I've just had a small epiphany NOT A SPOILER and wonder if all this nonsense is to get Super-Sonia a brief stay in the mother and baby unit at HMP Walford where she will, naturally bump into Ruby (who was mentioned last night and we all know what that means!!) and discover that Ruby has had Martins baby - tadaaaa!

That was a shock, I was fully expecting Debbie to wake up as Sonia was pushing her baby into the world.

Sonia visited Debbie in the morning, surely someone will have checked on her after that and seen she was still alive.

It wouldn't be much. Main actors may have decent fees that they can make a living on ( operates on a sliding scale depending in popularity, storyline, time spent on show, ....). But the supporting cast or extras would be paid much less. Then it would depend on wether Debbie would be considered an actor or an extra. I suspect that the reason that Winston or Tracey are quasi mute is because on episodes where they talk they have to be paid as an actor as opposed to an extra. That used to be one of the criteria, if you said more than X words you had to be paid as an actor not an extra. But that was over 20yrs ago, rules might have changed. Does she appear in the credits, if yes, she is probably getting the actor rate. But it wouldn't as much as Reiss and certainly less than Sonya.
