Anyone interested in the build up this year? I have been more aware this year as the songs are announced. I like Croatia, Ireland and Finland. Dizzy is hopefully going to do well which makes it exciting - Olli Alexander should be good performing live and he is well known in Europe.

Just reading about the controversy with Israel’s entry and I see that Iceland might send a Palastinian singer.

Ukraine have been the favourites for a while but Croatia is just ahead of them now.

Is this ALL the semi finals or just one (it was just the evening rehearsal last year with a screen performance for the afternoon rehearsal and the live evening semi)

Grand Final draw: Sweden to perform first
The host country’s running order in the Grand Final has been decided by draw today:
Sweden will perform as song number 1 in the Grand Final.
The rest of the qualifying finalists will make a draw in Malmö that will determine in which half of the Grand Final they will perform in. Then the producers will determine the running order for these countries.

This is just about the worst draw Sweden could have got!

I am Dutch and I love the Dutch entry this year.

My siblings have been a fan of Joost for years and have seen him live multiple times. I've been listening to his other music this week and he is very interesting. Underneath his happy sounding music there is a lot of pain, both his parents died when he was in his early teens. Europapa makes references to his father too.

In a sea of sameness, I give you Armenia. Completely bonkers and I'm here for it. Love the video and can't wait to see it live.

Funnily enough one of my all time favourites is Snap and a trip to <checks notes> Yerevan might be interesting.

Suggests Italy will fair best on Jury and Public vote. I'm not convinced tbh.

I have to say Europapa is the one with the momentum, is gaining cult following and reviews of his live performance are good. It's also definitely a grower and now my firm fav.

The UK are currently 20th out of 37 entries which doesn't bode terribly well...

Right, I've revised.
I like, in no particular order, Azerbaijan, Germany, Spain, Ukraine and UK (but not sure how well Germany or Spain will poll, despite electro pop "Vixen", a reclaimed slur, being top 5 in home country)
I think Italy will do well
I quite like Poland but not sure about her vocals live
I dislike Ireland, Lithuania, Moldova and Sweden

I' done my full listen, relisten and watch videos (though they don't always equate to staging), and ranked them all from 1 to 37!

The bookies and I are in agreement that the top 3 are Croatia, Italy and Switzerland.

The bookies and I disagree on Greece (it just doesn't spark anything in me), and Denmark (I love it, strong song with a good singer who is not a Scantily Clad Whalloper TM).

I have Ireland qualifying, but only because there are at least 11 songs I like less.
