I like Suranne Jones as an actress but I just can’t see past the Bridget Phillippson / Rachel Reeves style pelmet. (Sorry)

It’s really daft.

Spoilers

Minor peeve (agree with all of the above about security etc) but neither major party has interims in the way suggested.

Also on the migrant crisis

where did these migrants come from that were going to France? Or were they Brits trying to get away from the drugs shortage? And what about this boat that no one wants to dock - where did that come from?

Suranne Jones has, again, been miscast and it’s distracting. I’m choosing to believe that the daughter is 24 not 18.

As soon as the gorgeous stepson appeared, I guessed that he was or had been shagging his equally gorgeous stepmother.

Terrible dialogue, shut casting and far fetched situations combine with more than a dash of wokeism. I’m giving up after two episodes. Netflix dramas are usually poor like a lot of ITV dramas are and this is no exception.

Suranne Jones was an executive producer.

I quite enjoyed watching it once I had had a glass of wine or two and could suspend my disbelief at some of the clunkier bits!

Agree with everyone else that the lack of security was ludicrous! As was allowing anyone with a press lanyard in to Downing Street!

The showdown with the mad general was particularly laughable!

As was the way the Catholic priest seemed to have given the French President and her husband communion when there was no mass? Sorry that just would not happen!

It was pleasant pondering the prospect of having two glamorous women in charge for once though!

The "mad general" was meant to be this guy, right? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cp3q5xl9wqwo

Oh! Thx. I didn’t know that! 👍

Ooof watching this now. It’s dreadful. Suranne Jones overacting, the hero husband, the annoying ‘kid’ who’s thirty. Episode 2 and it’s starting to give me ‘mountain lion’ vibes….

Has anyone noticed that Suranne looks like a young Julie Andrews from the side ?
