Anyone watching? So far I'm really liking the lead actress.

But they keep talking about a Northern Irish weapon-maker bloke being British. I thought Northern Ireland was part of the UK, but not part of Great Britain? Isn't that why our passports say great Britain AND Northern Ireland? Annoying.

On the upside, I loved it so much when the lead lady said "pre planning? Isn't all planning pre ?!"

OMG I hate all this "pre" business, "pre" ordering etc. It's already in advance! (Probably a thread for the pedants section)

Yes, that's what I thought that was.

I read him as extremely intelligent, able and ruthless. He can tell pretty quickly what needs to be done (blowing up his unit, strangling (??) Rasmus) and does it without compunction. I expect he may have also killed Gary, cos that one looked volatile to the point of being a liability. But he's not totally heartless and his own ruthlessness draws him towards kind, easy going people like Nuria and Rasmus. Will he kill Nuria if it comes to that?

Even after episode 8, I'm still strangely kind of rooting for him. I don't know if I'm meant to, or if I'm biased because of Eddie's gentle face. My husband is wavering. Is it just me?

He also let the guy who was driving the car away without killing him.

I thought the BIL was a goner but that was a very effective way of sending a message.

DH was rooting for the outcome we got and is now rooting for the Jackal to get his comeuppance.

I feel Bianca needs to track down his old spotter.

Nuria would probably have shot him herself if he'd got the BIL.
That was a nail biter overall!

Latest episode started out quite dull but it definitely perked up! This isn't the kind of series I'd usually be interested in but it's been riveting. I'm definitely rooting for the Jackal and hope the final episode isn't disappointing.

This was my fave episode so far it was brilliant !
Bianca still really annoys me as does the wife , the brother in law is always going to be a liability I reckon.
I didn't really want the thing to happen that happened but it was always going to ( trying to avoid spoiling )
I didn't read somewhere it's been commissioned for a second series so yeyyyy
I also reckon he probably got shot of Gary as he was also a bit of a liability weren't he

I actually wooped at the end. Find all the Bianca moaning to her husband boring.

I wonder what the outcome will be for brother-in-law. And Nuria. How on earth can he go back to a normal life and give this up
One point I wonder is.... Why didn't he despatch River like this first time round instead of all that malarkey in the concert venue. Much easier surely, and knowing he swims every day
I find it fascinating that snipers have to count like he did and then it is all in a split second

I was actually rooting for UDC, his security was a bit of a farce and whatabout the boyfriend?

I just wish they had made Bianca a bit more human.

I did have a moment last night of wondering whether UDC's boyfriend was in on the plot to kill him - he was very insistent on him sticking to his routine when UDC didn't want to swim.

I totally thought that! And the way he was cowering behind a pillar when it was all kicking off in the sea.

I really have loved this series. Love the scenery, the music, the plot, good acting. Can't wait for next Thursday, but will be sad it's the last one. Fingers crossed for a Season 2!

I didn't want udc to go because I wanted him to out all the billionaires and then see the potential societal fallout and how many more kills the jackal would be offered

I found myself rooting for the Jackal too. I was shouting "shoot him, shoot him" at the end. DH wanted him to shoot the whiny brother as well.

I thought this too. Too much emphasis / camera time on anxious looks as coaxed him to swim, he got in the sea etc. He 100% knew it was about to go down. He's clearly been got at by the billionaire cabal.

I'm not sure it's over with the BIL gangster either. So he goes to meet BIL and ends up dead? That's not going to wash with his gang, surely?

There's a lot to cover in the final episode, unless they seriously pick up the pace.

My prediction for final episode is:

• The US and UK Govts are actually the ones funding the Jackal to kill UDC. Hence M16 closing investigation when they get close to finding him.

• They let Bianca investigate to appease German govt as she wasn't seemingly going to get far enough but shut it down when she made the Duggan link.

• The head of 6 was therefore the mole, but an official / sanctioned one.

• UDC's partner is in on it, my guess being bribed, threatened or paid off.

• The Jackal somehow realises he's stopped River and feels awful about it and tries to launch it using the millions he's made. Maybe forces the boyfriend to help him.

• Spanish BIL will die, either by the Jackal, the gangsters or maybe even Nuria if she's forced to choose. He definitely needs to go 😂

Bianca tracks down the Jackal to Spain and Nuria is taken hostage by Bianca / used as bait.

• the Jackal and Bianca shoot each other but he dies and she lives. Which will be v unrealistic. Probably involves a scene between them where they are talking about good Vs bad which we've been hit over the head with.

• ends with cheesy scene with Bianca in hospital with her partner and kid, as the River release hits the news headlines.

There's another series so I think we can assume Jackal lives!

One thing that's confused me is that Bianca has never seen a picture of Alexander Duggan. But why not? If he was in the army then surely his picture, date of birth, medical records etc would all be available at the touch of a button. So if all this information has disappeared or is being blocked then surely the only conclusion she can draw is that MI6 are protecting him?
