Typical, just sat down to watch the tennis and it started raining!

I am very impressed by Sonay Kartal and it probably helps her to be flying under the radar. I honestly found the level of crowd adulation at Emma’s match yesterday a bit disturbing. I thought she played extremely well and would have beat many seeded opponents but ultimately Aryna’s greater experience showed when it came to the big moments. I think the media makes too much of the whole “British number 1” narrative, partly it comes down to luck of the draw and I’m sure the British players all support each other doing well.

My daughter is in her box (i.e. corner at Ct2) today 😂

I don’t think Elena should be disappointed with Court 2. Yes she’s a former champion but she’s not that highly seeded this year, nor is she a particular fan favourite. Centre court is a popularity contest as much as anything.

To be fair, who knows what Elena actually said. Pundits - even the sainted Annabel - will always make something out of nothing.

That's true Majestic she may have asked how she felt about court 2, and they've twisted her answer to look like she's unhappy.

Jannik must create a real dilemma for the people deciding the order of play. He’s the world number 1 but his matches are often so one sided, they don’t exactly make scintillating viewing.

Ice no, he really hasn't been pushed at all. Bit of a contrast to Carlos, who hasn't had things quite so easy.

Pedro avoided a bagel, anyway. At least in the first set.
