First listen to Albania and it feels like a winner. There are other songs I actually like more but listening to it, I got this feeling they had announced the winner and this was the performance at the end of the contest to celebrate.

How did people cope before AI?

I think - think - my favourite is Yootha Joyce from Ukraine and then, in no particular order, Sweden, Armenia (for ..... reasons), Albania and Italy. Didn't mind Luxembourg and appreciated the effort put in by Finland.

I expect my main thought tonight is going to be 'Put some clothes on!' (Except, you know, Armenia.)

Why does it start so late. It doesn’t start till 8pm and we are one of the most westerly countries so starting earliest local time. In the most eastern countries it must go on till well into the small hours

I have had a soft spot for Eurovision ever since I was 17 and falling in love with my first boyfriend. We watched it and Jonny Logan won with Hold Me Now. Along with the weather improving and the long nights it helps make May the best month of the year.
