Anyone else watching? As always my jaw is on the floor. The first couple - he is a prolific cheat, she is ten years younger and seems quite upset by the previous infidelity yet here they are…at a glorified orgy. Why?!

The beach bum surfer guy had literally no chemistry or chat with any of the desperate women at the end. It was painful to watch. At least the bi curious scouse girl looked like she enjoyed herself!

It does confuse me when the partners get upset, I mean what did you think was going to happen there?! I get that things can feel different in reality than fantasy but literally no point getting pissed with your partner for shagging someone else when that’s the whole reason you went there.

Felt so sorry for beach bums girlfriend at the end, she looked like she hated every minute of that party.

100% this. He was just desperate to shag every woman there, and why was his girlfriend so surprised?! He is a serial cheat - and he loves himself. At the end of the show, they showed clips of next week's episode, and she is seen sobbing, and saying she's humiliated. But they went there to shag other people! (I still feel for her a bit though...) As you said, beach bum guy is boring as eff, but the women seem to rave over him. He shagged at least 3 of them. Grim 😖

I don't know. Someone said earlier that she's 10 years younger than him, but I think she looks more like 15-18 years younger (like maybe early 20s.) Poor lass seems so fragile, and insecure. She must be to stay with a man like that who treats her so badly.

MarxistMags · 09/05/2025 23:33

It's like watching a train crash ....you don't want to watch but are compelled to do so.

Yep. The 2 young women across the road from me (neighbour's daughters) are 22 and 24, and they look like her. (As in age wise.) If it turns out she is 30 (this lass on Open House,) I will be surprised.

mrsmiawallace2 · 09/05/2025 23:41

She said she was 30 so 10 years between them. I can’t believe how dull he was.

The people that 'live in the house' are clearly just paid actors or prostitutes! Why on earth would they be there otherwise?

Lalgarh · 09/05/2025 23:44

I mean, you know.. what if these new sex partners are.. a bit manky? What if they're smelly or something. Let alone the stray saliva and bodily fluids flying about. These uh, adult sex helpers are regularly tested, right?

Solaire18381 · 09/05/2025 23:50

I really don't understand why Tan was there, for Mark it's just letting him have his cake and eating it! She didn't seem that keen to be there or seem to be enjoying herself.

As for Paul and Chloe, I thought they said it was about exploring together, and bring a woman in ultimately. Which she certainly didn't do!

Never heard of this programme until now! For the cameras to be there too. Not just "exploring" but also being filmed! They're entirely to different things. Was both funny and cringe. Certainly car crash TV.

EBearhug · 10/05/2025 00:01

I have been involved in group activities with partners in the past. I cannot understand how doing it on national TV would help anything, especially if you're experimenting because you're not sure if it's really something you want or something that shoukd just stay as a fantasy.

My optimistic side is hoping that people who are watching this and their unfaithful partner is suggesting a threesome/open relationship is actually now going "oh...you're just a randy selfish bastard'

MarkingBad · 10/05/2025 00:32

I'm not sure about watching this series so came in this thread to see if there is anything different, seems not.

Previous programmes run exactly the same, one partner really wants it, the other says they do but reluctant. First night out reluctant partner is upset and a few minutes of "Oh you'll be fine try this and have another go" creepy sex therapist, and lo and behold everything is fine and it all turns out happily ever after.

Gage and Olivia are the creepiest of the bunch, anyone will do.

I'm not usually a pearl clutcher on these things, if it works for the couple and everyone is fine, that's great but this show is awful and seems completely skewed to convince the viewers that everyone should be doing this. The happily ever afters at the end are all happily ever afters, that's not aways the case in real life.

I read a thread somewhere about the last series, the majority if not all of the "residents" have Onlyfans accounts. This is self promotion for them and Channel4 is allowing it. It's fucking grim.

Agree about Gage and Oliva being so gross and predatory, they run a swingers app and do Onlyfans. Creepy as fuck.
Like you I am no prude and watched the second series out of curiosity. What I hate about this (and I have no problem with consenting adults in open relationships where everyone is content) is their superiority and utter arrogance to call anyone not fucking other people boring and vanilla, and that their communication is somehow superior to monogamous couples in loving relationships. Apparently humans are not meant to be monogamous and we should all be sharing body fluids in sticky swingers clubs and the local Premier inn. Boils my piss.

mrssunshinexxx · 10/05/2025 07:09

Haven’t yet but will at some point have watched the other series

I was thinking this as I was watching. They must all have to be regularly tested and anyone new entering the house must also need to pass an STI check before going in. If not the place would be absolutely riddled.

Exactly. The whole thing is a sham.
OnlyFans couples pretending to have issues about shagging strangers on camera. Grin

SodOffbacktoaibu · 10/05/2025 09:25

It's basically porn but as reality TV rather than some dodgy story 🙈

Stuffocation · 10/05/2025 11:34

Yes a complete sham, the residents are sex professionals and even most of the applicants who are supposed to be exploring their sexuality and/or non-monogamy often have Onlyfans accounts or work in the sex industry too. They are all hoping to get enough fame to boost subscriptions and make more money.

Channel4 are basically making a programme showing non-explicit porn but with a bit of unethical psychotherapy thrown in to justify showing sex on tv.

Whatever. People will watch it and most will just have a giggle about it. I just hate the thought of a woman already in an abusive relationship watching this at home with their partner and being co-erced into this so-called lifestyle to fulfill his pornified fantasies, in the guise of simply "spicing things up". Ugh.

Fantasy is always going to be far from reality. You might think you're going to get one of the glamorous couples in channel4 chosen for their looks and "experience ", in reality it's giving a BJ to some other woman's sweaty husband in the Swindon Travelodge. Yuk.

I completely agree with this. If its all consenting adults fine but dont prude shame others who dont want to do it.

Deepa Paul has written a book about being in an open marriage. She has written an article for this months Red about it and appeared on This Morning. Video in link

CurlyhairedAssassin · 10/05/2025 23:43

Just finished watching. It made for uncomfortable viewing because right from the off Tanith was clearly very anxious, insecure and vulnerable and desperate to keep her prick of a cheating boyfriend. She was obviously going along with it because he was always going to be a cheater, he thought he’d just found a convenient way of having his cake and eating it. she looked absolutely miserable at her party and completely out of her comfort zone and I wondered if her mum had tried to convince her in vain before to get rid of him. If I was her mum I would have cried my eyes out watching that and gone round and punched him myself.

The “bi curious” woman had clearly not wanted to face up to her sexuality before then and jumped into the first relationship with her childhood sweetheart and got married young too. Sadly I can’t see the marriage lasting as it looked more like a friendship than anything and she seemed 100% lesbian to me. I felt a bit sorry for her husband but surely he could see that coming a mile off?

by the way, her job was listed as “nursery practitioner”. I’m not sure how I feel about someone working in a field like that parading their sexuality and naked body on camera like that, having sex on camera. It’s really grim. I don’t understand why someone would do it if they’ve got public-facing roles with people they see every day.

I wonder how this gets past the all the mental health/wellbeing checks. Perhaps there aren’t any and they have to sign a waiver.

Stuffocation · 11/05/2025 01:16

Honestly please don't be fooled by these people.

I haven't watched the first episode but don't need to. A quick check via the Open house Insta page.

Mark and Tanith, otherwise known as two naughtyblondes, already well used to the non-monogamous "lifestyle".

Paul and Chloe, their insta page has "spicy links" to guess what....Onlyfans.

None of this is real, it's acting purely for clicks. Am sure Channel4 know this but don't care, fucking grim
