Carrying on from the last thread. Smile

Asha took an overdose, as she has been depressed and low, but she's OK (physically.) Recently been attacked by a horrible racist woman who seems to have got away with it thus far!

Brody - Kit's son - is starting to become 'nice,' like (nearly) all the bad kids do!

Tim has just met up with a woman he knew from years ago... An ex flame I think. Sally is not happy!

Jenny has left!

Bethany is back! Lost her journo job. Again!

Todd is still in a bad, toxic relationship with Theo! Lego hair.

Lisa Swain's deceased wife Becky has risen from the grave! Threatening Lisa and Carla's relationship.

Kev's brother Carl enjoys having sex - with anyone really. Abi believes that Carl loves her. He doesn't!

Tyrone's not having a good time lately! He's in a bad way after being hit by a car.

Probably some more stuff going on that I've missed.

it'll be interesting to see how this comes to an end. There should be no closure, it is rarer than hens' teeth for that to happen in RL, no "ha! that'll teach him!", no killing of Todd and Theo is imprisoned immediately and everything goes back to normal. If it's anything like RL Theo will move on to his next victim and Todd will need understanding support and gentle care from those around him. And no knob jokes

Yes, this ending for Todd's story would be perfectly real life. But I expect Corrie writers will have something mad, like a shoot out. FFS.

Empress13 · 26/10/2025 07:37

Love him or hate him actor who plays Theo is playing a bloody good part totally believable. Interested to see how this pans out. Really wish they’d get Jason back he’d sort Theo out !

Deadringer · 26/10/2025 10:23

Theo's life with his wife was a charade, keeping up the nice guy act probably wasn't any more difficult than keeping up the straight act. I would guess that he has a string of secret boyfriends over the years that he abused, psychologically if not physically. I hope that when he finally leaves, Todd will have to watch him move on to a new victim, probably younger and even more vulnerable than Todd. I wouldn't want that in real life of course, but as pp said it would reflect reality better, than Todd or Gary bumping him off and George no doubt being roped in to help dispose of the body.

zanahoria · 26/10/2025 10:30

I would just like to see an abuse plot where someone actually stands up to an abuser. Geoff ended up falling off the roof and Kirsty did an about turn and fessed up after Tyrone was accused of bashing her. Todd would be a good candidate for this, he is usually very smart and in the in the past he has been remarkably sly and manipulative. It would be brilliant if he does start standing up for himself

Dontcallmescarface · 26/10/2025 10:36

Didn't he see 1 of his exes at the party on Canal Street a few weeks ago. I think the ex may have mentioned to somebody (not sure if it was Todd or 1 of the others), that Theo had messed with his (the ex's), head and to stay "well clear of the psyco"?

I remember that.

I just wish I, or someone else, could remember if Dev and Berni got legally married at the second attempt.

It did seem obvious from the start that Theo was lying when he said he had never been with men before.

I like the kid who plays Jake. He is totally convincing as Gary's son.

Tracey Barlow killed Charlie.

thenightsky · 26/10/2025 11:55

Tracey Barlow killed Charlie.

I was not really thinking of revenge, just standing up to them, telling them what they are and walking away.

I know many abuse victims get trapped in real life and the reasons are complex but others do put a stop to it themselves but rarely see this reflected in soaps. It would be good to see a positive outcome

MonickerMonica · 26/10/2025 12:07

Thinking back to all the abusers and DV storylines in Corrie I think each and every actor who played those roles did an excellent job including the current ones. There have been so many. Some of you may remember the scene where Rita was running across the train track in sheer terror from Alan Bradley who was Jenny's dad! I think that's right? That was truly shocking as have all the rest before and since but all played so well by the actors.

zanahoria · 26/10/2025 12:15

Also Charlie did not abuse Tracy.

She just killed as he was cheating then tried to make out he had abused her as he had a bad reputation.

Just caught up. Bloody hell that was intense wasn't it?

Not an easy watch at all. I just wanted to jump in there and save Todd. The acting was pretty decent to be fair from both of them. Theo was scary and felt like he was a total loose cannon and you didn't quite know what he was going to do. Todd's anguish was great to watch. Okay its a pretty brutal storyline but its being done really well IMO.

Yes it was intense. Todd was terrified when he scratched the car Theo 'bought' for him. Todd was so scared and jumpy. I really felt for him. I also think that the actor who plays Theo must be improving, as he is terrifying. Smiley and lovely around other people, then the devil himself with Todd! 😱

When Theo tipped the carton of milk over Todd, then just sat down and ate his bowl of cereal, it was chilling. 😬

Well, every time I google this, I get stuff like 'yes they were officially married, not long after a bit of a drama on the original wedding day prevented the legal bit happening then.' So I think they must be officially/legally married.

I can't remember it happening though. 😆

Anyone else wonder how Gemma managed to sit cross legged on a kitchen worktop?!

HaddyAbrams · 26/10/2025 14:21

I think Dev and Bernie's official marriage was off camera which is why we dont remember it. We didn’t actually see it, but I vaguely remember them being in The Rovers, dressed up either before or after.

LOL I know right. I used to be able to do that! Before I was an old gimmer. 😆

Aadi needs to come back. Even with a new head .

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 26/10/2025 18:08

Do I detect a frisson between Dev and Cassie. Abi looked like a thunderbird puppet.

The rapport Dev had with the twins used to be superb but the dynamic has completely changed now. They should have just explored the father daughter relationship or maybe brought back Amber.

Bernie making Asha's suicide attempt all about her was absurd, especially as she has been warned off before.

Getting revenge for racial abuse by playing stupid pranks is just moronic.

Yes, Alan Bradley was horrible. That's one of the scenes that's often shown in these programmes talking about DA/past scenes of Corrie/any subject really. But I do think, if I remember properly that far back, as I've said before, there was so much more depth to the characters. We probably got to know Alan Bradley the same way Rita and the other residents did. Theo is suddenly here, shags Todd a couple of times, leaves his wife and turns into a run of the mill, no different to any of these other fuckers, abuser. He has no depth.

On the standing up to them thing, they can be dangerous enough even when it's been their own choice to leave, it'll be a very rare victim who has been able to tell them what he or she thought of them and get away unharmed.

Also Todd keeps talking like they are as good as married - joint finances, even a mentioning of having kids, oh and that bloody car.

They have been together six months.
