Just got in to see that Jack has won - wow! I saw him earlier having to explain his shirt - Tim wouldn't understand!

I also saw a picture earlier of Anna Wintour wearing a coat that was similar to Jack's shirt so maybe she would get on with Marion

So we have a Jack-Jannik semi final. I would like them both to win! Realistically I think Jannik is going to be too strong for Jack.

And surprised to see Iga has been knocked out - maybe the home crowd support for Pegula put Iga off?

I was disappointed to see Iga had lost, Jess Pegula is another I can't warm to. To be honest, I'm not too fussed by the results in the women's tournament now. I think I'd like Karolina Muchova to win it out of those left, but I can't say I'm too bothered.

Feel a bit sorry for Daniil , I was edging towards him going through slightly after the final last year. Was a tospy turvy scoreline though. Happy for Jannik, though he has a permanently peaky look about of late( might be my Sky signal!).

I thought Pegula might win. I read that the crowds are being even more raucous this year and are definitely swinging it for the American players. I can't warm to Pegula either.

DS and I called a Sinner win in 4 but those first 3 sets appear to have been very one sided The 4th set obviously was a closer scoreline (but maybe they were trading breaks in that aswell).

kazza the crowds have been especially partisan this year (I know it's the US, and this happen at all the tournaments- RG French fans are very vocal)- but there there are now more US players acros both the men and women's side than there have been for a while- and the fans are actually putting the beer down to support then (occasionally).

Aryna is probably thinking she could use a break- after Coco in the final last year, and now Emma Navarro in the semi final this year year- and (if she gets that far - Pegula in the final).

The US audiences will be very disappointed if they end up with an Aryna/Karolina final (which would be my preference).

Can you imagine if it had ended up with Tiafoe/ Fritz as a final as well? At least that can't happen.

The Americans do seem to have done well this year

It sounds as if yesterday's matches were all a bit weird - when Iga loses it always seems to be relatively easily - a bit like her wins - there's no in between

I think they all seem a bit peaky or injured - I think they're all just knackered! maybe tennis should just have a two month break to let them all rest and recover but that's not going to happen

I think it was Iga who has said that the tennis calendar is too full? And got a bit of stick for it (from Kafelnikov, iirc, who said she shouldn't get paid so much,and she didn't have to play. Except she does- there are now 21 mandatory tournaments on the WTA tour- 5 years ago, there were 15. )

It is getting a bit out of hand. They all seem to be picking up bugs and illnesses (as well as injuries) constantly. The tournaments appear to be breeding grounds for bugs!

I couldn’t sleep in the night so listened to some of the Daniil-Jannik match on the radio. It was a really weird match, it wasn’t until the 4th set that both players were showing up at the same time. Jannik is clearly the heavy favourite for the title now, I actually think Jack might give him more trouble than either of the American players.

I’m also fairly ambivalent about who wins the women’s title - I like Aryna so would be happy for her to win but would also be nice for someone else to get their first slam. I don’t have strong feelings either way about any of the other three.

I definitely feel there are too many tournaments and they are getting worn out.

I'd love Jack and Karolina to win.

Playing an American means playing the crowd as well. I can understand a home crowd supporting their own players but the reason it annoys me here is that they seem to know nothing about the individual players and are just shouting USA, USA like it's the Olympics.

Laura said when Jack was about to win his match the people sitting behind her who had been talking all through the match suddenly got interested in who he was and were scrolling back through his Instagram and chatting about all his posts!

There was a bit in one of the matches the other day where the commentators were saying who should take the rest of the year off to rest and recuperate physically and mentally. It was a loooong list!

They were saying that about Rublev a while ago, after his self harm antics with his racquet.

It's not going to happen with most.

Erm... no, Sky have been showing repeats - the mixed doubles final starts on Ashe at about 8pm, it seems to be all junior matches before that.

Talking of which, had my follow-up with the surgeon today. Apparently, no more big C in my little boob and it hasn't spread. Unfortunately, one of the wounds is a bit infected, so on antibiotics and popping ibuprofen and paracetamol to try to soften the pain and discomfort
