Been googling and surprised there is nothing specific in Regulations about covering hair - food standards agency Personal Hygiene Interested in the not wearing jewellery and I know how I just touch my hair or face without thinking. I’m sure that would be trained out in college orcas apprentice, but Masterchef none of that

To keep food safe, every person working in a food-handling area must maintain a high level of personal hygiene.
They must wear clothing that is:

  • suitable
  • clean
  • protective
When preparing or handling food they should:
  • keep hair tied back and wear a suitable head covering, e.g. hat or hair net
  • not wear watches or jewellery (except a wedding band)
  • not touch their face and hair, smoke, spit, sneeze, eat or chew gum

Personal hygiene

Guidance on what you and your staff must do when handling food.

Olivia is my favourite and I don’t want Henry to win. I’m hoping he cocks up soon. Nothing he’s made has been that special, even though he obviously can cook. If one of the H blokes must win I’d rather it was Harry.

But Olivia and her resting Mafiosa Face all the way for me.

Olivia is iconic. The swag. She’s Italian, right?

I want Harry to win.

The invention test would finish me off. I would be in such a panic.

RomainingCalm · 12/09/2025 20:33

Evening Chuffs! Can’t beat a good invention test. 😊

Honestly I basically do it half the time in the supermarket. I start at the protein (meat counter for example) and then build from there

I like that Gabriel isn't faux humble and faux unconfident.

ilovesooty · 12/09/2025 20:35

Evening all.

Hazel is getting on my nerves already.

littlbrowndog · 12/09/2025 20:36

That is a massive chicken

EsmaCannonball · 12/09/2025 20:36

I really dislike a 'growing in confidence' storyline. If they didn't think they could cook they wouldn't blimmin' apply for television's MasterChef.

In Mumsnet terms it would feed a family for a month.

I would be hopeless at an invention test too @EsmaCannonballI’d say I’m fairly confident in the kitchen but I’m very much a BBC Good Food recipe follower.

Certainly not after it's been going this many years and you would have seen the competition has become exponentially harder!!
