Anyone watching this? Just starting the second episode and whilst flawed I find it very interesting how people interact within the jury

@Coffeetime25pink hair?

there are a few who seem to dominant screen time: pink hair, old man, red lipstick. I’d like to hear from some of the others.

at least pink hair seems intelligent, if a little biased by her job

she comes across as smug single minded I work in this industry I am right n everyone else is wrong type cant stand her n wanna slap her everytime she speaks lol

everychildmatters · 28/08/2025 11:12

Exactly. I endured years of coercive control but I lost everything as nobody would recognise it. Tbf I wish he had have hit me as it wasn't physical and perhaps then I would have got some recognition and support. Notthing bad bad - he'd just do things like stop my mum from seeing the kids, lock me out of the marital home after curfew time and take my purse out of my bag so I couldn't buy anything.

@everychildmatters 💐.

I’m finding it very frustrating to watch. On both sides (but particularly on the ‘she’s guilty’ side) there are people who had already made their mind up about the situation even before any evidence had been presented, and nothing that has subsequently been shown will change their minds. If anything they seem to be so adamant that they are right in their initial judgement that they are doubling down and excusing all sorts of horrendous behaviour because it doesn’t fit with their initial view. I think it’s really frightening that people like this are sitting on juries and convicting (or not) based on nothing but a gut feeling based on their own biases and life experiences.

WildFlowerBees · 28/08/2025 17:31

In both S1 & S2 (so far) the jury made flip decisions during based on what they would do from their perspective. Very few actually heard all the evidence and made a decision based on that.

Our system is flawed, I would never want to be tried by a jury like this.

Really ugly choice of language from you. Repeating how you'd like to slsp someone is not a good look, especially on a thread dealing with domestic abuse.

Heylittlesongbird · 28/08/2025 19:30

I'm finding it interesting, but am I right in thinking that in real cases the jurors aren't allowed to discuss the case with each other until the point they enter the deliberation room?

Surely they are allowed to discuss with each other but nobody else

opencecilgee · 28/08/2025 19:41

I dont find pink hair smug at all

if anything, her judgement is clouded by her job. She seems intelligent (others do not) but at 26 her career and life experience is limited and I think she’s just as biased as some of the other jurors

@heylittlesongbirdis right, when I did jury duty we weren’t allowed to discuss the case until we were deliberating. There was always the somebody from the court with us until then as well.

These lot are driving me mental!

opencecilgee · 28/08/2025 21:25

I take it this is all filmed in one day. Nobody clothes have altered

The real trial probably took weeks

x2boys · 28/08/2025 21:43

I have watched the first two episodes the older man and the women in pink are polar opposite, s and will never agree
The man who died was clearly an abusive arse
But it's the 999 call that got me at that point he was on the floor struggling to breathe he was no threat at that point yet Sophie appeared very casual in the call and lied about what really happened and when the ambulance service said it may not gey there for a while she made no effort to emphasise it was a real emergency, I'm not disagreeing he was violent but it's he could have Been saved .

Yes the first season was was the same theu made out it was several days/ weeks but the clothing never changed .

opencecilgee · 28/08/2025 21:46

@x2boys

yes the 999 call will be her downfall in this case.

I think so one of the jurors said something like he didn't deserve to live ,but that's not the job of the jury to make emotional decisions they need to look at the facts if the case yes he may of Been a violent repulsive person but in the eyes of the law it doesn't mean he should lose his life for it

opencecilgee · 28/08/2025 21:50

Thwy keep showing the same
jurors over and over. Can’t we hear from some others?

some people have had no air time at all . Not a word

opencecilgee · 28/08/2025 21:52

Red lips made up her mind on the first session and now everytime she hears evidence to support her opinion, she nods and smiles emphatically .

are jurors supposed to enjoy the show like it’s theatre?

hope she’s never called for real jury duty

Agree it's the ones that shout the loudest that get the airtime inside I'm never before a jury if this is what it's really like..

So did the older man and the women in the pink jumper none of them are looking at the actual facts

hepsitemiz · 28/08/2025 21:56

I’ve just stumbled on this. Stupid qn alert: Is it a re-enactment using actors and transcripts from a real trial?

opencecilgee · 28/08/2025 21:58

Pink hair doing the same

Its based on a real case I think the jury are made up of the general public but the rest I think are actors ?

opencecilgee · 28/08/2025 22:03

Yes a real trial. The dialogue is taken from the real trial

Londonmummy66 · 28/08/2025 22:03

I really like the older lady of ?south Asian? background. She seems really measured, saying she wants to hear all the evidence before making her mind up. She'd make an excellent chair of jury but I bet mouthy older guy bulldozes himself through.

browneyes77 · 28/08/2025 22:11

The mixed race woman with the long hair and checked coat is honestly pissing me right off.

She made her mind up within 5 minutes and seems to be looking for things that back up her point of view and challenging the things that don’t. She’s way too obnoxious. The constant nodding, leaning forward, lip pursing whilst she’s sitting there in the courtroom. Then admitting that she’s stopped listening to evidence because she didn’t agree with it? I hope she’s never on a real jury!!

And her two little side kicks in the pale blue suit and the old Chef man are equally annoying.

Pink hair girl has also irritated me, as she is also tunnel visioned like the 3 stooges.

The one person who seems to be more balanced in her view is the older scouse lady with the maroon/dark red top. It’s clear she’s taking everything in. And I actually liked it tonight when she basically told the red lippy checked coat mouthy girl to pipe down 🤣
