So actually Brian is Charlie’s nephew. Which makes him cousins of the Slater sisters and Stacey their first cousin once removed!!

It's not until you see Colin Salmon act properly do then realize just how good he is !
When he was speaking to Kojo you could really believe he was asking for an alibi. He is one of the better actors in it and very imposing

Southeastdweller · 28/12/2024 08:00

Because of Colin Salmon’s acting, I almost felt sorry for George in that scene when he asked Kojo to lie for him. I agree, he’s fabulous and a big asset to the show.

Colin Salmon is head and shoulders above some of the other actors. Gina has really improved but Anna is still quite poor. I just don’t think she’s got it in her to do big storylines. Ditto for Freddie. They seem like celebs who have no acting training.

I think most of the rest of the cast are ok to pretty good tbh but Peter is truly dreadful. The way he talks through gritted teeth and only seems to have 2 different expressions…it’s so jarring. Don’t they have a coach on-site who can work with him, he is so stilted and the constant gormless wide eyed look is awful.

the80sweregreat · 28/12/2024 10:00

I hope it's Peter that is the attacker and they put him away for a while as he hasn't any real purpose and Lauren and Louie won't miss him much !
He isn't a great actor and seems to be phoning it in most of the time as it is.

the80sweregreat · 28/12/2024 10:21

Who do we think the shovel attacker is?
I don't think it's Elaine or Ian or Kathy
Still going with Anna or possibly Gina and Anna !

Viewer23 · 28/12/2024 10:37

I think it’s Anna!

Viewer23 · 28/12/2024 10:37

I think it’s Anna!

Anna is a good call .
She was visibly shaken by the snidey comment Ian made to her about Bobby not being at the Beales for Christmas and he obviously blames Anna .

Cindy was very much against Bobby and Anna getting together -apart from the fact Bobby is her step brother - (sort of ) he was too feeble and not got enough gumption.
Murdering his half-sister Lucy obviously darkened Cindys view of Bob.
Bobby left Walford mainly because he couldn't get along with Cindy .
(And the fact Anna and Freddie were heading towards getting together )

Then Cindy not only tries to get it on with George but has an affair with her Ex DH son . If George and Cindy Rose were still together , Junior would be her Step-Son.
So Anna would have every reason to whack Cindy over the head

Eastie77Returns · 28/12/2024 11:04

I just can’t picture Anna picking up a shovel and smashing someone over the head. But I do think the attacker is a woman because I don’t think a man, who would arguably be stronger than Cindy, would creep up on her and hit her with an object. Lots of gendered stereotypes here I know! If it’s not a woman I’ll go back to my original guess that it’s Louie😂

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/12/2024 11:11

Ahh but at the Who Killed Lucy reveal there were loads of people in the frame then as Ian looked at Jane and said "YOU" ?? in incredulous tones ,,,,,,and the camera panned back to Bobby ....

They;ll go for The One We Don't Suspect .

And I don't hold any hope of DCI Arthur bringing them to trial.
Will Calum be back by Feb ?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/12/2024 11:13

Anna hasn't had a storyline recently except for simpering at Freddie while bird watching and wearing awful lipstick

the80sweregreat · 28/12/2024 11:16

Apart from being very icky and not that pleasant all Cindy did was have an affair ! She has form for it and with ' relatives ' too. She didn't remarry Ian so she's technically single. Junior was the one who is married.
The thing I'd find harder to forgive is supplying drugs to a woman who was already a reformed addict and pregnant too ( although she didn't know she was pregnant at first etc to be fair)
That really is unforgivable and only to save her own skin / blackmail and so on. All this ' but I still love you Ian ' too is just rubbish and he knows it

Shellingbynight · 28/12/2024 11:40

I think the attacker is probably a woman because (in this context) I don’t think a man would hit a woman with a shovel. Her injury was probably mainly due to her impact with the ground as those shovels are fairly lightweight. At the moment I think it was Lauren. It’ll be the least believable person though, and Anna isn’t believable because she’s so placid - so it could well be her.

Whoever it is won't go to jail needless to say!

the80sweregreat · 28/12/2024 11:46

Cindy was pushed hard out of Ian's front door and ended up on the floor , she may have hit her head a bit then? Although we saw her walk off and she wasn't injured. Not that we saw anyway
Similar to Lucy who also had a head injury before she was hit by Bobby with the music box ( which helped her ultimate demise )

Shellingbynight · 28/12/2024 12:00

That's a point, Ian threw her out of the door. So I don't think he hit her with a shovel, he had already done the flinging, he's low down my list! I can't remember if we properly saw how she fell.

They did the 'delayed head injury' story with Emma Summerhayes - remember her? The police liaison officer in the Lucy storyline. They do love a head injury in Walford.

Edited

I think it was Lauren over Anna. Anna can’t hate her mum that much to bash her over the head with a shovel and Lauren has more motives to do it.

Eastie77Returns · 28/12/2024 12:23

I remember Who Shot Phil. The main suspect was Lisa and it did turn out to be her in the end so sometimes they do go for the obvious.

Eastie77Returns · 28/12/2024 12:27

No way will DCI Arthur solve the case lol. Look at The Six fiasco. And Nish has now been hiding in plain sight on the square for weeks and the police have failed to find him, failed to spot Nugget taking him supplies (in the real world they would be following family members). If you want to get away with a crime, Walford is the best place to commit it.

Shellingbynight · 28/12/2024 12:35

Yes that's my thinking too @Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain

The police are absolutely useless, they would of course be observing the family members and it would have been easy to track Nish down. At one point Ravi was suspicious of what Nugget was up to, but he completely forgot about that when the chance of shagging Dee turned up!

Walford is the crime capital of the UK - with no CCTV.

Eastie77Returns · 28/12/2024 14:48

The best unsolved crime was Albie’s ‘kidnapping’. When Karen pretended to drop off the ransom money she just walked up to collect him from her BIL, who had Albie, in the middle of a busy park. It was broad daylight and there were police officers standing in the park but not single one spotted Karen taking Albie back. So ludicrous, it was like a Carry On film😂

the80sweregreat · 28/12/2024 16:45

The police in Walford are notorious for being completely incompetent!
I did smile when I saw Arthur's though
He must think ' ' ere we go again '
And it's Christmas

the80sweregreat · 28/12/2024 17:38

Saw a Spoiler for New Year's Day ( it's on at 10 pm again :(
Looks like Nish destroys the wedding , just as we all guessed he would.
Fingers crossed he dies before anyone is badly injured or dies !

Eastie77Returns · 28/12/2024 18:22

They surely can't keep him alive for much longer. He has been at death's door for so long now.

Southeastdweller · 28/12/2024 18:36

A spoiler pic has him holding a bottle of noxious liquid. Maybe he throws it in the faces of Eve and Suki on Wednesday.

OP posts:
the80sweregreat · 28/12/2024 19:11

Oh no! 😟 hope he misses with the liquid !
I bet he throws it at Eve first
