I really loved Ben's work on week 1 but I don't think he's come close to matching it since. He may have peaked too early. I do like him though.
Francesca is incredibly irritating with her silly voices and daft face pulling, but that's not the main thing. The main thing is that her interiors style absolutely sucks and her colour choices are awful. I feel like she can only design spaces that small children would like. She's just not capable of sophistication or understatement. Having your 'fun' signature style is all very well but I don't think she's really capable of listening to a client brief and adapting.
That woman's trousers were a beautiful soft taupe/buff colour and Francesca gave her sickly peach-pink instead. Those cork covered banquettes were badly made and would have got SO dirty and greasy in a café. They'd be minging within a few weeks.
I don't care whose idea the teeny tiny chairs were, they should not have been allowed to progress. Absolutely stupid decision from both of them, where they just didn't think about the practicalities.
I love Matt. I'm always blown away by how elegant and evolved his style is, for one so young. He is never tempted to do too much, just to show off. He has the confidence to keep things simple and that takes real skill. He worked fantastically well with Roisin even though her style is quite busy and OTT for him, so he obviously has a really mature attitude and the ability to adapt and compromise.
I think Roisin is talented but all that bright, floral maximalism is just too much for me. She needs to rein it in a bit.
I like Anthony but this week's was not my favourite of his. I didn't think that black and white graphic print really sat well with the overall scheme.
