Sorry about the unimaginative thread title!

I wish Colin had got to eat the stop watch dish.

BiliousOhGod · 22/02/2024 20:58

Nice high scores! Thankfully....

Feeling rather sorry for Larkin - they haven’t really liked anything he’s made

I’m not, he seems to have been quite arrogant in ignoring feedback - and now his bao buns aren’t even going to look like shots, they’re going to be like giant zits!

(Surely he must have rehearsed with the charcoal to know it wasn’t going to work?)

littlbrowndog · 22/02/2024 20:58

Aw poor Larkin

That true

youmustrememberthis · 22/02/2024 20:59

Corrin deserved to win but feel bit sorry for Larkin his food was good too.

EsmaCannonball · 22/02/2024 20:59

We've got Northern Ireland, the South West and the North West left. Let's hope there's someone really exciting.

littlbrowndog · 22/02/2024 20:59

Hopefully Esma

He did make some changes to his starter adding crispy texture as Lisa suggested and taking the pork out of his main

but the bao buns looked horrid & really he should have changed the whole thing

Sarvanga38 · 22/02/2024 21:02

I wish we got to see all the scores in this round.

littlbrowndog · 22/02/2024 21:03

We did just at end. They showed scores on each round

Just on a few dishes though - two for each chef?

AnneShirleysNewDress · 22/02/2024 21:21

@Sarvanga38 He said yeaterday it had worked with charcoal when he'd tested it. Lisa asked him to add ice and lemon to the tea which he did but the bao bun was never going to win the dessert course.

Sunbird24 · 22/02/2024 22:22

Just got in, guessing from the thread that Corrin won.
I’ve had moules marinières, porchetta with mash and roasted carrots, and an affogato. (And a small glass of wine!) Nothing exactly banquety but at least none of it sat on a rock or squirted at me!

Ducksinthebath · 23/02/2024 07:05

While Corrin was clearly better on the day, nothing looked like a banquet dish. Maybe the pigeon was best of a pretty poor bunch.

I didn’t think it was fair to criticise Larkin’s fish course for being backward looking with no real connection to the current Games when Corrin’s main was in the same position and not a thing was said about that.

SpttyMaldoon · 23/02/2024 08:49

Final scores

Corrin: 28, 33, 27, 39
Larkin: 33, 24, 28, 27

so in all, Corrin won by a big margin because of the desert, all other scores cancel each other out.

NeedWineNow · 23/02/2024 09:02

I think the sense of camaraderie and calmness in the kitchen made it an easier watch this week but agree that none of the dishes looked banquet worthy (especially when you think of dishes in previous series). I'd have to have a veggie option of pigeon was anywhere near the menu 😓

MotherJohnMisty · 23/02/2024 09:39

I was quite cross watching last night.
None of Corrin's dishes were banquet dishes and Tom giving a 10 for his dessert when it could fit in the palm of his hand 🤷‍♀️

If his whole menu got to the banquet everyone would be stopping off at the chippy on the way home, every dish was tiny, I was laughing at the size of the bowls!

Larkin wasn't amazing either, but at least people would have been fed!

jay55 · 27/02/2024 20:01

Evening. I'm quite peckish, so I hope there are some good dishes.

Sunbird24 · 27/02/2024 20:01

I’m over halfway down a big bar of Dairy Milk…

We had chicken dahnsack. Was pretty good

Sunbird24 · 27/02/2024 20:04

Wasn’t Dan’s Sack a thing on one of the Masterchefs? Or am I imagining things?

EsmaCannonball · 27/02/2024 20:04

Andy's apron looks like he's one of those cooking over flames guys.

jay55 · 27/02/2024 20:04

A plant based chef, he wil be under pressure in round one.

littlbrowndog · 27/02/2024 20:05

And Morrisons clay oven Nan bread as was on offer. Best Nan bread ever from a supermarket
