Who were all those people? Have I missed a week?

nokidshere · 05/11/2024 21:59

I've just started watching tonight's episode. Why are Monica & gregg tasting Marcus's food but Marcus & gregg don't taste Monica's? They didn't last week either?

ShamedBySiri · 05/11/2024 21:59

Haha Esma
Should I admit to being sacked from my first job in a kitchen?
I cooked the wrong puddings from a menu for a different day Grin

Not helped by the fact I drained the chip fryer, cleaned it and poured the still hot oil back in forgetting to shut the flu. The owner went nuts! GrinGrinGrin

It's a bugger to get the floor completely oil free and safe to walk on.

I’m just signing in because I missed the beginning of this series but I’ve caught up too much and I’m now an episode ahead.

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 05/11/2024 22:00

I'm off, it's all the US shitshow.

Novaavon · 05/11/2024 22:01

I was crying at the olive in the chocolate mousse. Tv gold.

gingercat02 · 05/11/2024 22:10

Wow, that was a bit of a car crash!
Love Mons raviolo (and mushrooms), jealous of Marcus's stuffed courgette flowers, I can never get mine at the right stage.

The smash it York guy just smashed it all wrong.

The first lad needs to be good to keep up with his ego, half cooked spuds won't cut it with Marcus and Mon.

Gail's food looks really different and interesting. Was it her cling film melting or the plastic box (or both)?

The SA woman was messy and slapdash, which never seems to bode well for a chef.

I used to run a commercial kitchen and I can't tell you how many times oil ended up all over the floor when the fryers were cleaned. I never sacked anyone over it - I viewed it as a learning curve because most people only did it once! 😂 Nightmare to clean though...

Oh Steve, Steve, Steve. Are you sure this career is for you?

Well, the chef at his restaurant left and he HAD to step in, it’s not like he could have gone and hired another chef…

Davros · 05/11/2024 23:09

I've just caught up with tonight's episode. The right ones went through but I did like Kirsty. Her food was not good enough though and I didn't like her voice! The skills tests are silly, Marcus and Mon can do a good job in 20 minutes because they know what they have to cook. Could be 20 takes too 🎬

Sunbird24 · 05/11/2024 23:12

Think this is what happened to Steve in the skills test…

Just caught up - I’m sure they would have served plastic if only the chef had noticed the spatula melting.

Caught up now so ready for tonight. I know Steve had a mare but none of them were great. Hoping for better things tonight.

Oh god please let them not be as bad

GrouchyKiwi · 07/11/2024 19:28

Half of me wants them to be terrible for the lols, the other half wants competence in the kitchen, thank you very much.

I dont mind a bit of daftness but it was off the charts Tuesday. As I said to mam this is not the 'me' version, it's the 'professional' version. They are supposed to be competent already. There was a lot of not competentness going on Tuesday.

jay55 · 07/11/2024 20:01

Evening. Just caught up on Tuesdays, raw potato was a new one. Made a change from lamb.

I hate aubergine unless it's deep fried

fourquenelles · 07/11/2024 20:01

What ho! Evening all

PotterHead1985 · 07/11/2024 20:02

Ritchie kinda even looks like Rich from 5!!

Blueberrycreampie · 07/11/2024 20:03

Gregg stating the bleeding obvious again,

EsmaCannonball · 07/11/2024 20:03

Aubergine. No.

GrouchyKiwi · 07/11/2024 20:03

I love aubergine.

PotterHead1985 · 07/11/2024 20:04

Don't like aubergine myself. Too soft

fourquenelles · 07/11/2024 20:04

Ignorant question but what is miso? Is it a yeast? I know I can Google but I can't be arsed
