That house really has a wow kitchen. They'd still need to spend a bit on reconfiguring the lift though. Garden was gorgeous.

Not keen on any of the flats they're showing the first timers. No mention of the pitfalls of buying ex council properties (might be liable for huge capital works costs if the building is council owned). Still it's a good area I guess and converted victorians or more modern flats would be a £100K more.

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/11/2024 20:55

Don't like the flats

As always it's about location

First house lovely but as London don't get much for money

I loved the second house

Third house ok

Tho do hate offers over

Just name your price

Glad the FTBs bought the first flat. Although do think it may have been ex-LA. That's why there were bigger rooms.

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/11/2024 22:45

The house the other couple finally bought , think they said it was one Phil listed for them so he was found to show it but did t is that's right ?

Yes, they said it was on the shortlist. I always wonder how it works, do they actually only show them three or four properties? And as they'll need permission to film I presume they're not necessarily showing them the "best" houses, presumably some sellers turn them down for filming. I was surprised they bought something, I said to DD they're not going to buy anything, but obviously I was wrong! Can't say either of us really warmed to them.

I agree that I didn't think they were going to spend their £1m budget on anything!

Romeiswheretheheartis · 07/11/2024 07:21

I was surprised the couple bought the first flat. They'd been definite about wanting outside space/ a balcony, and a bathroom with a window, neither of which it had. I think after the initial few months they'll regret not having them.

I thought the very same. No outside space and no window in the bathroom.
I thought they were non negotiables for them.

I would hate not having outside space.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/11/2024 09:23

@MurielThrockmorton yes obv need to have owners permission to Film

They may not want their house on national tv and comments made about jt

Tho also if want it sold ......

Yes no outdoor space or bathroom window (stinky poos or after a shower and steamy) even with fans - I want a window

I thought the 2nd flat was the best - it had a nice feel - new bathroom and it would have been lovely.

lingmerth · 09/11/2024 23:17

Both the lounge and bedroom in the flat were south facing. They'll swelter on the summer.

I think it was very much about location in the end - it's hard to really appreciate when you don't know the area and you are just watching on TV because you tend to focus on what the house or flat is like. The couple clearly knew the location very well and knew exactly where they wanted to be. In the case of the other two who were looking at the houses, there is a big difference between St Albans, Radlett and Friern Barnet - none of which were areas either of them appeared to know very well. Unsurprisingly they ended up going for something in a more familiar location. The title of the show says it all really.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/11/2024 14:55

Yep like the title

It's all about location location location 😂😂

That's why I love seeing it when know the area and shout at the tv noooooooo not that one

There was an episode of Love it or List it which came from a neighbouring town. The couple stated wanted to stay local yet one house although beautiful was in a not very nice suburb a good 45 minutes away, another was somewhere I hadn’t heard of and I’ve lived in the area most of my life.

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/11/2024 14:13

E5 tonight

A bloody catch up ffs

So only 4 new episodes and they start repeating 50mins of the show

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

Zoe and Jason in Edinburgh who had a million and Ahmad and Lois at their unrecognisable abide in Sheffield

I'm clearly far too old because I was concerned the house couple weren't putting enough thought into local schooling.

When they said they wanted more house for their money in St Albans all I kept thinking was that the schools are excellent and that's reflected in the price ....

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/11/2024 17:10

Maybe they don't really think hard enough

Good schools means higher prices or least do in south east

My road near a school - would get maybe £50k more then one similar by a crappy school

I think the ex pats ended up with a flat in a Victorian house unless I've mixed them up

I do kinda R.E.M. the couple and 2 kids

I think I remember this Scottish couple being fussy.

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/11/2024 22:49

Yes very

I'm
Just pissed off had 4 episodes then catch ups

Was the same last series as well I'm sure

I must have missed the episodes where those two couples house searches were featured so for me last night's episode was a new one Smile

Personally I thought the Sheffield couple chose the wrong house,
I thought the third house was better for them and their growing family but I don't know Sheffield or areas within it and they seemed very happy with their choice.

The Edinburgh couple did a lovely refurbishment.

hopeishere · 14/11/2024 11:12

I agree about the young couple surely a house with a decent garden would be better.

The Scottish renovation was stunning but ££££!!

I think they said 2020 at the start. So the end of covid lockdown 1

@Blondeshavemorefun

I could have sworn the Edinburgh family ended up in a flat. So there definitely must have been another family of ex pats looking in Edinburgh over the years
