I think the missions have been better this year and have lead to accusations and more developments (Mia challenging Freddie etc)

Newgirls · 10/01/2025 17:02

I liked creepy clown. Popping my balloon would have freaked me out

I liked it too. DH and I were roaring at the faces of the waiting group who could hear the previous people screaming, but had no idea what was going on Grin

TheDowagerCountessofPembroke · 10/01/2025 17:56

Livi is a mum of a young child I think some of the comments on here have been too harsh and personal, though I agree the behaviour from the click-cleek -clique is bullying.

While I agree that some of the comments have been harsh I don’t see why her being a mum makes a difference.

ViolinsPlayGentlyOn · 10/01/2025 17:57

I don't think I've seen anyone refuse when it's that choice.

Someone did in a non-UK series and they just went with the next person.

Even if I really didn’t want to be a Traitor I don’t think I’d refuse in those circumstances. You’re just handing a gift to the Traitors otherwise with a murder and “secret” recruitment.

APushbikeNamedReluctance · 10/01/2025 17:57

tailinthejam · 10/01/2025 17:24

Running about in the dark in the woods on some challenge would give the traitors an opportunity to do somebody in, and when they all regrouped at the end of it and someone was missing...

Genius. Simple but brilliant.

Please submit to the production company for consultation.

Linda might accidentally murder herself if they did that though.

Snowmanscarf · 10/01/2025 17:58

As someone said upthread, they don’t seem that bothered about the prize fund, more about the shields. They were more obsessed about the money last year.

Unless I missed it, don’t they usually go into an armoury-type room to collect the shields?

Newgirls · 10/01/2025 18:00

Oh yes they seem to have dropped the armoury - no huge loss

leon was wearing his which I thought was cool

It doesn’t make any difference yeah that the comments would be just as personal and harsh if she wasn’t a mum, it’s mumsnet so most commenters are mums with young kids or that how they first arrived to the chat forum

A lone Traitor will get the option to force recruit, ie accept or instant murder. If someone still refuses I guess they'll continue until someone accepts. I don't think I've seen anyone refuse when it's that choice.

Anna keeping it secret is the reason she wasn't murdered. If she tells people, either they'll think she's lying and banish her, or the Traitors will kill her. She was right that they only wanted her to throw her to the wolves!

Yes, I thought Anna explaining to camera that she thought the other traitors would throw her to the wolves if she accepted was one of the clearest signs that people have been adjusting their strategies based on what happened in previous series. Because she was right.

I agree. If someone is being an arse or a twit it shouldn't matter how old they are, their ethnicity, if they are differently abled, whether they are a parent or not... none of that is relevant. They are still being an arse or a twit (sometimes both of course).😂

lackofvitamindd · 10/01/2025 18:14

I wish they'd do an alternative series where it's edited so we don't know who the traitors are & need to guess! That would be good telly!

From the previous thread:

Notsuchafattynow

Based on the facts, so far, there's no evidence of any bias.

I do think it's unfair to hint the contestants in this show are making selections based on race.

The data does not back your theory.

It’s hard to not to see the unconscious bias. The banishment of Kasim was really upsetting.

Fozia was lovely to pick on how upset and defeated he was and she encouraged him to speak up. It must have been bad in the house for him to feel so ostracised.

Edited

There is always a possibility of unconscious bias, everywhere, but I would caution about confirmation bias as well.

If you go looking for evidence of racism you'll find it. You'll pick up on things that support your theory and ignore those that don't, e.g. Fozia being the first of the 3 to be lowered down (i.e. the most contestants chose to support her without even really knowing her), and Leon being acknowledged by pretty much all of the contestants as one of the leaders of the group/someone people listened to - which was borne out by the voting for Tyler.

You can't even include the murders as evidence for "all POC leave early" given the 'victims' were chosen by women of colour, unless you also think they have some sort of internalised unconscious bias.

I noticed Lisa didn't actually give a real answer when they asked about why on earth she applied to go on a program about traitors and murdering people, and how on earth she would have copied with actually BEING picked as a traitor if she "can't lie."

Dan is the favourite of myself and DD. He’s fantastic

Yes we like Dan. Never watched Traitors til this series but knew my 14yo and I would enjoy together and we love it.
So to add to confusion we are watching series 2 on days series 3 isn't on.

scotsbud · 10/01/2025 18:54

Lisa, in her 'I'm a priest' speech claims that she can't lie or deceive. Why then would she take part in such a show based on lies and deceit. Very odd. If I was a contestant I'd feel very suspicious.

No need - they'll be reading this thread.😁

I've just caught up - I am loving Minah, she's playing a blinder so far. She's funny when she talks to camera, you can tell she's enjoying herself

In that case, my humble requests are:

  • Maximum 2 squealing/crying contestants
  • Cut the length of the breakfast scenes by half
  • Name badges for the contestants
  • No lookalikes or people with similar names
  • In fact, if each contestant could be allocated a colour theme throughout, that would be excellent

Please and thank you.

P.S. Please can I have a go? I don't squeal.

I'm waiting until I'm over 40 and therefore old enough to be interesting.

Stowickthevast · 10/01/2025 19:16

For traitor recruitment, on one of the series in a different country, which I won't specify for potential spoilers, when it got down to just one traitor left, they had an interesting twist.

Spoiler ahead

They were allowed to choose two potential recruits, one to recruit and one to murder. The traitor revealed themselves to both together and they each got to make a short pitch and then the traitor decided who they wanted.

I think Lisa and Linda disprove that!

But I agree more older people would be great.

Yes it seems such a dichotomy for her. She really hasn't contributed I wonder why she was even selected in the first place.

GoodYawning · 10/01/2025 19:30

I don’t understand why Anna didn’t tell everyone that the traitors tried to seduce her. Imagine dropping that bombshell at breakfast time.
