The thing I'm finding most tedious about this Traitors is someone every five seconds (not just here, all over SM and comments too) asking 'What about breakfast?' I wish they'd run a disclaimer at the start of each show.

I think most people hearing “killer doctor” would think Harold Shipman tbh. I imagine it’s something that most decent doctors would be quite sensitive about - as obviously he’s not representative of the entire profession - so I can understand Kas saying that…Jake?… was making him out to be like that

I agree, it was appalling to say that to a doctor.

Doctor by day, killer by night - any doctor would be horrified and aghast at having that suggested to them.

tailinthejam · 09/01/2025 17:59

Choccyscofffy · 09/01/2025 15:55

He called Kasim a doctor by doctor, a killer by night. They didn’t say you are a ‘game show murderer at night’.

Very bizarre that you think Kasim shouldn’t have defended himself.

Edited

I know. Imagine if one of the contestants was a neonatal nurse who was told she could be a nurse by day and a killer by night.

Everybody would know which recent legal case that was referring to.

Kas was absolutely right to defend himself and say what he did.

dapsnotplimsolls · 09/01/2025 18:06

I can't believe there are so many posts about Harold Shipman! Can we all just hate Joe together? 😁

dapsnotplimsolls · 09/01/2025 18:07

I wonder if he's still teaching. Awks.

I agree that one of the "young white wannabe alphas" needs to go (then maybe I'll be able to remember which is left 😂)
As to Kas, for his sake I am glad he has left. You could see some of the ostracising in previous episodes, one of the girls calls out to him in a loud voice for everyone to hear "hope you don't murder me tonight Kas" after he had just survived a previous banishment. So I think we just didn't see a lot of it in the edit.
And as for people seeing things differently, when Jake/Joe made their doctor by day/killer by night reference I was like "I can't believe they just compared him to Harold Shipman" so wasn't at all surprised by Kas' response, but I guess that just shows I shouldn't be on the traitors as if be voted out/murdered too early for not being like the "herd".

I missed that. I feel like if she genuinely thought Kas was a Traitor she wouldn’t have been so glib. Which makes their ostracisation of him even weirder. If they genuinely thought he’s a Traitor, they would be trying to nice to him so he doesn’t murder them.

Lazarusc · 09/01/2025 18:09

I think the traitors missed a trick getting rid of Jake / Joe / Tyler. They need to break up that group and hopefully it might send a few shockwaves through the group. Tyler particularly seemed to be coming unstuck yesterday. I'm also not enjoying the Leanne and Livi dynamic and them telling others who to vote for.

crastinatelikeapro · 09/01/2025 18:09

Haven't caught up with the thread yet, but I hope they chose Foiza because I don't like it when they pick someone whose already under suspicion. Obviously I get why they do it and that person could decline but I remember Ross last year had to stand there and say he was a traitor and he hadn't even murdered anyone as he'd just been recruited the night before!

I hate the smugness some of them have at catching a traitor when actually they'd been wrong almost the whole time!

I much prefer it when they murder rather than recruit.

crastinatelikeapro · 09/01/2025 18:10

I also wondered about Freddie and Frankie. They both had such big reactions when she voted for him. But I'm sure she said she has 4 boys and he said he's an only child.

pinkdelight · 09/01/2025 11:55

I'd love to think that but she really just seems blank and unable to get beyond the most basic agreeing with whoever's talking, rubbing people's backs, pulling one face if accused and only being able to muster an accusation back at her accuser with no logic. She's got no gameplan beyond that and even that seems a strain. I can feel her panic beneath, just focusing on keeping her face set. It's a shame as she felt herself quite a wild creative character at the outset but was quickly out of her depth. She's done well to stay in this long but I'm looking forward to there being a more proactive traitor as it's a bit of a waste of the role.

Agree

witchycat2 · 09/01/2025 18:17

Francesca isn't Freddie's mum, he's an only ch old and she has 4 kids. Someone also said they've found his mum on socials and it's not her. She's just taken him under her wing, that's all.

I'm now doubting there are any other relationships, as surely they would have told us (viewers) by now or what's the point?

I do think Charlotte and Alexander have similarities but after a bit of sleuthing I've found they have different surnames (I know that doesn't necessarily mean anything), but they have no links with each other whatsoever. Yes they may have removed anything before the show but I'm sceptical. I think someone who knew/knows them would have come out by now.

I think Linda would have been better and shown more character if she was a faithful. She can't handle the heat of being a traitor so she's trying to keep her head down all the time.

By asking for volunteers to leave the train coaches, the three kindest people probably left before they reached the castle, maybe why the group has not been as nice?

Kas said on Uncloaked - bonus episode that he was just about to stand up when Alexander volunteered.

Tisthedamnseason · 09/01/2025 18:53

I actually think it was the round table that reacted ott when Kas made that almost throwaway comment about being compared to Dr Shipman. They were all outraged and said how disgusting he brought that up and that he was taking Jake's comment too far.

I agree. He said it in quite a throwaway way "like I'm Harold shipman or something", and they reacted like he'd said something absolutely beyond the pale.

As it happens, when they were talking about him maybe being a doctor saving people by day but then killing other people (I think someone said it before the round table) I think I said to DH "it's not real, he's not Harold shipman!" so I didn't find it particularly surprising that it came to his mind.

JessyCarr · 09/01/2025 19:04

What Jake said to Kas at that round table in Episode 3 was really nasty and personal:

Jake (pointing at Kas while sitting next to him): You, Kas, I feel like you are smart, you are calculated. You know, you save lives during the day, you’re killing at night, it just makes sense, the doctor connecting there.

pinkdelight · 09/01/2025 19:16

TheDowagerCountessofPembroke · 09/01/2025 12:43

Why on earth wouldn't they (or the producers if they're making the real decisions) pick a Jake or an Alex who are totally under the radar and could be an effective traitor for a good while, and take any heat off Linda forever (useless though she is)?

But they are only under the radar because of the editing. And it’s edited that way because those people aren’t really mentioned much on the round table.

I understand about the editing. I mean under the radar precisely in the sense that they 'aren't really mentioned much on the round table' i.e. pick people not being accused of being traitors not people already with targets on their backs.

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 09/01/2025 19:19

Will catch up with thread in a bit but I’m finding this series the most uncomfortable I think with some of the bullying of Kas. I dislike Joe intensely and Dan & Tyler quickly behind him.

Same. I’m hoping Joe’s gone very soon. He’s a nasty bully who proves that they always choose popular people to stick the boot into.

Because ultimately a good traitor wants to throw other traitors under the bus, so you don't want to pick a smart one - they'll do the same to you. And if you pick one who's getting heat, no one will look at you

TheDowagerCountessofPembroke · 09/01/2025 20:17

If anyone hasn’t done so already I recommend listening to the Uncloaked bonus episode on BBC sounds. Kas is so lovely.

beautyandTVisgoodenoughforme · 09/01/2025 20:32

WinterCosiness · 09/01/2025 10:22

The last two series I was 100% team faithful. I still kind of am, as that's my default. But, I feel a lot of the loveliest faithfuls (the truly faithful faithfuls) have already gone this year. I loved Kas, and thought Elen seemed really kind too. Keith was like your favourite uncle. Sad we didn't see more of him. Then Jack went before he really had a chance. Seemed like an honest gardener. Most professional gardeners I've ever met have been very wholesome souls 😊
I'm very aware that it's heavily edited, and we're not seeing everything of anyone. So I try to keep that in mind. Some things might not be as bad as they appear.
Re the traitors - I'm going to go a little bit against the grain of this thread! I actually love Linda! I know she's a terrible traitor; but that's why I love her! I tend to like the good faithfuls and the hopeless traitors! I know I couldn't be a traitor for a second. I'm a hopeless liar and would get flustered and also just find it too upsetting. I couldn't bear to be the cause of someone leaving the game (I obviously will never apply!). Minah, who seems to be a MN favourite, is obviously an absolutely outstanding traitor. But, for that reason, I'm terrified of her! She relishes the role just a bit too much. Re Armani, again, I'm going to slightly go against the grain - I actually loved that she was so confident. Bless her. As a woman with exceptionally low self-esteem, I always think it's great when women do have good self-esteem. Yes, she was not a good traitor, but came across as a nice bubbly person. As stated, I like the good faithfuls and the bad traitors!
Jaz last year will probably always be my favourite faithful 😊

i agree with you too @WinterCosiness ! Think @LindorDoubleChoc agrees too. I think this thread is a reflection of the same dynamics on the round table Grin. Mob think about who is related - there’s no reason why there would be just because there was a gf and bf in s1 and mum and son in s2. I thought Armani was transparent and very honest, reasons to like her , but this thread loves duplicitous Minah - Minah is so funny though! Just pointing out probably everyone posts to agree with one post and if someone disagrees they probably don’t post. Loads of lurkers on MN. That’s why Uncloaked is so good to watch - who is to say Joe comes out and comes across as a Saint on Uncloaked? It’s all a game!

I do agree with PP that this series seems nastier. First series they were there to win money, the missions mattered. Now they don’t even bother with missions, it’s about staying in and finding traitors - in the first series it was set up so that they’d try to figure out who sabotaged the missions but don’t know if it’s the tv show makers or the contestants, they don’t do that now. Now it’s just gossip and feelings, prejudice, bias whatever they go on. I couldn’t believe no one would get off the train or the boat. What is the point. It’s a game show. No one is trying.

fairytailcat · 09/01/2025 20:33

I dont think there are any more people connected/ related

In previous years, the audience have known those details

fairytailcat · 09/01/2025 20:35

If somebody is recruited then Minah can pretend they tried to murder her. She has a shield

That's what Harry did last year

She’d have to very careful as bringing it up herself will instantly make people look at her. She’s done well to stay under the radar so far so she’d be better off with Leanne making the claim (as she had the other shield) or letting someone else vocally put 2+2 together.

The best plan would be to make sure everyone knows Leanne had the other shield and make a point to murder her at the next opportunity. Otherwise people will start to question why neither of them have been murdered if one was already targeted. It will throw them off the scent of a recruitment too as they will all just assume that the Traitors had originally tried to murder Leanne anyway.

Good intel.

As for when relationships are revealed, isn’t it up to the people concerned? Though maybe it’s planned with the producers to create drama.

Season 1: was week 2 before Tom blurted it out at breakfast he was Alex’s boyfriend (without apparently consulting her).

Season 2: in episode 3, Diane told the audience (though as far as I remember they didn’t tell the other contestants) Ross was her son.
