@PayYourselfFirst Theories are fine as are guess work

I also did think they might have done the colours over their heads

Would have been a nice touch !!

Not sure about Nish tbh
It felt rather ' final ' but then I've thought that before with storylines and then the characters all come back. I hope this is the end of the six one , but who knows !

XxSideshowAuntSallyx · 01/11/2024 17:49

I don't think that's the end of Nish either, far too convenient. Too many people know as well.

Every murderer gets dealt with eventually, even Stacey ended up in prison for killing Archie.

the80sweregreat · 01/11/2024 17:52

That took around a year for Stacey to confess to Archie's demise.
I was surprised at that one as I always thought it was Peggy.

1975wasthebest · 01/11/2024 17:55

I’m pretty sure every character who’s killed another resident in the square has seen justice some way or another.

None of them have money

I have no idea how the pub pays wages for 4 people - 5 including tracey

And Elaine is always giving free drinks away or shouting drinks are on the house!

iknowimcoming · 01/11/2024 22:19

Haven't been on here for AGES but had to come and say - is that it then? Is it really over? Was starting to think it was going to be this xmas's big storyline too - well maybe it will I guess? Totally agree Jean is being scammed - not sure how or by who though Confused

Gingerkittykat · 01/11/2024 23:00

I think it will be the big story for the 40th anniversary next year.

And Elaine has happily absorbed the costs of putting up Kojo (who came to the U.K. as a tourist for a short visit but is now able to just stay indefinitely without any issues it seems)

the80sweregreat · 02/11/2024 09:07

Jeans scam is strange as they wrote to her ( must have forged a letter head ) and had her maiden name too. Which makes it sound as if it's a pension she had when she started working and so on. A friend of mine had a similar thing once, but it wasn't a scam , just policies she had forgotten about years ago and they tracked her down. So it's not always dodgy ( although this probably is )
Not sure why she doesn't try and cash it in or ask Stacey or someone to have a look into it. She knows Jack fairly well , he could help with it ?
She was on an i pad , so a quick google would show her something to indicate if it's genuine or not too? Which of course is all ' common sense ' approach ' they don't have on EE

1975wasthebest · 02/11/2024 09:31

Have to say I’ve always felt judgmental about people who fall for scams, though I suppose some are vulnerable rather than stupid. And I suppose some people aren’t as familiar with letters from the DWP as others.

the80sweregreat · 02/11/2024 10:15

Forgeries are very good these days and Jean has never had any money or investments before ( or many dealings with banks or insurance companies or pensions I suppose ) so seeing a letter that mentioned her maiden name probably made it look even more authentic and so on.
She is usually quite sharp about things generally , but I can see why she was duped here ( especially as it's a letter and not a call or text )

1975wasthebest · 02/11/2024 10:25

I suppose she’s out of the loop re DWP and working so I suppose it’s plausible in her case. I know I would google the number before calling, and would google the official DWP number, but can see why someone like her wouldn’t.

lazymum99 · 02/11/2024 10:31

This was supposed to be a private pension. So nothing to do with the DWP.
I actually got a pleasant surprise recently with a pension I’d paid into for 6 years starting in the late 80s. But I needed to change my name on it and it was a bit of a fiddle otherwise didn’t match my national ins details. I also asked around about whether to take a tax free lump sum etc.
I can’t understand people who just go ahead without any research. It’s all there on the internet.

the80sweregreat · 02/11/2024 10:46

It's not always scams , but I suppose this one with Jean may well be.
Be nice if it's not , but reinvestment of the money does sound a bit odd.

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/11/2024 10:58

And the man calling her love

OP posts:
lazymum99 · 02/11/2024 10:59

If there is no pension and no one has any spare cash sitting around I have no idea what they can scam her out of.
if there is a pension then a scam makes more sense

the80sweregreat · 02/11/2024 11:02

She said that she worked years ago, so might not be a scam ( although investing 12k in a tea plantation in Australia is a bit weird / odd)

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/11/2024 10:31

I did think Teddy was a bit silly saying to Barney let's truant school

Will Bianca finally catch reiss out

Think he downloaded the clip to his laptop ?

OP posts:
the80sweregreat · 05/11/2024 10:42

Considering that Teddy is clearly a gangster ( all be it a ' gentleman ' one ! ) skipping a day at school is probably normal for him ! I was pleased that Barney said no to his request
I'm intrigued by the mum , she's been mentioned a lot lately and obviously done something to upset Harry and Teddy. Barney is on her side, but makes me wonder what she has done

newtlover · 05/11/2024 19:09

weren't they implying she'd done something he didn't know about?

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/11/2024 19:32

Maybe she killed the gf😂

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 05/11/2024 19:32
