With Julianne Moore is just fab. It’s daft and light weight. It’s quite like White Lotus but then that could be because one of the leads in season 2 is in it. Oh, and Kevin Bacon 😀 I don’t want to praise it too much as I will give the story away, it’s worth watching though. Only five episodes www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2025/may/22/sirens-review-julianne-moore-cult-drama-netflix

I’m on episode 4 and really enjoying it. It is a bit like White Lotus with the music and the styling.

FloraBotticelli · 24/05/2025 09:15

I quite like it so far (on episode 2) - it’s a bit different, inventive, not sure what’s coming.

I’m a sucker for programmes in luxury settings (Revenge, The Perfect Couple). The AI scenery is a bit grating.

okydokethen · 24/05/2025 10:25

I really enjoyed it

BlondeFool · 24/05/2025 11:46

Stayed up late last night to finish. Really enjoyed. I hated the last season of The White Lotus but really enjoyed this

DinoLil · 24/05/2025 12:08

I'm just started on E4. Nothing has got done today. Dog hasn't been walked, turtle not fed yet, dishwasher not emptied...

Loving it!

For some reason the hungry turtle really tickled me 🐢😂😂😂😂😂

I just started! I hope it’s worth it. Husband and kids away this weekend!

Watch Rivals too if you’ve got a weekend off. Absolutely brilliant

EachandEveryone · 24/05/2025 16:48

I enjoyed it but not the end

Agree; wasn’t expecting that and not in a good way

AsIsaidearlier · 24/05/2025 21:29

I’m on my own this weekend and I’ve just binged watched it and really enjoyed it.

EachandEveryone · 25/05/2025 09:57

There’s no need for a second season I don’t think.

I loved it but was also Hmm at the end.

JonSnowedUnder · 25/05/2025 15:21

I liked the way it looked, the clothing, the house and the island but storyline wise I was waiting for the drop which never came. I was sorting of expecting something more but it just didn't go anywhere.

Jellykat · 25/05/2025 18:00

I binged it all last night, agree the ending didn't quite wash with me.. it felt like the didn't quite know how to finish it, so whacked in an unbelievable twist.

I know what you mean. I enjoyed it but at one point I thought it was going in a different direction with the talk of sharing dreams, and the weird scene in the taxi.

CharlotteRumpling · 25/05/2025 18:57

I loved it! Thought it was so clever the way it flips everything on its head, including the title. Liked the end too.
Want to talk about it but dont want to spoil it.
Julianne was great, as was Meghan Fahy. Meghan is incredibly beautiful no, like a young Paulina Porizkova. I thought she might have been more convincing as Simone actually.

Hey hey! 🙂

EachandEveryone · 25/05/2025 19:00

I think we can talk about it considering it’s only five episodes and it’s been out for awhile now. How long are we supposed to give it?

OP posts:
CharlotteRumpling · 25/05/2025 19:13

You can talk about it if you ask MN to put Spoiler in the title.

cherriesss · 25/05/2025 20:04

I really disliked the ending. It was lile they had run out of ideas!

I saw the ending as completely reversing what we had thought about Kiki and her power- or lack of it. It waa true to life, where women are blamed for men's failures.

thenightsky · 25/05/2025 20:12

I binged the whole lot yesterday. Its lightweight and I zoned out and had to rewind occasionally. Overall, I'd say its worth a watch.

Wildblood · 25/05/2025 20:36

Julianne Moore and Kevin Bacon what's not to like, love them both, thought he was a bit underused, Julianne was brilliant as was Meghan Fahy. The idea that an ineffectual but rich man can bring down a seemingly powerful woman was depressing. A definite example of the once a man weds a mistress he creates a vacancy trope. I thought it was going in a more supernatural/mythical angle for a bit which might have made it more interesting.

CharlotteRumpling · 25/05/2025 20:44

I liked that it didn't get mythical and stuck to the prosaic ie men blaming women.
