Not yet but saw a clip for it and think I'll give it a go. Have you seen it yet?

4intheCorner · 26/02/2024 21:47

I am. Shocked at some of the jury comments and victim blaming .

Me too. So misogynistic. Shocking how some people think.

Me. The utter misogyny being shown is absolutely shocking! So many angry men.. laughing about a woman who’s got children with different fathers. What were Channel 4 thinking!

FiveFoxes · 26/02/2024 21:49

Me too. Surely people don't actually say things like that in real life Shock

bows101 · 26/02/2024 21:49

Yes, I have NC for this as I also knew the victim.

Snozzlemaid · 26/02/2024 21:50

Yes! A real eye opener for sure, how some of the men are trying to find any way they can to excuse the defendant's actions.
But refreshing that the young 19 year old lad didn't agree with them.
There's hope the younger generation of males have a better view of women.

It’s almost as if the producers have given each juror a crib card of what sort of a person they want them to come across as - knob, bully, idiot, DV victim, younger feminist. The stereotypes are alarming.

Yes on episode 1. Quite intriguing. Seems similar to a theatre show. Murder trial tonight where we all voted on a ' real case' . Only this is two separate jurys.

And the comment about how he'd probably had enough of living in an untidy house! As if that's a reason to kill her.
Absolutely shocking.

Exactly what I thought.

I started it but have had to give up as I was getting too annoyed at some of those comments. 'But he must have had a reason'. Er.... I'm sure every murderer has a reason - it's still murder!

That guy is an absolute arsehole

Chocolatecoveredshitpig · 26/02/2024 21:56

That guy in the green top is an absolute fucking disgrace. Revolting pig - I pity any woman in his life. It's actually terrifying to think how many vile misogynists like this are strutting around, genuinely convinced that their way of thinking is justified.

Snozzlemaid · 26/02/2024 21:57

Aw but he loved her.
This is infuriating to watch.

iwannacoolrider · 26/02/2024 21:59

I'm watching, In my experience a lot of people victim blame when talking about crimes. I'm really curious to see if they change their mind as the trial goes on.

I agree.

It really is!! 'Aw, I feel sorry for him...'
Fucking hell, there's some dense people around. The fact they're allowed to sit on juries is terrifying and infuriating in equal measure.

Newtonianmechanics · 26/02/2024 22:00

I mean I am all for hearing all of the evidence but that guy in the green shirt. Just wow.

OP posts:
4intheCorner · 26/02/2024 22:01

In a real courtroom you wouldn't hear of the jurors biases, thoughts and comments. Yet here they are showing themselves up on national TV. I wonder what their family and friends think 🤔

WobblyLondoner · 26/02/2024 22:03

I missed the start - did they say what information had been given to the people on the juries? I assume they know they aren't actually on a real trial?

I stuck with the programme as it's a topic I'm really interested in but agree some of the comments were shocking - how quickly people are willing to reach a conclusion.

I was on a jury (many years ago) and can't say I've seen anything yet that isn't in line with that.

Newtonianmechanics · 26/02/2024 22:03

In reallufe are they allowed to discuss cases before they have heard the evidence from both sides?

OP posts:
Newtonianmechanics · 26/02/2024 22:04

I am gobsmacked at some of the jurors comments. Particularly the man in the green top. A complete lack of awareness that these comments are sexist and victim blaming...openly saying them to a group of strangers never mind knowing you're being filmed for TV!

I really hope there's a twist at the end where we fund out some of the jurors are plants of some form.
