Blondeshavemorefun · 15/03/2025 22:12

The new six-part season will focus on three murder mysteries, with Samantha Bond, Jo Martin (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/marlow-murder-club-jo-martin-season-2-chance-newsupdate/), Cara Horgan and Natalie Dew all back in their roles.

on wed 8&9pm for 3weeks

Meanwhile, Thorogood, who has adapted the show from his own best-selling novels, is joined by new writers Lucia Haynes and Julia Gilbert for this season, who have crafted new stories for the later episodes.

The second season of The Marlow Murder Club will see author Robert Thorogood join forces with writers Lucia Haynes (Annika, Vera) and Julia Gilbert (Midsomer Murders, Ridley) on writing duties for the new episodes.

Haynes and Gilbert will each pen a murder mystery that spans two episodes, meaning that there will be three main cases in the new season.

The first two episodes of season 2 will be an adaptation of Thorogood's second novel, Death Comes to Marlow, but the other episodes in the season will be brand new stories.

The official synopsis for season 2 reads: "Life in the idyllic town of Marlow has just about returned to normal after the triple murder that rocked the community.

"But it’s not long before retired archaeologist Judith Potts (Samantha Bond), Vicar’s wife, Becks Starling (Cara Horgan), and dog-walker, Suzie Harris (Jo Martin) are called back into action, when a series of new unsettling crimes befall the local residents.

"From a seemingly impossible murder inside the locked study of a sweeping mansion

to the mysterious case of a man murdered in the middle of a sleepy cul-de-sac with no connection to the town

and an unexpectedly brutal accident at the prestigious Marlow sailing club that quickly reveals itself to be something more sinister, there’s no rest for our sleuthing trio.

"Navigating the delicate balance of Marlow society – from local aristocracy to the workers at the local boatyard, the pubs and cafes of the high street to a newly established archaeological dig – Judith, Becks and Suzie dig into all corners of Marlow life as they assist DCI Tanika Malik (Natalie Dew) in her official investigations."

As for who will be returning for a second instalment of The Marlow Murder Club, all the leading ladies will be back for more crime-solving action.

Samantha Bond, Jo Martin and Cara Horgan will all reprise their roles as Judith, Suzie and Becks, while Natalie Dew will also return as DCI Tanika Malik.

Meanwhile, a number of other stars including Phill Langhorne and Holli Dempsey are also expected to be back, and a whole new group of guest stars are also joining the show (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/marlow-murder-club-season-2-cast-newsupdate/), including Nina Sosanya, Samantha Womack, Hugh Quarshie and Patrick Robinson.

Think all are 2 parters so 1&2 tonight

E1 8pm

death comes to Marlow

a wealthy baronet dies alone in his study the day before his wedding

judith becks and suzie find theirselves at the centre of another mystery

e2 is part 2 at 9pm

as the alibis stack up the 3 ladies are pushed to their limits to who did it

OP posts:
RafaistheKingofClay · 19/03/2025 18:41

So looks like the first two parter is based on the second book then. Sounds like they might be moving away from the books after that one.

Clawdy · 19/03/2025 19:13

Recording these tonight, enjoyed the last series.

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/03/2025 20:01

I haven’t read the books so should enjoy

here we go

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 19/03/2025 20:09

He might be squashed

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 19/03/2025 20:10

Pmsl. He’s dead.

well a giant bookcase / cabinet has landed on him

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 19/03/2025 20:34

As they all rushed into the room could the killer be hidden behind the door and then appear with the mob

OP posts:
RafaistheKingofClay · 19/03/2025 21:00

Apparently can’t seem to watch U&drama live on the app anymore. So I can start the episodes at the right time but am ending up ahead.

not sure how Tristram didn’t notice the less than subtle trailing of him by 3 women on a mobility scooter.

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/03/2025 21:07

So both the kids tried the door and said was locked. But no one else tried it

so I’m saying the door wasn’t locked and that’s how they escaped

and must have been the sister who killed him as T was outside with them

OP posts:
RafaistheKingofClay · 19/03/2025 21:59

If you’d managed to guess that ending you’d have needed some sort of massive prize.

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/03/2025 22:04

Ha ha. I was totally wrong 😂

think my version was a plot on another murder series

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 19/03/2025 22:06

Tho how did she make the dresser fall on him

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 19/03/2025 22:14

Scrap that. Tape

OP posts:
RafaistheKingofClay · 19/03/2025 23:07

I knew I’d missed something about the light through the window when I re listened to the book the other day. Couldn’t quite work out why it was important.

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 20/03/2025 07:58

thank you Blondes
am avoiding reading the thread till I watch!

Yamyamabroad · 20/03/2025 08:07

I'm so glad this is back, perfect cosy murder territory.
I have realised that if you watch it on demand on the TV you can get it in HD whereas the live version is only shown in SD. The scenery really deserves HD !
