No. He'll probably retrain, in one month, as a creche owner and open a creche unit*.

*Doesn't matter these aren't a thing.

A crèche unit. No Jacob will become an expert in attachment theory and start running his own child therapy centre which half of the kids from Holby A&E will be referred to following their unlikely accidents.

Oh good one - that's more likely. Even in Holby.

Oh I'm going to have to watch it now

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · 08/06/2024 21:16

There was a trigger announcement before the episode began.

UsernameChangerRanger · 08/06/2024 21:38

It's been a while since I've been this upset by an episode.

That totally gave the plot away. We could have had the warning without the details. I thought Dylan was nice to Patrick about it not just being his fault. And I'm glad we still don't know about Dylan's diagnosis in real life we don't know everyone's diagnosis and have to take people as we find them for the most part.

hoarahloux · 08/06/2024 22:47

I haven't had a good Casualty cry like that in several years, that was fun

hoarahloux · 08/06/2024 22:49

They must have pepper sprayed Tariq's actor to get that performance out of him. For a fairly mid actor so far he was incredible.

And the kick in the teeth is that Jacob isn't leaving after all

Cattyisbatty · 08/06/2024 22:56

That was sad. Good for Dylan for getting on the phone to Patrick’s new employee though…

Rash got the tears started but this news had them flowing

Yes it seems the solution to the babies attachment issues is to move with Grandad into a house with two strangers who will all share looking after him dependent on shifts etc. Brilliant plan.

RJnomore1 · 09/06/2024 09:13

I managed to miss the trigger warning faffing around getting a drink etc. so I was completely unprepared. I really like rash and he’s been through so much.

Mysa74 · 09/06/2024 09:25

That was a very well written episode to my mind. Very powerful. I wish I'd not noticed the trigger warning, I thought it might've been Patrick for a few moments. One of the things I like about casualty is that it all comes as a shock, no real spoilers, eg jeff. Really felt for Ian too tonight. I'd almost forgotten that he'd been there too until he spoke to Tariq. I love that he tried to explain, to ease the pain without making it all about him. Get well soon Rash, your colleagues are true friends and you have a shift to finish, lol.

AllRevvedUpWithNoPlaceToGo · 09/06/2024 09:38

This felt like the Casualty of old, lots of surprises and packed a punch

xxSideshowAuntSallyxx · 09/06/2024 20:09

I was out last night so have just watched it. That made me cry, poor Rash. I thought Tariq was good last night, and the nice little touch at the end when him and Rida were reciting something.

I loved the Life of Brian bit too.

So Teddy is suspended, he can look after Carter no need for Jacob and Jan to faff about with shifts😂.

Seanbeansontoast · 09/06/2024 21:53

That was a really well done episode, I liked Ian’s involvement given what he went through himself and wonder if that’s why he was there

WelcomeMarchwithwintrywind · 09/06/2024 22:09

When I heard the detailed announcement before the programme I thought , “Well that’s spoiled that, then,” but as I watched the programme I was glad I knew and could watch everything building up to it.

The Spartacus section had me in tears. I appreciated that Patrick named it, but it wasn’t laboured.

daffodilandtulip · 09/06/2024 22:55

I watched on catch up so didn't get a warning. It was all done so well, agree about Tariq suddenly being able to act. Ian was brilliant.

As was Dylan, of course 😂, and loved how he called his next job to warn them!

spiderlight · 09/06/2024 22:55

Dylan getting his autism diagnosis was very emotional for me. I'm glad he addressed it in his usual understated way. I hope his character doesn't change too much now.

But we don't know what the leter said do we?

xxSideshowAuntSallyxx · 10/06/2024 06:38

I think he isn't which he knew and which was why we didn't get to find out . He's just Dylan with his ways. I don't think we're going to find out what the letter said either.

The whole point is that he did or didn't. We and no one else know.

I agree, and I think that's another one of the reasons that he then went on to phone Patrick's new hospital.
