DS did compete in karate when he was 7, but they would have both been disqualified for hitting that hard!

i saw about 5 minutes of a little girl being shouted at to get in teh ring and fight, whilst she cried her little heart out. she clearly didn't want to do it but didn't want to disapoint her father.

All the parents involved should be ashamed of themselves, i find it disgusting.

Full contact like that must be a foul surely?

agree that its disgusting. We're not allowed to train dogs to fight, but we can train kids to? Something really not right there (oh - and I don't WANT to be allowed to train dogs to fight by the way!!!)

you aren't allowed (quite rightly) to physically chastise your child unreasonably - but you're allowed to train them and urge them on to kick hell out of another child????

This is extreme. I almost can't watch. Those children should be taken away from their parents.

I just can't stand all the shouting and screaming at the kids. telling them thier crap. It's awful.

having said that - dh was doing judo at about 7 or 8, but there's no direct strikes in judo. it's locks and holds and things.

there is no way on god's green earth i would allow ds to do this. not. a. chance.

My son (10yrs) went to our local wrestling club until recently. At first he really enjoyed it. They teach proper Olympic style wrestling not the rubbish on the tv.

They really put the kids through their paces at first with the warming up session which my son enjoyed. He is a little bit overweight and the knob man who runs the club repeatedly announced which child was overweight and how they would never be able to wrestle because you have to be skinny?????

Eventually, on our last night, my son stood up and said 'I'm not coming back here again, you make people feel sad if they are heavy and the skinny lads here are nutters who want to wrestle like on the telly.'

The parents at the wrestling are equally as bad as those on the tv programme - living their dreams through their kids.

Your son is a brave lad Shabster. Good for him. Hope he finds a sport that is more accomodating.

This programme made me feel sick.

It made me feel sick too. I think its child abuse. Wasn't someone prosecuted recently for videoing their fighting and putting it on youtube? How is this any different?

Have just watched in disbelief. The parents are thugs trying to bring up little thugs. It broke my heart to see those little boys. Sick.
