Hi all

Has anyone binge watched all 4 eps and looking for a discussion?

I'm 20 mins from the end of ep 4.

This was from Pete/that diary thing he gave Miles (as if 🙄) and a previous book Pete had written about Maddie’s PND or something

Yes the monitor. Again they didn't make enough of this. I assumed that Theo's nightmares about a monster was because Mile's was talking to him at night to disturb his sleep and better build a case to have custody but they never explicitly said this did they?
So many dead ends which could have improved this story

I haven't yet watched all of it, two episodes so far, but I read the novel in the Summer. I enjoyed the novel. In the book they don't use the baby monitor.

I didn't make this association at all!! 😮 But yes this makes sense in the nonsense of the show... If this is what they were going for it would have been helpful to to say so, eh 😂

I assumed the gifts were just so Miles could say that Pete and Maddy couldn't provide for Theo and he (Miles) was forced to buy Theo stuff, like the bike

Well I must be easily pleased as I loved it!
Thought the actress that played Maddie was great and the sets were stunning.
I also found myself shouting at the TV as I get so wound up by any miscarriage of justice type storyline. Thought they could have expanded on the mother -
did Miles kill his brother David? Wasn’t explicit but implied? God help little David if so!

Well after this utter disappointment I have been binging Missing You (Netflix) and really really enjoyed it. For me it was a million times better than Playing Nice. Would recommend 👌

It was painful but I made it to the end!! Does anyone know where Lucies’ coat is from in that end scene on the beach.. the quilted jacket, its cream with a coral coloured pattern!!! TIA 😃

The book is way better. I couldn't watch the TV show it was awful

I just finished this and I really enjoyed it despite the clear plot holes.

Nursery wouldn't exclude a child for hitting another child.

The Courts wouldn't so readily send Theo to live with the other family.

Yes why didn't they call the Police at the end! And especially after he took Theo why didn't Miles wife change the locks or have better security?!

It also didn't really make sense to me why she did the switch because I can understand not wanting a child in the environment if she really thought Miles was dangerous but would you really take another child instead and just live with that as she obviously was fond of David too plus it wasn't clear what he was like before to make her feel.

I think Maddie could forgive her because it was a relatively good outcome and she could keep Theo while spending time with David. If one of them had been hurt then I think she wouldn't be able to forgive her so easily.

I read the book before watching, it was much better
