Anyone interested in the build up this year? I have been more aware this year as the songs are announced. I like Croatia, Ireland and Finland. Dizzy is hopefully going to do well which makes it exciting - Olli Alexander should be good performing live and he is well known in Europe.

Just reading about the controversy with Israel’s entry and I see that Iceland might send a Palastinian singer.

Ukraine have been the favourites for a while but Croatia is just ahead of them now.

I really love that the Beeb has finally embraced Eurovision and the presenters are now true fans.

It always winds me up that the Big 5 don't get a full outing on TV until the Saturday night. I even wrote to the EBU about it. No reply. Bastards.

Would you rather get rid of the big 5 concept and go through semifinals?

I think it would be better to go through the semi finals. More exposure to the song and if it’s awful you leave with a bit more dignity. At least if you come last in the Grand final having got through the semi you have achieved something.

Olly’s song sounds like “ooh baby baby, it’s a wild world.” Cat Stevens is it? It definitely sounds like something I’ve already heard.

I hope we see something of Mans in Malmo. He isn’t presenting it sadly.

That was one of my faves in 2021. He was winning after the jury vote. Then it completely changed.

"Controversial" is indeed a word for Ireland's entry.

I hope people listen to it a few times before the actual event. The first encounter left me a bit floored but it has grown a little on me since then.

Absolutely not (we'd never get through!) but given the Big 5 pay more, they should get the same exposure as all the other acts as they've all been heard at least once all the way through (plus recaps) before Saturday night.

Oh lordy, he says the staging is going to be dramatic rather than his happy-go-lucky persona. Everyone loved Smiley Sam Ryder. He should be giving smiley, bah. "I want to be memorable and surprise people. The performance is going to be strong with a lot of drama and impact."

It worries me that there's a vocoder on the recording - they are used to cover dodgy vocals.
