Continuing from the last thread (Long hot summer of 2025!)

So much going on.

Sally and Tim are foster parents for Lou and Mick's children. (Whilst Lou and Mick are in jail.)

Kit (Brody's bio dad) has been assigned desk duties at work after getting into trouble. Bernie has gone on holiday alone.

Dev has packed Aadi off to India, to live with his uncle Vikram! (As he thought Aadi was out of control!)

Tim has Mr Spock eyebrows. Sally is still a snob. 'It's a top quality hot tub!' 😆

Abi and her comedy lips is having a sordid little fling with Kevin's Chuckle brother Carl. TracyLuv is blackmailing them because she caught them smooching!

DeeDee is (unprofessionally) dating a client.

There seems to be a secret involving Swain's deceased wife Becky that Kit's boss seems to know about, but won't talk about, and it's getting annoying now. (Just tell us Corrie bosses!)

Sarah has helped the factreh make a financial loss after flirting with a potential buyer who accused her of sexual harrassment, and is now demanding a discount, (which has resulted in other buyers wanting the same discount.)

One got sent to stay with an aunt (who for some reason they couldn’t just go with in the first place) because Rachel from Emmerdale saw her lamp the other one. The one who got lamped is playing her Bros cassettes upstairs.

Yeah, Sally is pretty too, and yes she does look younger than she is. She is 62 but looks more like early-mid 50s. Agree about Trisha, she did have an old fashioned look. Which probably made her look a bit older than she is, at first glance.

Yeah I think that may be it. Still looks mid-late 40s IMO.

Am I the only one who didn't care about Asha last night?

Many years ago, a main character attempting to end life would have been a major storyline and would have led to strong feelings. Not nown The hospital bed is in use every week!
Only started watching Corrie again earlier this year after a gap of many years. So much is unrealistic and it is hard to care about the storylines.

What was unrealistic for me was Asha not wearing her specs in the hospital scenes. As a longtime spec wearer I feel really vulnerable without them on!

I do not care about her much, she has always been the dullest of a dull bunch of (now not) teens and they have only ever given her misery plots - skin lightening, internet porn, the obligatory bad boyfriend - that are a bit beyond her capabilities as an actor. Aadi was always the better twin, even her mates liked him more, her own girlfriend copped off with him!

The speed of her turn round is already quite remarkable. Bernie said she could not be fixed like a Ford Fiesta but then they went down that route as quickly as the lads in Grease did when they did up Grease Lightening. The next scene was "Hi I am your friendly neighbourhood mental health therapist"

Just give her time to sleep off the alcohol and booze

Asha will have some permanent disabling condition for life, but it will never be mentioned again by Xmas.

I thought the Asha storyline last night felt like another attempt from Corrie at a public service broadcast. Same with some of the chat amonst the men in the pub. It felt a bit preachy.

Asha might have to go to India for a while tobe looked after by Devs aunties. Or go to stay with Amber.

According to corrie wiki Tim is 53. He said he knew her 40 years ago, unless I misheard, which means he was very young at the time. If she is older that's quite icky, tbf I think her hair might have made her look older but I am 60 and to me she looked about my age. So imo either a poor choice of actress or a weird past relationship.

And yes it's hard to feel sympathy for Asha in the current storyline, she always seems to have a cob on about something, so this just feels like another 'issue' ticked off the list.

I do wonder if we’ll ever hear any more about Bethany’s stoma now she’s back. I think that storyline was originally meant to have a bigger impact, but Lucy Fallon’s maternity leave curtailed it.

I was listening to an interview with Sally Ann Matthews on a podcast called Conversation Street. It was interesting to hear how stories are sometimes changed due to external circumstances. For example, she said the story with Jenny finding out she owned shares thanks to her ex-husband was supposed to be focused on Jenny and Carla, but that when Charlotte Jordan quit they decided to use it for Daisy’s exit plot instead.

Agree about Asha. She is always maudlin and miserable and griping about something. Hard to care about what happened in yesterday's episode as it's just another thing, in a long line of dowdy and miserable incidents that keep happening to her.

I wonder if the actress gets sick of all the miserable storylines she gets?

Yes to this. The hair is a big reason why she looked older I think. I have several friends/acquaintances between late 60s and early 80s, who have the exact same hair.

Changing the subject slightly - what's happened to Tim's head? Looked like he had a cut on it last night. (An inch or two above his left eyebrow...)

Also, where have I seen the actress before (who plays Trisha?) Bugging me like crazy it is, but I can't seem to figure it out! Her name Anita Booth, but I can't think what specific thing I've seen her in!

IMDb says she was in one episode of Corrie in 2012 as Nadine. Her biggest role seems to be four episodes of Doctors. I thought she looked familiar too but none of what I see on IMDb is ringing the right bell.
