Chessie yes, I think that was the idea. Although the mixed final is still happening today.

Possibly at 7pm, when no-one is going to be watching it.

And I can see the thinking- but they needed to factor in the 5 sets for the men.

I think Amanda's dad died the week before her 18th birthday, which is extremely sad.

I agree with your point about spectators leaving after the singles finals in the past Chessie but* *I can envisage half empty courts for the doubles because a few of them will still be enjoying lunch
Either way, it always feels like the doubles players get shafted!

I do- but I would feel a bit peeved that they stand to win about a 10th of the amount that the players in the US Open mixed doubles event will win. (The winning pair there win $1million dollars- and they are mostly top flight singles players).

Jane Gwen just looked totally bored . I don't think she really knew why she was there .

It's very different to being at the US Open, where all the famous types don't actually watch anything, they just sit around drinking and getting their faces on camera.

Louise was talking about how you need to have chemistry with your doubles partner and then accidentally said Chris Lloyd when she was asking John whether they were good at doubles and then stumbled and couldn’t seem to remember Evert John said they were terrible playing together Awkward!

I didn't realise the finals were at 4 - outrageous. I've no interest in doubles so will have to hover around till they're finished before the men's final.

At least the crowd got one decent semi final today.
