I liked the way Nigel and his daughter were just like hello, no drama or tears. When my dad was alive it was completely normal for us not to see each other for a few weeks at a time and we managed not to spontaneously combust at the sight of each other even after a while!

Yep. I had a lump in my throat because I missed my late dad because he would have been like Nigel was. In fact I still have a big lump in my throat now....

In fairness, I'm not a emotional person in that way but when I did a 24hr trek with my mum, we were both in bits when we saw the kids and husbands at the end. I think it's a release of emotions after the build up and the exhaustion
