What the title said.

This year's crop of wankers are up in 15. Any takers?

I don't mind hat/glasses woman but I'm sure I'll change my mind as we progress. I'm looking forward to seeing how awful Nadia can be because I think she can, with very little effort, be someone with zero redeeming characteristics.

“As we walk guys, can I just set the scene”….😬

Ignore that. Thought I'd managed to find a link but it's not available.

If the link doesn’t work, look for the series uploaded by the name haberci.

I’m another who had to give up on You’re Fired when Tom Allen took it on.

My DH applied for the first series - got as far as interviews and screen tests, but I think his downfall was telling the producer that Spurs were a bit shit.

healthybychristmas · 30/01/2025 23:17

The task is really ridiculous though because they have chosen something they are not qualified to do in a place they're not familiar with so how on earth could they succeed?

It's a traditional task though.

It was a profit and selling task. Both teams managed to negotiate reasonable enough rates for the supply element (even though they have to run the trips themselves), but they needed to demonstrate being able to sell the product and make a profit.

Can we take a minute on this thread to acknowledge that these are real people and some of the comments here are not ok?

The show is heavily edited and is a tv show not a documentary.

If you go on a reality TV show, you take what goes with it.

There were three useless men to choose from but the woman was chosen. The rock, paper scissors idiot should be the one who went.

Have we ever had a 5 people in the final boardroom before. Usually it's just 3

What happened to the project leader choosing who to bring back in ?

There wasn't much point for this episode because it was so obvious that the selling team led to the loss and the team leader was on the other team so couldn't have known which of the selling team was the most useless.

The selling subteam sold too few tickets at too low a price. The tour team negotiated a decent price and the guests loved the tour. It's rarely so cut and dry.

They kept the team leader in the room when the rest of the sub team were sent to the house because the team leader is always at risk of getting fired but she wasn't really questioned so they only did that as a formality to stick with the usual formula.

Years ago (back when there were only five seasons) they were on YouTube. I've just had a look but can only find series five, which was a cracking season.

Reddit reckons you can watch them on Daily Motion, I've never tried that though.

Yes, he's brought whole teams back into the boardroom on occasion. He's also overridden the PM's selections on occasion. With 18 candidates to get down to 4 in 10 weeks, there is plenty of scope for multiple firings too, including firing people before the final boardroom stages, which he's also done before.

There is a DVD of 'the best of series 1-4'.

Sugar is so predictable. If anyone really messes up a task, the certain way out is to point to a member of the team and say "Well, X didn't sell anything". Every single time, Sugar will obediently fire X, even when it is pretty bloody obvious that one of the main reasons X didn't sell anything was your cock-up.

Phthia · 31/01/2025 07:36

A £200 profit on two days' work by six people is really pathetic.

Phthia · 31/01/2025 07:36

In the real world, yes, but the task isn't realistic. If you were really going into business selling Austrian tours, you wouldn't rely on selling all your tickets for a single date by having four or five people wandering the streets for six hours and approaching randoms. You'd probably get hotels to sell them on commission, and use online channels.

Tomatotater · 31/01/2025 07:49

I suspect it comes down to the business plans in the end. On You're Fired the fired woman ( who's name I've already forgotten) was doing those 'picture on a mug' businesses, which loads of people already do. The mark up is crap on them too. The Sub team leader was useless and had no idea of his audience. He kept saying ' This is business, not fun' when he was selling to holidaymakers. I'm surprised his po face sold anything. If it was a genuine thing he'd have been fired but hus business is probably more viable.

Are we not allowed to say anything negative these days? It's getting ridiculous.

They've gone on national tv, yes it's heavily edited but they know what they're getting themselves into, it's series 18 or somethings. Katie Hopkins and Ruth Badger weren't edited very well either.

Say negative things all you like, but leave the personal attacks out of it. People have killed themselves after being on reality TV because people stopped treating them like humans.

“They knew what they were getting into” feels a hell of a lot like victim blaming.

They are unbearable
Its their arrogance that stands out most imo

Its an addictive watch though and looking forward to next weeks
