See this Fred thing... he likes cooking, and it seems he was making nice meals, so just let him do it 🤷‍♀️ If you have the power to make someone happy, do it.

This is why I didn't like Nella, she's a mean soul. The way she targetted Fred and Nigel was unsettling - it felt like she was setting them up for the fall.

I just had a look on the ITV FB page for I’m a Celeb there are 10k comments most are bad not seen any positive.

I’m v glad she has gone she did herself no favours at all her behaviour was all recorded …which she seemed surprised about at her exit interview with A&D.

The food in the jungle is scarce and they are all hungry, very hungry.

Fred is a trained chef he knows how to cook.

He was only removed out of spite by camp leader Nella, she said that she wanted to get him back.

The cooking would be better for them all if he’d been able to carry on.

I made the point about Nella’s surprise upthread. I think that generation are used to editing everything to show themselves in the best possible light - she did also mention that the shots they used ‘were not her best angles’. I think she’s been so used to presenting her edited self to a whole group of adoring followers, she lost sight of how she is in reality. It is quite sad really. But as a pp mentioned, if you dish it out, you need to be able to take it back. If you spend your time calling everyone out for perceived slights, you also need to check your own behaviour. This is not a race thing IMO, but a generational thing.

Exactly - but moreso, you can see the situation is making him proper sad; the sadness is all over his face.
I'll be honest and say I didn't want to like Nigel, but he's the only one who has picked up on Fred's hurt, and is showing him kindness (bearing in mind, Fred has been sore on Nigel!).

She needs to lie down a lot.

I've been following and not joined in. I completely agree with you.

Even if Fred had been prevented as being next chef per the rules (and that's been hidden from us for some reason)

Which of us, put in charge when we can't cook much, wouldn't ask him to mentor us -tell us about timings and how he did stock or whatever?

I can’t cook for toffee so in that situation especially where food is scarce and everyone is hank …you’d ask for help when it’s on tap!

I think it's one thing to say Nellas behaviour was unacceptable and made her difficult to like. It's totally different to call her rancid, vile etc and my word, what's being posted on twitter is shocking.

It's a heavily edited show and yes the events did happen but she's clearly liked in camp. People saying she never rubs up against people outside of her circle seem to be the ones that are the most judgemental.

I was not impressed with her rant at Fred way back at the start and was irritated that it seemed to me that the producers had a word with her to give her the chance to redeem herself - irritated because they haven't done that with other camp mates over the years but let them dig themselves bigger and bigger holes. Why the change here?
If one leaves aside the controversial nature of the debate with Nigel, the bottom line is she just shouted over him and wouldn't let him speak.
Annoying but not the worst crime of the century. There were quite a few other times in the footage where I think she came across as likeable.
I think ITV were trying to engineer her to become the nation's darling, with a lucrative career ahead of her on mainstream TV. It looks like that won't be happening now.

Fred hasn't done himself any favours with how he's acted. I wouldn't be inclined to ask someone for help that mansplained, talked over me and was incredibly rude (calling Josie kitchen nightmares for example.)

Of course Josie isn't as good a cook, but she clearly can cook well enough. I don't know how she bit her tongue when Fred said "take it off the heat when it's cooked" and she just laughed and said "well, obviously I will."

It's not just with the cooking though, it's Fred's character to be egocentric and obnoxious. He did it when he shouted over Nigel after asking him a question and not letting him answer, he did it last night announcing he's the one that would be doing the trial and not letting anyone else speak.

I'm not a huge fan of Josie, but I think she's being a saint in the face of Fred. Other people in there are commenting how she is handling herself well with him so they can obviously see it.

I thought Fred came across very badly in that exchange too, about the trial. He was trying to railroad everyone and ignore the "rule" about everyone stating their case by saying it was "decided" he would be doing it when it hadn't been decided by anyone apart from him. Good on the others, Tony in particular, for calling him out on it.
But he got his way. Forceful people often do.

Fred has a controlling and entitled to cook side. Not good. I didn't like it when Nella laid in to him at the start of the programme but it doesn't negate the fact he's since been a pain if he doesn't cook. If he's fed up and sad because he's not cooking it's not someone else's responsibility.

Someone saying that Nigel has shown kindness to another camp mate is not the same as saying their politics are OK.
I hated him for Brexit and UKIP but I can acknowledge that he is coming over as calm, measured and a good team player here. Is that the real him? No idea but I do think it's quite hard to play a game 24/7 in those camp conditions.

They should have pulled her out after the first spat which showed her immaturity.
