I just can't understand why these parents will swear and shout at their kids to get them riled up to fight.

just flicked over and saw that poor little girl almost in tears as she went in to the ring. what's that all about?

usernametaken · 24/04/2008 21:11

OMG, those poor kids.
Talk about pushed from an early age. If this isn't the sporting equivilant of academic hot-housing, then what is it?

Beauregard · 24/04/2008 21:12

I am just

themoon66 · 24/04/2008 21:12

that mum was scary... talking about how much she enjoyed spreading some other woman's nose all over her face in a fight... nice

staryeyed · 24/04/2008 21:13

Its mad. They are disgusting sick people. I wish their kids could be taken off them.

Beauregard · 24/04/2008 21:14

That Ty's dad looked like he was bragging when he said that in Bancock his son fight without guards and kicks to the head etc is allowed
Then it showed home video of his son being kicked in the head.

themoon66 · 24/04/2008 21:14

Am shocked that they don't appear to wear any head protection at all.

Beauregard · 24/04/2008 21:15

I always thought that it was a parents gut instinct to protect their child not push them crying into a fight.

ViolentFemme · 24/04/2008 21:18

It's making me feel sick watching it. Disgusting. Scumbags all of those people who are part of it.

usernametaken · 24/04/2008 21:19

Talk about living your life through your child.
Shocking.

ViolentFemme · 24/04/2008 21:21

How can this child abuse be condoned?

LittleMissBliss · 24/04/2008 21:21

I mean i think it's good to encourage children to do sports, but contact fighting at the age of 5 is just wrong.

I glanced at this title then had to stop and read it again - is it what it sounds like?
What is wrong with people?

Wezzle · 24/04/2008 21:22

Watched the first 5 minutes and then had to leave the room

DP still watching it

ingles2 · 24/04/2008 21:23

I just knew there would be a thread on this!!!!!!!

I can't believe it!
Horrible

LittleMissBliss · 24/04/2008 21:25

I've always wanted to be a champ, its as good as saying it to my son...wtf

chankins · 24/04/2008 21:27

Its disgusting to me - but what I have the biggest problem with is the no protective head gear - it seems madness to risk your child getting seriously brain damaged !

smartiejake · 24/04/2008 21:28

This is child abuse. SS should be involved. Especially taking the boy to Thailand so they play by Thai rules- i.e. being allowed to kick the opponent in the head. Little boy who was taken was asked where he preferred fighting. "Here because you don't get hurt" Are these parents not listening.

The parents of the little girl said they wanted her to be able to stick up for herself! Why's that then? In case another pigtailed little girly hits her with her Barbie doll!

Absolutely disgraceful!

This is disgusting, the parents are foul people who do nothing but perpetuate the normality of violence for their kids. I have had to turn this off.
What is the difference between this and the mothers who were prosecuted for filming their kids fighting in Plymouth last year??

FAQ · 24/04/2008 21:32

I can just about tolerate the older (8+) children doing it, contact rugby usually starts at around 7/8yrs old and risk of injury is high there too.

However the attitude of these parents is disgusting, their children aren't in it because they enjoy it, they're in it because the parents enjoy it.

Whooosh · 24/04/2008 21:34

It's just liek dog fighting.

Bloody awful and ridiculous adults trying to gain some sort of money"notoriety" through their children.
Am truly apalled.

Whooosh · 24/04/2008 21:36

That poor little girl-seemed like all she wanted to be was a "princess" but knew she would only get approval if she knocked seven bells out of another girl...sick....really sick.
