Sara is awful and not half as attractive as she thinks she is. Very twisty. Tim seems on high alert for shit behaviour so hopefully won't put up with it long. He's given her the benefit of the doubt a few times and I think is getting bored. Can't get a great read on him but he doesn't seem a bad guy.

I do believe quite a bit of what Collins said even if it was damage limitation and perhaps not the full picture- the stuff about what he said to camera that wasn't shown, Nat crying and the time spent apart must be verifiable so I don't think he was lying about it being a very biased edit even if it was a weird set up. Not sure if he's angling for more reality work giving his side, big brother etc.

Richard is too sweet to be wholesome for my money. I think we're getting his wise-twinkly-elder-on-a-motorbike motivational speech persona. He's also too keen to talk about sex in detail for someone with at least 4 young adult kids to consider in the mix. Not considerate.

I don't think Ellie buys Ben's epiphany but is too mild mannered to just gather her stuff and leave. I thought at the start that the cousin had based his views on more than we've seen, rather than being weird.

I think there's still an element of Tori wanting to win hence giving it large about how great things are but Jack's laughing at her. Not nice to see.

I'm hoping it's not a thin line between love and hate for Jack and Lauren. She's too good for him even if she does want more unpredictability than Jonno has. Like him though. Wouldn't be for me but he seems solid in who he is, smart and fun.

Have just caught up with the thread and had to add my two cents about Jayden. Like many of you, I found his confession repulsive and disturbing - it raises all manner of question marks about consent, coercion and abuse and I really wondered why the ex and her friend would go along with this, because it wasn't a tit for tat 'you shagged my friend so I shagged yours' revenge, nor was it some kind of kink where all parties wanted to be involved - it was a thought-up 'punishment'.

I noticed that he kept saying the ex went on 'dinner dates and movie dates' with people etc and it did make me wonder whether this is another case of an extremely controlling man fabricating/inflating the cheating and actually what the ex did was DARE to go for dinner with a male friend or something, and this was the punishment. I may be reading too deeply into it but I found it really disturbing and thought surely if the ex was such a flagrant serial cheater, she wouldn't be desperate enough to keep him that she'd go along with this. Sounds more like someone worn down by abuse. Again might be a reach but the whole thing was very dark and I think he should be kicked off the show, as much as I like Eden.

All this attempting to brand himself as Mitch's 'nicer' brother - being less pretty than Mitch clearly hasn't made him less awful! And if anything is further proof that he sees himself as a victim and therefore justified in the abuse of others.

Hope that makes sense and sorry to harp on but really can't enjoy the show when he appears now!

Hard agree.

John did go in on Jack and Jayden but not as hard as I’d have liked. In general though they are calling stuff more than before. I’m sure it’s a result of the flak they got from Harrison (and even Bryce). The producer interviews are also edited to include lots of the production team checking that the cast are ‘OK’. Fundamentally though Jack just shouldn’t have been cleared to come on here with his approach to relationships - even in the interview he was saying screwed up stuff. And Jayden should have been thrown out.

Knitgoodwoman · 14/03/2024 10:39

Jack is such a prick, I don't think he fancies her and just likes the control. And if he does fancy her, and he's just leaving her dangling, that's even more sinister. They need to shut couples like this down early doors, or it's just a bunch of friends living together, who just want to raise their social media profiles. The control element and 'I've got her right where I want her' is also super ominous for Tori and her self-esteem.

I found myself agreeing with Collins. She is an emotional wreck with huge issues around her appearance (she reminds me of Anne Hathaway) The way he expresses himself is pretty honest, the extra emotion I think maybe just him genuinely. Or someone is going to tell me I’m wrong as I’m a couple of episodes behind!

Are you on drugs!!!????

rooftopbird · 14/03/2024 11:20

Sara just wants to drink with her girls every night doesn't she!

OoohLovelySlippers · 14/03/2024 11:30

@readytobreakthexbox I think you and I might be soulmates!! Fully agree with your take that Jayden's ex might not have actually cheated. And then I saw u liked my post re Lucinda and Pink Hair getting together!!

CorylusAgain · 14/03/2024 12:23

Sara is definitely messing Tim around.
I think the reason she didn't want him to have her phone was because she's sent messages saying exactly what she thinks of him. And it wouldn't have been nice.
Her turning the blame back on Tim made me very uncomfortable. As pps have said really felt like DARVO. Tim was hurt and angry about her being too hungover to go on the (3rd!) date he'd planned. But she responded as if he'd challenged her going out with the girls. Going out is one thing. Getting so pissed you can't spend time with your 'husband' in this ixperiment is another thing altogether.

NancyPickford · 14/03/2024 12:41

I wouldn't be surprised if Jack was a devotee of Andrew Tate. He says such disturbing things about power, control, dominance, liking submissive types, and having Tori 'just where he likes her'.

TinselAngel · 14/03/2024 12:43

I'd rather peel off my own skin than have sex with Jack.

(Although tubby middle aged women probably aren't his thing either).

Jack is snogging on a bed WEARING SOCKS and TRAINERS.

Bizarre given how infrequently we see socks on men in MAFS

rooftopbird · 14/03/2024 11:17

Are you on drugs!!!????

No. Bit harsh reaction to someone who has a different mindset to you.

Natalie was constantly crying, sad. It was wearing to watch. Collins stood his ground at the commitment ceremony. He also pointed out correctly that Natalie was not in the right state of mind to be in the whole experiment. So whilst he was a bit bizarre he was the most honest one on there.

Timelime · 14/03/2024 13:18

Collins said on the interview that Nat had told him she'd be less homesick if she felt closer to him or something like that. He said it was a lot of pressure. If she'd been matched with someone more attentive and capable of honest connection, she might not have felt alone and sad so quickly. It sounds like he contacted the producers every time she was tearful and someone with more emotional intelligence would have known to give her a hug and say soothing reassuring words.

However, I agree she ought not to have been on the show this year. I still think Collins is autistic and again they matched him with a woman they thought would be patient and desperate enough to do the emotional labour. Neither should have been on the show.

murasaki · 14/03/2024 13:26

It's the fact that the women nearly always seem to be chosen to fix malfunctioning men that pisses me off. I'm struggling to think of one the other way round. Women are not service bots.

Unless Tim is this year's effort towards Sara, but it hasn't been explicitly said and it nearly always is for the women.

Whatever Collins's issues or intentions (I have no idea), I would have been very wary about building emotional and physical closeness like that with someone so vulnerable and potentially having to let them down romantically in public.

The whole thing was built on a 'wedding' at which Natalie had been in turns giddily excited and in tears. So, I'm not saying Collins did the right things (and it doesn't fit with wanting to stay but tbh I've lost track of where they were in their in/out stages then) but hugs and kind words may not have felt as simple as just being casually supportive.

I think he probably did the right thing in raising his concerns with production rather than trying to navigate this situation himself. It Bottom line for me is that she shouldn't have been there.

kenyaswhiterefrigerator · 14/03/2024 15:21

Sara is awful to Tim. She just seems to want to go out with the girls rather than him.

I wonder if she's still hung up on the ex she went back to repeatedly. Habit can be hard to break. It may explain why she was unwilling to give up her phone if they are still in contact

@hoxtonbabe

same with the one that’s unsure about wanting kids.. if you don’t have a clear idea at that age.. BYE! No hanging about to waste my time luv.

Yes he's future faking Ellie who, sadly, hasn't quite recognised it yet, although she may be close. His assertion that he's finally seen the light - after so many years of not being interested - and having children "in the future" isn't something I'd take on trust were I a 32yo woman ready for children sooner, rather than later. 🌹

His revelation was up there in my top ten ‘unconvincing things I’ve seen on TV’ list.

I am giggling at Lucinda and the pyjama top. 'You've got boobs as well.'

Well done. He's fair game. He wants it all his way.

Edited

I loved it when she told the production person "the dude's got boobs".

Tim is an angry, closed up man who needs 1:1 therapy away from the show. He's wasting Lucinda's time I think. 🌹

Tori and Jack were going through a list of things they would and wouldn't do sexually. (yes/no/maybe) You heard the word "golden" and then the next word bleeped out.

Plus Tim saying, at the male workshop with Alessandra, "you know those [hotel] beds are rented don't you?! 🌹

Ellie should have been with Johnno

I thought that too! 🌹

I disagree. I thought her comments about his moobs were spiteful. He’s always said the issue was him; he’s not touchy freely, he doesn’t fancy her yet, he needs it to develop. he’s never slagged her off or pointed out her failings.
His moobs are part of his dad bod. She was just being nasty.

completely agree. I've just caught up, and am shocked at how everyone on here seems to be saying that he's nuts for being annoyed at rebuffing L when she had no top on in bed.

If you flip the situation, if one of the nice guys had been almost pressuring his wife to be more affectionate, more intense, more sexually adventurous - and then went into bed with no pants on, there would be zero posts saying how the wife was being wronged.

I didn’t see it as her being spiteful. I took it that you have breasts/nipples too, so why are you going on about it when it’s just natural part and parcel of the human body in the same way just we have arms, legs, etc.

For instance If Lauren said it I’d be more inclined to see it as an insult but Lu is all about naturalism, inner peace, loving one’s self, crystals and burning sage.

Twonewcats · 14/03/2024 16:39

And how on earth did Jayden get off so lightly on the couch?? Why did nobody mention forcing his ex to watch - when she clearly hadnt wanted to?
Why did nobody ask him why he didnt split from her if he was so hurt - he preferred to be furious and punish her and then stay together. No doubt they brought up each other's infidelity at every turn too.
