I have an unfinished ra ra skirt …
I keep thinking I must finish it!

I think @RaraRachael might take it off your hands!

RaraRachael · 26/03/2025 13:59

🤣🤣🤣

I was so slow in my 1975 sewing lessons that I ended up with a sleeveless smock and everyone else's had sleeves.

really showing my age

Didn't last night's mum have an item she'd started about 15 years ago and never completed?

It reminded me of my dad buying a rug making kit (very popular in the 70s). He never completed it and it had to be thrown out half done when he died in 1995 - an early example of crafting!

I'm ashamed to admit I had to introduce a "bin it after 10 years" rule to unfinished crafts myself. I also allocated a set space for craft supplies - once it is full, I can't buy ANY more until I've used up enough to make space.

In this latest episode they said it was four ‘big’ moving vans. And they’ve mentioned multiple vans in other episodes too. How usual is that? I thought people normally moved house with only one? Or do they not use the same size van as people do to actually move house? They don’t even take everything to the warehouse, for example they don’t take the cooker and fridge.

BeaAndBen · 26/03/2025 17:23

They are dealing with people with far, far too much stuff, so what works for a “normal” family wouldn’t work for them.

Also, lots of people move with huge moving lorries, not the trucks you see in SYLO.

If they have any sense they will use multiple smaller vans, as then they can send them off earlier to the warehouse to start sorting, rather than waiting for 1 large van to be full.

I really liked last night's family. But that level of crafting is alien to me, so filling a perfectly decent bedroom with craft stuff rather than sorting it for your child blew my mind a bit!

CurbsideProphet · 26/03/2025 17:43

Stacey seemed very taken with this family. I would love a special episode where she travels about visiting some of the families, maybe making them a special lamp or something 😀

Daisyrainbows · 26/03/2025 17:44

Did anyone find the flower stencils from the little girls room? Would love to buy them

I feel like at least they both had a passion in crafting and cycling and share that with their kids. Some of the parents on the series just fill their home with absolute garbage.

Yes that's true, the mum with the shopping addiction just filled the house with clothes....

They were lovely weren't they, all doing things together and enjoying each others company. Hopefully my DH and I will be like that when our toddler is older!

Ulysees · 26/03/2025 22:24

Absolutely loved them sitting at the table chatting.

Just caught up and it was such a perfect episode. You could see the moment when Dilly (I think) managed to get through the mum and suddenly the craft stuff started to go in the wheelbarrow.

The dad said he’d been in hospital a lot as a child which was sad, and when he said the eldest son taught him how to be a dad it was just lovely.

notatinydancer · 27/03/2025 08:57

Lovely kids.

Penguinmouse · 27/03/2025 09:13

@ThisIsMyYearToFindMyself When I moved a few years ago, we had a Luton van but also a couple of cars going back and forth… should have got a couple of lorries 😂

the80sweregreat · 27/03/2025 09:36

Nearly every episode they show the dining table all set up with lots of plates and things. I know it’s supposed to be this way in order to look nice , but why can’t they have a plain table without anything on it? It winds me up and nothing to do with me either 😆

ASNQuery · 27/03/2025 12:43

lovely episode but I wonder why we didn’t see the parents room.

They’ve shown the helpers in the warehouse tonight, I’m finding this one so interesting

There's such a big list of runners at the end of the show it's only fair they get their hard working faces on tv and a bit more acknowledgement for all they do - was great to see them laying out the warehouse!

TitsInAbsentia · 05/04/2025 20:18

I thought the oldest son (Timeon?) was an absolute darling, hope he stays that way 😍
