Can't find a new thread on this, so thought I'd start one.

Anyone ready for season 8 of Selling Sunset airing this week?!
I follow Chrishell on Instagram and there seems to be some real drama going off between her, Emma, Chelsea and Nicole.
Also, I didn't realise Chelsea was getting divorced!

Interesting:) I view it as a circus. Why would it make you feel bad about yourself and not someone filled with fillers and silicon up to eye-balls.

@Urgenthelplease I don’t think it should make you feel bad. When youngish you can just about get away with the fillers but there comes a time that stuff starts to look strange and lumpy with repeated procedure. It’s creating problems down the line. I’m all for trying to look your best but you have to be really careful. I’ve had a tummy tuck and breast implants and I regret both of those surgeries for different reasons. I don’t like ageing much but if the choice is between looking old and looking weird I’m taking weird.

I hated the way Bre took the flak for Chelsea's husband. It was never outward said that the rumours were true, but they must've been as Chelsea filed for divorce.
I don't understand how the filming works, but surely Chelsea could've asked the producers not to air the scenes with Bre given the implications for other people (her husband that can't defend himself). I think she wanted it aired to garner sympathy. I also read that her husband cited physical abuse from Chelsea.

I like Bre and think Chrishell knew that Emma and Chelsea were in the wrong but didn't want to lose the friendship.

I get the impression from the social media of the cast, particularly Chrishelle and Chelsea, that a lot was kept from them and they didn’t know what was being aired until they saw the screenings last week

It doesn’t surprise me, being reality tv but you would think in America with the risk of being sued is much higher, the producers would have been more careful

Or they could all be in it together and this social media war is just good PR

It deffo seemed from all the interviews that they didn't know the Emma rumour was going to be featured and such a focus.
And they really did keep the groups apart for those discussions.

Oh gosh I know lots of people don’t like Chelsea but that was very upsetting, how humiliating. Can’t help but think of her children. We all sit here munching the popcorn but their parents implosion up there for all to see on Netflix is pretty awful isn’t it.

I thought Chelsea’s husband was a total oddball tbh, and I think underneath it all Chelsea is quite a sweet woman. I hope she’s all right.

Nicole getting the vapors over having to apologetics was particularly funny to me.

the twins have never appeared more normal than when they were trying to convince her that apologies shouldn’t come with ‘but’.

And I’m warming to Bre. These women are undoubtedly fucked up from living in the cesspool that is LA, but there are hearts and souls in there trying to be real people.

This series blew my mind for two reasons.
#1 being the complete over reaction to the sad death of a dog.
I love dogs as much as the next person, but surely that was performative grieving?
Must admit it did have me in tears initially when the dog died but subsequent scenes culminating in the funeral had me in stitches 😂

#2 was the appearance of Joey Essex looking for a $6 million dollar pad that he couldn't possibly afford (I know this cos I'm over invested so googled his net worth 😂)
But he was a welcome addition.
DD and I think he'll become the newest addition to the team next series, that would be seriously mental!
Does anyone even know who he is in the US??

I've watched a few more episodes now. Love how Nicole was all apologetic and hyperventilating to Chrishelle and said she hated the thought of hurting anybody etc and then starts bitchy rumours about Emma despite both Mary and Amanza looking super uncomfortable

I feel sorry for Chelsea if her husband really is such a shit but that whole staged scene with Chrishelle and Emma and the phone call to Bre was silly. You can almost see the women reeling off their scripts in many scenes. Whereas the twins seem the only ones whose lines are genuinely theirs and not scripted. Their faces sometimes are hilarious listening to the women. Although I do think Jason must be pissed off that Alanna is married as she's just his type 🤣

What was Chelsea wearing at the Joey Essex viewing?!! Her arse cheeks were literally hanging out... imagine walking up the stairs to view the primary suite behind her?!

I thought it was very cringey when Emma (randomly?) arrived at that viewing and they're all giggling. I doubt he could afford that house - it's all so staged.

The 'drama' was very manufactured.

Loved Bree's hat at the funeral - imagine turning up to a funeral in that here!!

I like Crishelle....she is absolutely beautiful. I do think Chelsea looks like a drag queen. Her boobs look very stretched... all the false boobs look silly - imagine walking into your office with your boobs pushed out and up so far! I could see why Mary was annoyed with her at their co-listing...turning up an hour late and with no pants..

I love the houses...and I think California looks amazing. Loved Jason's panic when the girls took his new car for a spin.

I do wonder how much money they make given the commission is split with Jason & Brett. And it must take ages to come through. Can't imagine you'd get a mortgage with a job like that.

It's terrible television but I love it.

I've just watched episode 6 where Chelsea is having dinner with Chrishell and Emma. I don't even understand the conversation at the end where they suddenly decide Bre is a bitch.
I understand it a bit from Chelsea, it's easier to be angry at the messenger etc. But it's weird from the other two.

I’ve just gone back to the beginning of season 1. Crishell looks older in the first season than season eight

Just when you think Chelsea's outfits couldn't get any worse.... what is that rubber monstrosity in episode 11? And are they sweat patches?! 🤢

Amanda is obviously replacing Amanza. I think she's been ready to leave for a while, she's not been in the last couple of seasons much and she's had her health issues. I feel she's someone who prefers to spend time with her kids rather than bitching and creating drama so she's probably no use to the producers anymore. When Heather got married and pregnant and started steering clear of all the drama she got shoved out.

We watched the whole thing in 2 days too 😂.

Surely Chelsea must have been told the news off camera. The producers have a duty of care. Bre seemed genuine in her thinking about whether to tell her and she did the right thing. I’m team Bre too. Not liking Amanda though!

Emma is lowkey nasty and seems to have become shriekier this season.

I like Alanna, she’s sensible, smart Nd so elegant. I hope the others don’t turn her into a birch.

Brett and Jason are hopeless as bosses (although they must have something about them to have built such an empire) they just watch on and say nothing. It wasn’t Mary that called Chelsea out infront of the bosses, Brett (I think!) brought it up infront of them both instead of waiting until Mary had gone and having a quiet word with Chelsea. I’m also pretty sure they’d be in trouble for sexual harrassment in the real world, especially Jason.

Most of all I wish they’d all just stop shouting over each other!

It is now basically a show about people bitching and fighting in a series of beautiful houses, rather than any attempt to pretend it's even slightly about property.

About the Chelsea and Bre thing. I read today on E news (I thjnk) that Bre had gone to Emma and told her and ask if she could tell Chelsea as they were close friends and she refused.

Apparently Chrishell has sold 5 houses in the last year, Mary 4, Bre 2.
So some of them are still working the real estate side.

I was always a bit dubious that the potential buyers were genuine. But now we have had Joey bloody Essex being “interested” in a $5 million house then it has proved to me it’s a bunch of nonsense

I wouldn’t be surprised if it comes out that the are not even licensed realtors

Bre has said she told Chelsea off camera in December (and both Chrishell and Emma) and apparently in a live Chelsea admitted that she knew before filming and set up the scene where Bre told her about it. I haven’t seen the live but might watch it on YouTube to confirm!

I imagine she and her husband were already separated during filming and that’s why there’s the whole narrative of her not speaking to her husband about it yet so she could 1) not divulge too much on camera 2) File for divorce right after the season drops for maximum coverage.

@MiddleClassProblem so basically all the fighting is for nothing 😂🙈 (well for the camera!). I thought it was silly as you’re meant to believe you’re watching them go about their lives so all the talk of cameras was off putting anyway.

And yes the Joey Essex thing was so set up! He’s just been on Love Island so obviously needs the money/ exposure.

I think it was filmed before love island. Huge props to Joey's agent, manager etc as they really do leave no reality show unturned.
