New drama for 3weeks on a Monday night

got a good cast imo

The official synopsis for the drama says that it "tells the story of an ordinary family caught up in an extraordinary chain of events that ripple out from their home town".

The synopsis continues: "Ambitious, powerful and surprising, The Way taps into the social and political chaos of today’s world by imagining a civil uprising which begins in a small industrial town.

"Fleeing unrest, The Driscolls are forced to escape the country they’ve always called home and the certainties of their old lives.

Will they be overwhelmed by their memories of the past, or will they lay their ghosts to rest and take the risk of an unknown future?

"The Way is an emotional and darkly humorous story about what it means to be faced with impossible choices."

The Way features an absolutely stacked cast, led by Steffan Rhodri (Gavin & Stacey (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/comedy/gavin-stacey-star-mathew-horne-cliffhanger-exclusive-newsupdate/)), Mali Harries (The Archers (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/the-archers-rob-titchener-dies-newsupdate/)), Sophie Melville (The Pact (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/pact-season-3-release-date/)) and Callum Scott Howells (It's a Sin (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/sci-fi/nathaniel-curtis-doctor-who-newsupdate/)).

Other actors who make appearances in the series include director Michael Sheen (

On now it's finished!!

So they are the most wanted family. On cctv and news everywhere but no one thinks to check her sisters house as her sister is "passing" for English!

ThreeFeetTall · 05/03/2024 20:42

Yes I'm not sure about that, or the fact it all took place over a month!

I thought the idea of nostalgia being comforting as the past can't be changed and is therefore 'safe' was good, but preferred it when that was made by someone reacting to a snippet of video in the street rather than being spelt out by a rotting crazy eyed teddy bear Confused

I think the writers were working through some past trauma they had around Chitty Chitty bang bang and the Freemasons!

feelingalittlehorse · 05/03/2024 20:57

I actually found the ending a bit of a let down. But I’m not sure why.

I actually did enjoy it though- it was very different, not your usual drab drama.

SecondUsername4me · 05/03/2024 22:19

Is Chris Evans about to be declared bankrupt? I can't think of any reason he agreed to do this.

Tinysoxxx · 05/03/2024 22:23

Chris Evans?!?
Tbf it wouldn’t have surprised me if Captain America made an appearance but are you sure you mean Chris Evans??
Didn't even see the ex-piper Evans.

SecondUsername4me · 05/03/2024 22:25

Oops. Luke Evans.

Point still stands though Grin

Tinysoxxx · 06/03/2024 10:13

Ahh yes, Gaston! I was waiting for him to sing about decorating his house with antlers (ref to Beauty and Beast for those whose children weren’t obsessed with singing said film score).

Chrisaldridge · 10/03/2024 22:08

Sheesh - I had one hour to watch tv - one of the about 4 I get a week. Saw a trailer on Facebook and chose this over Brookside! Big mistake. It’s like a bunch of 15 year olds got too big a budget for their drama gcse, looked up every cliche of dystopian/thriller genres then chucked it in to the melting pot. I now have a morbid curiosity of how much worse this can get!

Tinysoxxx · 10/03/2024 23:51

You have to keep going for the child catcher/ welsh snatcher.

candgen625 · 12/03/2024 07:34

When they randomly throw in a swingers party! That's the high point

No!!!! You’re kidding me aren’t you to get me to waste more valuable tv viewing hours on this! Aren’t you???

candgen625 · 12/03/2024 12:21

I wish I was joking. It's the sister so ashamed of being Welsh!!!! That she passes for English!!! They have a swingers party for no reason at all

Tinysoxxx · 12/03/2024 12:37

The swingers scene I forgot! Georgia Tennant who I have only seen in Staged appeared which was so weird if you know the premise of Staged. I was half expecting her to speak to the camera at Michael Sheen directing.

Chrisaldridge · 12/03/2024 21:38

Oh my god! Why did no one mention the talking teddy? PMSL So many highlights ‘F off Taffys’, ‘We need to act English’ and the yellow brick road. it’s the gift that just keeps on giving.

Tinysoxxx · 12/03/2024 23:30

They threw everything at it didn’t they?!

candgen625 · 13/03/2024 08:19

Having safe routes out of wales after 24 days was another high point. Those people where organised

Tinysoxxx · 13/03/2024 11:37

Also the sword at the end. His son just threw it away and went back to Port Talbot. So negating everything his dad had done to help. So was it surrender the sword to the waves (but in reality fairly easy for someone else to find and profit from) but go back to fight? The two actions didn't make sense. I would be mightily cheesed off if I was Dave Coaches. That sword was heavy to carry.

Chrisaldridge · 13/03/2024 22:54

😂The orgy! And that’s a wrap as they say!

That said I admired her wrap dress a lot. That's what I took from that scene

I thought that was a dressing gown??? She was way more orgy ready than the other woman - those tight trousers looked like they would be tricky to get off. Good job the family arrived when they did.

ThreeFeetTall · 14/03/2024 21:08

It reminded me that it's a good idea to make sure you get curtains when you do your kitchen extension Confused

ThreeFeetTall · 14/03/2024 21:10

@Tinysoxxx Dave Coaches! 😂😂
