Tyrone's not having a good time lately! He's in a bad way after being hit by a car.

Probably some more stuff going on that I've missed.

They should release a catch up video on the ITV player when characters return

I had forgotten she had been out with Nick and about the Eva-Maria-Aiden love triangle

What was with the weird section in the Rovers when it was candlelit and Northern Lights was playing? It was as if a completely different camera crew had taken over!

Dislike Catherine Tyldesley ever since her SM media post dissing a family bakery for not giving her free cupcakes for her birthday party. Awful woman.

She made a fool of herself there. She was caught out being a bit cheeky, most people were just having a bit of a laugh at a silly story but turns out she did not like being laughed at.

I am a bit mixed about Eva, Her best scenes used to be with Kylie. The Leanne and Toyah sisters at war is tedious enough without shoving another one in there.

Her new family seem to be cliches - the smooth talking rogue of an Irishman and his overbearing mum?

I still do not trust DeeDee's fellah and do not know why she keeps trusting dodgy types. Plus he looks even younger now we have seen his dad

HaddyAbrams · 28/10/2025 10:03

I tried googling Eva's back story. I got so confused. There were so many characters I'd forgotten that half of it didn't make sense .

thenightsky · 28/10/2025 10:05

I always thought Eva and Adam made a good couple with lots of chemistry. Wonder if Adam will have his head turned away from Alya now Eva is back.

ToeJob · 28/10/2025 11:16

It’s very early to judge, but I always liked Eva, and I like the idea of a three-generation family in the Rovers.

I can’t see what they’ll do with Glenda now though. I like Jodie Prenger in the part, but they never give her a sniff of a decent storyline. I was convinced she was going to get conned over the whole Little Big Shots thing, but it never went anywhere.

Deadringer · 28/10/2025 11:24

I always liked Eva, and enjoyed the chat between her Toyah and Leanne. The comments about them all having a go on Nick and it being Toyah's turn now made me laugh.

eggandonion · 28/10/2025 11:27

Glenda could have a relationship with Brian. Where does Brian live? Is he still sorting out Tim and the older woman...if she returns I can't remember what she looks like.
Why is Eva's partner the new Big Jim so he is but his mother seems to have a Wexford accent. I need that explained so I do.

FlibbertyGibbitt · 28/10/2025 12:02

Eva was extremely squarky. The child was a tad irritating, knew Toyah & Leanne but no one had mentioned them 🤷‍♀️

MonickerMonica · 28/10/2025 12:22

@eggandonion

Ah didn't you know that we non Irish folk think that there is only one Irish accent? 🙄

The writers always do this in soaps. Pick a part of the country and everyone speaks the same. Anyone from that Scotland has a Glasgae accent etc.

FlibbertyGibbitt · 28/10/2025 12:33

Annnnnd no mention of Leanne’s son -Oliver (?) scriptwriters forgotten him !

SabreIsMyFave · 28/10/2025 13:25

I did enjoy last night's episode. The line where Maria was going on about Garreh being Mr Magic from The Karate Kid, and he said 'what...??? ' and then said 'that's Mr Miyagi!' 😆

And yes, the bantz between the 3 'sisters' was quite funny too when they were going on about Nick.

Eva's mum (who is also Leanne's (bio) mum was Cindy Beale from Eastenders IIRC. So as has been said, Janice Battersby is Toyah's mum, and Les is Leanne's dad, so even though they grew up together, they are not blood related. But they still grew up together ... But Eva and Toyah are not close at all really, as there's no blood ties, and also they never even met (as far as I know) til they were in their 30s.

Yes, no mention of Oliver ever - Leanne's baby she had (who died.) Steve McDonald was the father wasn't he?

I find Eva's little daughter annoying. But aren't they all when they first come in?!

And I get so irked by Eva's weird laugh! I was glad when she left a few years ago, as we saw the back of that annoying laugh!

I think I'm going to like Eva's mother-in-law, and I do find her husband - Jamie from Shameless UK, a bit of eye candy! Grin

Theo trying to make out his abusive act on Todd was just a laugh.' Hmm

I wonder who is trolling and bullying Urp? Could it be Rooobeh?

All in all a good episode IMO. The dark scene in the pub with Northern Lights by Renaissance was a bit weird though I agee.

Was it Oliver Leanne was speaking to via her laptop when she was being groomed by that awful cult guy?

There's another story that's never mentioned. These are all things that make up people's lives, they can have everlasting effects on a person, sometimes change someone's personality, hell's teeth - maybe even give them a bit of depth, but none of that is within the scriptwriters' capabilities or what the programme makers want, for some reason.

I've got Donna Preston in my ear saying "It's not that deep!".

eggandonion · 28/10/2025 14:25

Oh I forgot about computer head oliver and cult thing. I also forgot Toyah and the cancer. There's way too much drama.
I tried to force my husband to watch the Northern Lights arty thing in case I had accidentally had some drug induced dream from my probiotics.

Housewife2010 · 28/10/2025 14:47

I'd far rather have Glenda as the landlady of the Rovers. Far better than irritating Eva. They should give Glenda a proper storyline. The Eva daughter needs to be sent upstairs to listen to her tapes for a few years.

NebulousSadTimes · 28/10/2025 14:48

I've no idea what that arty thing was meant to signify, if anything🤔

Depth perhaps! 😂

PenguinIce · 28/10/2025 15:13

Do Lauren and Gemma still work at the pub? There’s going to be more staff than customers.

eggandonion · 28/10/2025 15:31

I forgot about Lauren. Maybe Frankeh is having ahead transplant in hospital. Or maybe Lauren has moved close to Max's prison. Poor forgotten Max.
Surely it's time for Shauna to have obstetric problems.

Middlemarch123 · 28/10/2025 21:49

I liked yesterday’s episode, bit like old Corrie. I remember Eva, and thought it was great how she brought Leanne and Toyah back together. But Todd, dead behind the eyes, Theo saying “don’t cry over spilt milk “ and try to minimise his gaslighting. Very upsetting. But overall I think it might be good if they keep sticking to the character led heart of the show, and focus on current characters like Todd regaining their former confidence and standing up and winning against his abuser. Also feel that thirty minute episodes from next year could really work. Currently the hour long episodes feel a bit stretched. A quicker pace might help loads.

TheFifthTellytubby · 29/10/2025 01:26

I know Carla was keen to get rid of the pub, but she's sold it to the woman who played a part in driving her brother to suicide. Maybe she's not aware, as it's the husband who made all the arrangements?
Changing the subject completely... "Keith Harris and Orville!" 😂

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 29/10/2025 01:50

So they all moved into the pub without the money being there to pay for it all.

1reason · 29/10/2025 07:38

No Coronation Street tonight - Wed 29 Oct due to football😡
Looks like its on tomorrow 8pm instead!

Disappointed as was going to watch it early.

Agree
All that shrieking that Eva is back 🙄
Have they forgotten what a schemer she was?
Carla wont be chuffed
Oh God Leanne throwing drinks is just cringe, she's in her 40s , just get over it!
Who thinks Eva will go after Nick again 🙄

Glenda always has the sassy talk about men, loves interfering in her brother's love life but has only ever had a short fling with Michael.

They should put some romance in her life.

Toyah and Eva aren't really sisters...why is she having a talk with Toyah? I can't remember the whole baby Susie thing. I need a family tree with Davina explaining.

À family tree would be perfect!
