I'm amazed than anyone would spend decent money on a tour that was sold to them by a random on the street. I wouldn't, I'd be doing my online research and if I was on holiday I wouldn't have a spare day to do something spontaneous and risky like that.
I assume the camera crew in tow might be part of the attraction.

I wonder of the pool of applicants has shrunk over the years as the show has become more shit.

Or is there just an endless supply of young people prepared to make them selves look ridiculous in order to be on TV?

Just joining in! I haven’t yet worked out all the names, but I think the rock scissor whatever thing one should have gone. Emma who went didn’t sell herself unfortunately. If it’s down to the actual business idea, if the face on mug business was never going to win, why bother giving it a place at all. Would have been nice to have had Emma there longer.

At this stage it's hard to know who did the worst. Emma didn't sell herself in the boardroom, and also didn't sell anything, so that sealed her fate.

I read the bios someone linked above, there seems to be quite a few contestants who set up business during the pandemic.

The only way I would consider joining one of those tours if I was on holiday is if I knew it was an Apprentice task, and then I'd negotiate (rock paper, scissors) down to at least half!

I think some are there just for entertainment value/ during fodder. It's a telly programme before anything else. I think it's one part it's sell by date, but I still watch it!

My DH was always more of an Arsenal boy (north London upbringing). I think it was also that he’s not flamboyant enough to make good telly.

He was quite glad he didn’t get any further because it would have meant a long sabbatical from work (I think it was about 8 weeks filming) and a pay cut if he did win, and it would have been cutting it very fine with DC2’s due date!.

Can I just ask exactly why you are reading the thread and watching the show?

Is it to enjoy the brilliance and praise the humility of the entrepreneurs. Along with the joy of the sheer hilarity and wit of Sir Allan's ad lib puns?

Of course you can ask. I enjoy seeing the challenges and thinking what I would’ve done in their situations, laughing at the funny moments that occur. Seeing the failures and successes are great and I think we all enjoy that.

I don’t, however, watch to call the candidates names, attack their appearance or intelligence. Thought we’d kind’ve got past that to be honest.

My Dbro is a spurs fan and we used to live not far from WHL so I'd hear all about it. They have always been ridiculously inconsistent. It's beyond belief how predictable they were, even over years, with changes of players and managers- Do well, get to about 3rd then totally fall apart and finish about 15th. Every year!

It wouldn't surprise me if 'Spursy ' enters the OED soon. Everyone knows what it means....
