Also some saying that Megan is playing it safe with Tommy and that she doesn’t genuinely like him.

I think this series is probably one of the worst and most childish. All the boys are acting like pubescent teenagers it’s all just a game and the girls such as Helena and Meg doormats to be used by the boys. There’s not one real connection. LI really needs to up its game and get back to its original format of people genuinely trying to find love.

I watched with my kids last night (older teens) and we found it very funny. Harry is quality!

There is a something very odd about Yasmin, from her wooden body language to the constantly sexual talk and very cold behaviour. Like someone said earlier, the way she chats about her bedroom antics doesn’t chime with the only slept with 2 people comment.

The kiss in the hideaway with Harry was really odd too, when she said something like ‘shut the F up and kiss me’ it felt like she was reading a line out and I thought it looked very awkward.

Part of me wondered if she’s a plant by producers put in purely to cause maximum drama, her behaviour seems very stilted and I think she actually looks very uncomfortable? Does anyone else think that? Either that or she is indeed a robot contestant!

I don't think reputable, mainstream British channels can get away with unethical behaviour such as plants and actors. I guess some participants are more open to being manipulated by their minders or the production crew, but I can't imagine the meeting where it was agreed to encourage Yasmin to behave like this. Her behaviour is bizarre. I think she's probably not very bright and a bit desperate for fame and attention.

Agree she's probably not a plant for legal reasons, but she's a strange fish for sure. The way she pushes people off after a kiss, like she hates them really. I don't dislike her, she's kind of great for making things happen and is actually right about a lot of things when the girls have a go. Toni can see her side of it (am loving Toni). Yasmin's not caught up in the emotions of it and is doing what bombshells are meant to do, but in her unusually dispassionate way and without the usual need for female friendships. I find it bizarre that anyone expected her to have any loyalty to Shea. Clearly they were only a couple at the last minute in a limited options way. He wasn't being mugged off and he's not really into her, or anyone really. If you took away the concepts of disrespect/mugging off, the whole thing would chill out massively. That feels like Harry's approach in a way - not taking any of it too seriously/personally, trying his luck and seeing how it plays out.

I am sure she is being fed lines by the producers because the stuff she is coming out with seems very inconsistent - but it is making for very entertaining TV!

Blonde Meg and Helena need to stop giving Longjohn and the Hormonal Harry the time of day. They need to get a hold of their self-respect and never look back at those man babies. I cannot believe the emotional time and energy they are wasting on these two players.

Don't understand why Lurch thought Wednesday Addams made him look a mug. She made herself look a mug, not him. I never get this concept. Someone else's behaviour doesn't make another person look bad. Just weird.

Good to see Shakira back in the game again. Gloucester Roadman acting like a sulky small boy again. He comes across so badly.

Not enough time on the new boy, who looks like butter wouldn't melt, but I suspect it definitely would!

Agree there are no real connections yet, even the women’s friendships don’t feel genuine.
Id like them to put in some good looking men, and also some funny regular sorts, just to really wind the og males up when they lose out to someone with actual personality.

I watched in the middle of the night (too hot to sleep) so may not be accurate - but I noticed when Yasmin had to pick her card to read out she lowered herself to reach it in a very distinctive way. Sort of sideways and straight. So perhaps her stance is surgery related.

That's interesting, as it could explain why she's so limited in sexual experience yet so hypersexual and lacking in emotional, if she was wanting it a long time and unable to do anything about it because of her back, so she's kind of over yet under developed that way. Pure speculation of course, but might make sense of the weird mix she brings. Or she could just be a kinky cold fish who wants fame and fun on telly for her own ends. Either way, it's keeping things interesting.

I said yesterday about her being a plant. I'm certainly not one for conspiracy theories and always stick up for the show when people say it's ALL scripted and the islanders are told who to couple up with etc, as I don't believe this. I know the show arrange certain "chats" and manipulate the order of picking etc... but that's fine imo.

Part of me hopes she is a plant for her own sake, as if she's not she's pretty damaged I feel. I'm wondering if she's trying to be Ekin-Su or Maura, who also went in there just to stir things up and cause ultimate chaos. Unfortunately for Yasmin, they also had a personality and brought fun as well as drama.

Says a lot about the boys though that they're falling for this act - someone who acts totally sexually driven and experienced but who is also practically a virgin and is looking for the man who can give her her first orgasm 🤦‍♀️

Yes, pretty sure Helena and Harry were shown kissing in bed after she’d found out that he’d kissed Yasmin.

I don't dislike Megan but definitely get the sense that she's settled far too early and is playing it safe with Tommy to get as far as she can in the game!

Some of the girls (i.e. Helena and Meg) are playing to stay in their 'safe' couples and seem to end up forgetting their self worth by tolerating the behaviour of the lads. I imagine it's difficult when you're around each other 24/7 though as it fast tracks dating and the girls seem to be acting very possessively so early on.

In reality, you wouldn't know about the other dates the person is going on in the real world. I think Shakira so far is coming across as more laid back in relation to navigating the early days and seeking connections and not taking things too seriously.

I saw this before but it makes no sense - why is her name up there? That makes it look like she haas sent it to herself or she has sent it to someone else. That should have his name up there but his name is no where on there. I think it’s been faked.

I wondered the same about the faking. It's fairly well articulated and thoughtful so doesn't sound much like him.

Those texts pretty much sum up what I think about Love Island. If any of them truly wanted love via tv they’d be on First Dates.

I don’t dislike Megan but her and Tommy seem a bit boring, although Tommy comes across as a decent sort of and maybe that’s because there is so much going on we haven’t had time to actually see them together. However, she turned me off her with her behaviour towards Malisha. Meg was very unpleasant to Malisha and the other two joined in. In particular with Megan, when Malisha called Meg an idiot (not good either) Megan yelled at Malisha across the garden then when Malisha yelled back, Megan told her off for yelling! Now Helena saying Yasmin is boring behind her back, there’s some real unpleasantness going on with some of the girls. You can say you don’t like someone’s actions but it should never get personal. I think they’re going to go in on Yasmin even more when it’s the men who have behaved sneakily - just adding that I think they’re being critical of Yasmin in an undermined way. Criticise her for lying about the kiss, but saying he’s not into her because she is weird and boring and thinking you’re better than her isn’t okay.

Also, have we seen anything of Malisha since she left or has it been radio silence? If the latter, I wonder if that means we will be seeing her again.

Also Helena did it to Shakira, so she can’t be surprised that it’s happening to her.

Just caught up with last night's episode. WTF is Yasmin? I cannot stand her, and am sick of her wooden personality, her strange demeanour, her odd face, and her fake posh voice. I also don't get what the men are seeing in her. She is SO weird. 😆

I had to fastforward a couple of scenes with her in, because last night seemed like the Yasmin show, and she was getting on my tits! The 'shot the fock opp and kiss meh' line made me cringe so hard! 😬 Clearly unbelievably staged.

I am tired of Dejon and Meg now, and wish they'd just call it a day.

Harry is a massive tool. (Loathesome wanker!) And I can't stand Ben either. Also, Dejon gets on my last nerve.

@FluentRoseQuail it does seem odd that Malisha has just totally vanished, and I think she will be back. (More's the pity.... I couldn't stand her.)

agreed @LikeWhoUsesTypewritersAnyway, but she was snuggling up to him during the evening challenge at points so I don’t reckon they’re going to end anytime soon. They will end when another bombshell comes in and he gets his head turned as she is way too into him and has no other options. Her and Helena are allowing themselves to be doormats.
