Place marking

I thought Sean seemed genuinely upset after confronting Dylan, he played it well, he looked shocked, horrified, disappointed and really sad all at once. The baddie better not be George, if it is I am done with Corrie for good.

Jitterybugs · 20/02/2024 10:03

It’s heart wrenching to witness Liam’s suffering. It brings a lump to my throat looking at his anxious, frightened little face. Gary has shown amazing self restraint so far. The old Gary would have Mason bound and gagged in the boot of a car.

Risun · 20/02/2024 10:13

A storyline we really care about makes a nice change. Good acting from the young'uns.

SwankyPants · 20/02/2024 10:27

I thought Shaun was great last night. Makes a change to see him do something else other than the head twist

That was funny and when he said to Lauren "I'm beginning to like you, I think I'll kill your last!" David has some great lines.

I liked this line too!

Hellendegenerate · 20/02/2024 11:05

Sean's horror and anguish was played well by the actor. A pity it's a rare event to see him do some decent acting.

I agree with PPs that Deedee being true to her faith is refreshing. It's certainly more than we get from Saint Billy!

Saint Billy managed to punch someone without any reference to his Christianity afterwards, nor has there been any comeback from the Church about their archdeacon getting into bar room brawls - somebody would have mentioned it to them!

I wish they would move Dylan and him into their own flat so they could have more scenes together. It seemed a bit ridiculous talking about something so private with Eileen and George earwigging and commenting.

greengreengrass25 · 20/02/2024 12:05

Did none of the household notice Mason knocking last night

Hellendegenerate · 20/02/2024 12:40

@zanahoria

I agree but where would that flat be?!

Oh hang on. They find vacant flats which need no admin/references/deposits, at the drop of a hat on Corrie. 😟

Lorrymum · 18/02/2024 13:40

The whole DeeDee discovering religion is a bit contrived. Never, ever mentioned before in any conversation with anyone!

I thought this ! Unless I've missed something it has come out of nowhere

Eastie77Returns · 20/02/2024 17:30

So Sean can act. Is the actor gay IRL? His anger and disappointment seemed so heartfelt as if he was channeling real life experience of homophobic bullying. It’s a shame his name always comes up on the “horrible/rude celebs you’ve met” threads on MN.

Maybe I’ve misremembered this but a few weeks back when Ed was in DeeDee’s flat one morning did Joel not appear from the bedroom? I suppose there could have been 2 bedrooms but I thought the suggestion was that he’d spent the night with DeeDee 🤷‍♀️

zanahoria · 20/02/2024 18:02

Sarje mentioned that DeeDee was Christian when he visited.

what happened to him?

Paul also said he had been to church with DeeDee

WiddlinDiddlin · 20/02/2024 18:12

DeeDees flat - theres a bathroom down the hallway too, think thats where he came from.

Anthony Cotton is gay, and yes, I suspect that was from experience, not much else would get through the botox! He's not particularly nice, wasn't at school, wasn't around the village in the late 90s/early 2000s and by all accounts, still isn't.

HurdyGurdy19 · 20/02/2024 18:26

Just watched last night's episode, and I think that the whole bullying storyline has been written and acted so well. It's not been a short sharp PC storyline, but has slowly built up over time, and has shown so well how poor Liam has had to live with this over an extended period of time.

I am pleased, but also saddened as to the reality, that they haven't got Liam straight into CAMHS, but are highlighting the ridiculous waiting times to be seen and how parents are having to consider private therapy for their children.

I think Antony/Sean was brilliant when he confronted Dylan and the messages seen on his phone. I felt that especially when he said that he was ashamed of Dylan, and was choked up, that that was from the heart, and not just acting.

lollipoprainbow · 20/02/2024 18:50

I thought Sean's acting was awful last night!

Its good they were realistic about the waiting times on this occasion.

When Hope was diagnosed with some kind of behavioural issue a few years back, I remember Fizz found help and a residential place for both of them to stay within a single day😭 I know the actress had to be written out as she was pregnant but the storyline was ridiculous. Hope was misbehaving one day and then packed off for live-in therapy in Birmingham the next.

zanahoria · 20/02/2024 19:14

Hope had cancer and recovered in a few weeks

I must have blinked and missed that although I rarely watch these days. Most people diagnosed with a serious illness on Corrie are fine within a couple of weeks. The last time I watched an episode with Hope she was selling books about her serial killer dad which made me chuckle. She’s definitely another mini-psycho/David Platt in the making.

Lorrymum · 21/02/2024 20:12

Im sure Alya is pregnant. She looks slightly puffy and thought I saw a large baby bump!

Yes the actor is gay in real life. And I agree that he gave a really good performance. Nice to see the actor actually doing a good part/good role.

SweetBirdsong · 21/02/2024 20:44

I am also really liking Bobby! (Played by Jack Carroll.) I didn't see that coming! 😬
