Anyone watching this? Just starting the second episode and whilst flawed I find it very interesting how people interact within the jury

I am.

Really getting annoyed at the old guy on here and what some people think is acceptable in a relationship.

opencecilgee · 27/08/2025 22:02

Is anyone else finding (most of) the jurors highly irritating?

everychildmatters · 27/08/2025 22:02

@OversteppingEx What did you think of the woman at the end almost justifying her dad's violence towards her mum whe she was a kid?

opencecilgee · 27/08/2025 22:08

It’s like she thinks that’s normal behaviour

opencecilgee · 27/08/2025 22:09

it feels like one or two dominant characters will decide the verdict. Suspect they will bully the others

some of them are genuinely trying to hear all the facts and make a balanced judgement. Others had made their minds up after the first session.

OversteppingEx · 27/08/2025 22:10

I know. Its bonkers @everychildmatters

I would loose my cool with those jurors.

everychildmatters · 27/08/2025 22:10

@opencecilgee Unfortunately it probably is in her world. She said she'd got three kids by three different men and insinuated they had all been abusive.

opencecilgee · 27/08/2025 22:18

I didn’t like the way she was dramatically reacting to everything and smiling as Sophie took the stand, if she were enjoying the show !

i guess if you grow up with it and don't know any different it would be normal and if mum and dad say it ok and no professionals intervene then how would it not be normal as breathing

everychildmatters · 27/08/2025 22:43

@Coffeetime25 Totally agree. So violent behaviour from a man towards a woman (which we clearly saw evidence of) is acceptable.
Also, the older guy. Frustrating. DV isn't just about physical abuse and this poor girl had been so horrifically worn down mentally too. She was at the end of her tether and also scared of him.

Coffeetime25 · 27/08/2025 23:10

the cases in s1 and s2 are similar but in a 1 it is female victim male suspect in s2 it is male victim n female suspect so the comparison is definitely interesting

somethingnewandexciting · 27/08/2025 23:20

Is this the old one or have I missed a new version? The man who killed his partner/wife on the floor of the kitchen?
Edit to say I just saw the post above me, so off to start watching now!

Mossstitch · 27/08/2025 23:39

Just showed me how flawed the system is...........everybody's personal experiences affecting their judgement and some people so sure that their initial opinion is right that they won't listen properly! If it is accurate of what actually happens, which i don't doubt, then It's quite scary🥺

NervyWegovy · 28/08/2025 00:07

I don't like the jury either, I know it happens in real life but those adamantly on either side just totally railroad any real discussion.

OP posts:
NervyWegovy · 28/08/2025 00:11

Also so far this case seems a lot more one sided so far than the first series but hopefully theres a twist when they present the other side.

But then maybe im biased in my thoughts

Joystir59 · 28/08/2025 00:27

I wonder why there's only one jury this time?

Pryceosh1987 · 28/08/2025 00:35

I did jury duty once, its alot harder to do than watching it being done on TV. But it is something fun, the stories of the court cases are interesting.

opencecilgee · 28/08/2025 07:12

I wonder if Sophie had any bruising on her neck and why that hasn’t been mentioned? If he strangled her, there would be hand marks on her neck

Coffeetime25 · 28/08/2025 08:48

te girl from Liverpool wearing pink seriously did my head in she is smug and just annoying and single minded I could not cope with her at all

opencecilgee · 28/08/2025 09:28

They’re all from Liverpool!

opencecilgee · 28/08/2025 09:32

@Coffeetime25pink hair?

there are a few who seem to dominant screen time: pink hair, old man, red lipstick. I’d like to hear from some of the others.

at least pink hair seems intelligent, if a little biased by her job

placemats · 28/08/2025 10:29

It demonstrates clearly that a lot of people don't understand coercive control and still believe that the person defending themselves should be battered to within an inch of their life. There's clearly jurors who do understand, the gay man and case worker.

Away from the obvious seriousness of it all, I'm quite intrigued by all the food available and the amount of breaks.
