Summer (2025) is coming to a close... And we're heading into Autumn! CORONATION STREET THREAD. **No spoilers please.**

Continuing from the last thread (Long hot summer of 2025!)

So much going on.

Sally and Tim are foster parents for Lou and Mick's children. (Whilst Lou and Mick are in jail.)

Kit (Brody's bio dad) has been assigned desk duties at work after getting into trouble. Bernie has gone on holiday alone.

Dev has packed Aadi off to India, to live with his uncle Vikram! (As he thought Aadi was out of control!)

Tim has Mr Spock eyebrows. Sally is still a snob. 'It's a top quality hot tub!' 😆

Abi and her comedy lips is having a sordid little fling with Kevin's Chuckle brother Carl. TracyLuv is blackmailing them because she caught them smooching!

DeeDee is (unprofessionally) dating a client.

There seems to be a secret involving Swain's deceased wife Becky that Kit's boss seems to know about, but won't talk about, and it's getting annoying now. (Just tell us Corrie bosses!)

Sarah has helped the factreh make a financial loss after flirting with a potential buyer who accused her of sexual harrassment, and is now demanding a discount, (which has resulted in other buyers wanting the same discount.)

Sorry if I've left anything out!

.

Going back to how dull the younger cast are, I had to laugh at Nina who after managing to escape from the cafe for once spent the afternoon in the pub with a bunch of middle aged people and thought it such a laugh that she put the photos on social media.

Whatever happened on Summer's 21st, did the youngsters even make it into town?

That's what the subtitles said. It's Wankel though, isn't it?

I think the subs said Wankel. It really is getting beyond a joke.

Casa Bevron!

There has been no suggestion at all that Theo might have been abusive towards Danielle when they were together. He's not going to suddenly turn abusive just because he's now with a male partner surely. Yet more 'drama' plonked in with no depth or backstory.

thenightsky · 02/09/2025 13:42

Wankel engine (rotary engine) I used to lust after owning a Mazda RX-8.

MonickerMonica · 02/09/2025 14:03

The script writing is once again deplorable. Using near the knuckle innuendos which are likely watched by young children with their parents before 9 pm. The watershed seems to have vanished down the plughole 😕

CherryogDog · 02/09/2025 14:11

Pleased the wankel has been cleared up 😀

eggandonion · 02/09/2025 14:38

I'm trying to persuade dh to watch old episodes of brookside. It was great until it went a bit criminal.

bizzey · 02/09/2025 17:00

Theo 's abuse to Todd is a self hatred of himself I feel ?

He hates being gay and maybe some of that conversion therapy has really wrapped his mind.

Just something he was doing to Todd , trying to stuff the kebab in his mouth and repeatedly saying ...dirty , dirty ...or something similar.

I really hope this doesn't go on for too long
I have only just got over Belles abuse storyline from Emmerdale ☹️.

Don't like watching stuff that makes me feel uncomfortable.

But I hope they do a good job on it and if it does help , even just one person , then that is good .

Middlemarch123 · 02/09/2025 19:05

I agree with @bizzey ,Theo is confused and a lot of his recent abuse derives from that. No excuses for him though, and I really hope Todd gets the strength to throw him out. So many abuse and similar stories in soaps,we need stronger characters to show there is a way out.

and they are overusing the ploy where a character becomes bi-sexual to make them look more interesting - Tracy, Nina, Asha, Carla - it used to be mainly women but the fellahs are up for it now we have Theo and Carl, plus Gary looks like he may give it a go. Who will be next to fall into Carl's bed? The next time the camera lingers round his hotel room it will probably reveal Steve's gurning face

As long as it’s not Ken’s 🤣

Christina and George make a great pair, better than misery guts eyelash!

Absolutely!

JMSA · 02/09/2025 21:35

Felt so bad for Todd. The confusion and hurt in his face 🥺

bizzey · 02/09/2025 21:44

Who would have thought..we are all wishing for Eyelash to be back on the street .!

She would sort Theo out !.

As an aside ...would Eileen ever have signed off a text as Eyelash ?

Edited as I got Todd and Theo name wrong way round ...
But to be fair ..she would have sorted them both out !

carmak · 02/09/2025 21:55

It was good to see George having a laugh with the newly bereaved Christina.

More of that would be nice.

eggandonion · 02/09/2025 22:24

George will sort Theo.

bizzey · 02/09/2025 22:28

Ohh a George and Theo showdown.....
Bring it on !! 😅

zanahoria · 02/09/2025 22:52

Perhaps Mary will intervene

OnTheBoardwalk · 02/09/2025 23:19

I forget Mary is supposed to be in the house. Maybe she’s wearing an invisibility cardigan

Todd needs to give Jason a call

JellyBeanSpring25 · 03/09/2025 00:20

Maybe Carl (who now also has a penchant for the men) will take Theo to Germany. They’d make a good couple, off screen though. Leave poor Toddles to find love with Billy (again).

The Carla / Lisa story is tedious. Don’t care.

Nice to see our Rita out and about though!

Middlemarch123 · 03/09/2025 06:27

I really liked Jenny’s denim dress. Loved George and Christina’s Gold routine outside the kebab shop.
David’s turning into Norris Cole, obsessing about the recycling bin!
And Carla and Lisa can actually get in the bin, pointless pair.

Deadringer · 03/09/2025 08:17

David seems to have seamlessly morphed from angry, troubled child/teen/young man to grumpy old sod, if he ever leaves Corrie i think that will be it for me, there are very few others worth watching. And yes more of George and Christina please, I dont like her much, but George (who i love) had more fun with her in one evening that he did in years with sourpuss Eileen.

Clawdy · 03/09/2025 08:43

George and Christina's dance actually made me laugh, very rare in Corrie at the moment!

MonickerMonica · 03/09/2025 10:47

Rita, Ken and Audrey are all frail these days but still part of the street so rightly given little scenes once in a while (Audrey not seen for quite some time. though) and it's occurred to me that an episode of the three of them sitting in the pub or cafe could reminisce about the old days with flashbacks which would be great to see. Not going to happen though 🫤

He has always had the grumpy old git side to him, it kinds suits him. It is like he is going from being a teenager to an old man but missing out the main adult phase.

bizzey · 03/09/2025 14:24

You can tell though that Jack loves these lines and stories !

He goes into work ..has a grumpy..and comes home again !

No deep and emotional issues to deal with.
No big acting to deal with.
No , bringing the work home with me emotionally.(Um. Un less he really does keep an eye on all his neighbors bins ! 😃)

TheHillIsMine · 03/09/2025 18:21

I feel I must have missed an episode as don't remember George and Christina dancing in the street. I saw them walking then going into the pub.

I've realised I've gone right off Jenny as didn't like Christina before and now I don't mind her. Not missing Daisy.
