how did siiobhan know the man's cancer was back from his blood tests? Hmm

Didn't he have a scan?

Willmafrockfit · 28/04/2024 11:09

is it really her job to tell him though? <<am i taking this too seirously>>

FourLeggedBuckers · 28/04/2024 11:52

I think there are markers for prostate cancer that can be seen in bloods. Whether they’re conclusive or not, but given his history it may well be.

I don’t think Siobhan is the whistleblower- she is one of the most likely to be sacked as she accidentally leaked the footage. It would be a really high risk strategy, with little to gain for her. I don’t think it’s Rash either - he’s too obvious for the writers to choose.

It would be amusing (though rather out of character) if it had been Cam - hoist by his own petard as they chose to use footage of him seeming incompetent. I doubt it though.

The camera in resus situation suggests this is a calculated plan over time rather than just an impulsive sharing of the body cam footage. Patrick is clearly working to an agenda of his own so he’s a seemingly plausible option. It’s odd though.

What I'm finding hard to believe is that there have been very few comments over the last few episodes, for it to have been reported in such a way that it has! We've had a couple of comments about faulty/broken machinery, lack of beds etc.
Then in the next breath, we have whistle blowing, new staff being odd, scenes of pools of blood on the floor, bloody bed sheets, total chaos going on in casualty...
It doesn't ring true that it's suddenly descended like it has, with very few major scenes leading up to it! It's like they've fast forwarded! And left the build up out! And now we have all the new staff getting involved!
If it gets much dafter and more political, I'll be bowing out of watching. It's not the Casualty I used to love and know now.

FourLeggedBuckers · 28/04/2024 13:06

I’m absolutely here for the daftness. It’s what I love most about Casualty.

One thing I enjoyed in this week’s episode was during the first meeting, someone (Patrick?) mentioned the trust wanting a scapegoat, and the shot cut to Cam looking worried. I mean - bless him, but he’s not scapegoat material 😂 A junior nurse is not going to be held solely accountable for a failing department.

WhatICallMyUsername · 28/04/2024 13:13

I can't believe no one has mentioned Teddy's hair 🤣

purpleme12 · 28/04/2024 13:16

To be fair, someone has mentioned it on here

daffodilandtulip · 28/04/2024 13:28

I think it's Patrick, he's been sent there to shut the place down but it's going to backfire and make him look bad if people listen to Dylan.

Has Teddy been forgotten about or are we awaiting a big Ian style breakdown?

You can see cancer markers in blood tests.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/04/2024 13:34

Just coz the voice over is female it may not be a female whistleblower

Red herring

LIZS · 28/04/2024 13:40

We seem to have skipped a few weeks, with Teddy's hair and the old guy with the heart attack having been discharged then readmitted, yet I thought Patrick said last week that this documentary was being shown that evening. Could this be Charlie's legacy(!) or a random agency nurse, such as the one who got told off a couple of episodes ago, How would they know the outcomes for the documentary? Too much is at stake for Ngozi to do so, Siobhan and even Patrick too obvious.

Yeah see I thought it was an obvious red herring

I did!! I wonder whether it's going to be part of a reinvention arc after the assault/fight club.

WhatICallMyUsername · 28/04/2024 15:00

Oooh sorry @spiderlight I think I must have missed that in the crossover from last night to this morning 😳🫣

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/04/2024 15:42

There is nothing wrong with it but he has it in braids now. He looks quite different I wasnt sure it was him until he spoke.

FourLeggedBuckers · 28/04/2024 16:10

It’s his tough guy fight club look, accessorised with bruises. He suits it!

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/04/2024 20:18

Think that by passed me 😂

WhatICallMyUsername · 28/04/2024 20:29

How did you miss this @Blondeshavemorefun 🤣

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/04/2024 20:43

Erm

Maybe I was multitasking 😂

xSideshowAuntSallyx · 28/04/2024 21:18

I thought we were going to get Teddy's story, but a whole chunk has been missed. Last year when they did Donna's they said there would be a block of episodes dedicated to one person's storyline. We've had Faith's, Steve's, Charlie's. But Jacob and Teddy's seem to have been rushed or forgotten.

purpleme12 · 28/04/2024 21:19

I don't think Teddy's story has been left.
Just that this episode didn't concentrate on that. Which I think is fine.

I don't really feel like there's anything missing from Jacob's story. I'm sure that we'll hear more from him and his grandson soon

FourLeggedBuckers · 28/04/2024 21:23

It’s really common in Casualty to switch between storylines / characters on a weekly basis. The fact that Teddy was covered in bruises suggests his storyline hasn’t been shelved, it’s just on the back burner. They’ll probably pick it up next week.

Last we saw of Teddy he was about to get involved in organised street fights.

Now we see him with his hair braided and with bruises. I think they're trying to get us to infer that it's directly after, or more time has passed and he's still doing it. Nothing's been missed, it just relies on the audience being able to interpret what they haven't directly been told.

bizzey · 29/04/2024 01:04

I forgot Teddy had got into the fight club stuff

Me too. Even when I saw the cut next to his eye! I just thought wonder why that's not been mentioned.

Honestly I think I should be cast in Casualty, as I could easily play a patient with a 5min memory!!
