I loved it the first time.

I loved it even more the second time.

Lesley Manville is fantastic.
Lisa McGrillis is so brilliant as Kelly - she's got the character to a tee, I love her!

Anyone else want to join in my love fest?!?

I agree.

CantFindTheBeat · 28/02/2024 19:12

Yey!

It's so well acted by all of the cast.

I've watched it all through twice.
I love Lesley Manville in this.

OddBoots · 28/02/2024 19:15

I've watched it twice through in the past and now I am tempted to watch again.

ImDuranDuran · 28/02/2024 19:41

It's one of my ultimate comforts.

The scene in the last series where Michael declares his love for Cathy in the rain and tells her he'd wait forever is so underrated, I wish he'd won something for that scene alone. Amazing acting.

notthesamename · 28/02/2024 19:45

Great suggestion! I’m in!

stickybear · 28/02/2024 19:56

I loved it too and would love to rewatch! I loved the snobby sister in law (?), I remember she had a brilliant line about what wine she would drink Grin is it on the iPlayer? It disappeared for a while

TruthThatsHardAsSteel · 28/02/2024 20:00

Ohhh I loved this. It surprised me, it looked so.... Bland on appearances but it was amazing

LampHat · 28/02/2024 20:04

Three times here. A fourth might be a bit mental 🙃

Lesley Manville is perfect in it.

LaBelleSauvage123 · 29/02/2024 22:54

Oh I loved it. So many great moments. The ending was sublime. The cast are all still great friends apparently - I saw an Insta post showing them all out for a Christmas meal together.

LaBelleSauvage123 · 29/02/2024 22:55

I’ve seen the whole thing twice too.

Fucketyfecketyfoo · 29/02/2024 23:04

I loved it from start to finish. The writing, the acting- my god some of those silences… I think it is very undervalued.

Nomorecoconutboosts · 29/02/2024 23:07

I think it’s very cleverly written
I’ve watched it several times, each time I pick up another angle or bit I hadn’t noticed.
Such dry comments from Reg ‘they’re cleaning their teeth - at night?!’

Nomorecoconutboosts · 29/02/2024 23:08

Love the bit when Kelly finally lets slip about the baby. I love that although they all realise, they give her the space to say it her way.

SammyScrounge · 29/02/2024 23:11

I'll watch it now after seeing your reviews. I love Lesley too!

MrsJamin · 01/03/2024 04:22

Twice here. If watch it again! It's a gem of a piece, everyone has reasons why they can be a bit of an arse. Mum just soaks up alll of their foibles... Until she doesn't. Leslie manville is so great in this "alright, love" whenever Kelly says something she shouldn't. The moment when Kelly's mum says something unexpectedly beautiful and loving... It was just so well done.

HarryBlackberry1 · 01/03/2024 05:53

Where can I find Mum? Has it recently been put on BBC player? I looked for it everywhere a while back. Love it!

WildFlowerBees · 01/03/2024 06:47

Love Lesley Manville I wish she was on our screens more. Will also rewatch Mum.

Passthepickle · 01/03/2024 06:49

It’s perfection.

Gummybear23 · 01/03/2024 06:52

Never watched it. Feel liked I should.

Eddielizzard · 01/03/2024 07:01

I'm going to have to watch it a third time. Brilliant tv. So sensitive

xanthippe8 · 01/03/2024 07:05

It's truly sublime, some of the characters come across as unlikeable, but as it unfolds you get to understand them. Pauline is magnificent!

Ohhelppp · 01/03/2024 07:07

Oh I love it so much. Only watched it once so might have to go again. DH and I still do a Kelly impression “oh Michael, you’re so funnaaaaay”
DH said I look a bit like Leslie Manville the other day and I was THRILLED ☺️

Ohhelppp · 01/03/2024 07:08

I loved how it was all so gentle and funny and then it would get you with a sucker punch to the gut and you’re bawling your eyes out. So brilliantly written, cast and performed.
