Alex has.

What I wouldn't give to have him berate me like that. Cor.

Last weeks was a bit meh, but I'm looking foward to tonight..

keepcalmandcarryon · 13/03/2008 22:05

not bad tonight - did like the bit where Alex pinched the car and also the part where he broke through the plate glass window in his cowboy boots...

SueBaroo · 13/03/2008 22:07

Oh come on. Did no-one watch it???

OP posts:
SueBaroo · 13/03/2008 22:08

oo, x-post...

I was purring at a number of points, I have to say.

keepcalmandcarryon · 13/03/2008 22:26

btw did you read the interview (in the Sat Tel I think) where PG said that the motivation behind his character was that in the moment he first saw her, he wanted desperately to shag her, but also knows he never will?!

Having met my DH in the (LATE!!!) 80's we do have a mutual enjoyment of the programme. Not sure he appreciates quite how much I like Gene, hmmmhnnn... although when I was going up a ladder in front of DH the other day DH did come up with a very convincing Bolly Knickers type response.

and this is a nice link if you haven't already seen it.

Roll on next week.

JackieNo · 13/03/2008 22:29

Yup - I enjoyed it too. The (almost) 'kiss of life' bit especially.

SueBaroo · 13/03/2008 22:38

Oh yes. He's 'dreamt about doing' that.

Ah, me too, me too.

But on a less pure lust note, What's with him being in her bed?... Well, ok, that's not quite moved away from pure lust, but on a plot level, what's that all about, I wonder..

OP posts:
JackieNo · 13/03/2008 22:39

I assumed it was just that she fancied him subconsciously. But he looked a bit rumpled (and not in the usual good way) from the glimpse I got of him.

procrastinatingparent · 13/03/2008 22:45

Definitely an implication that something a little more definite was on the cards...

Sense she is starting to fancy him a bit more this week. And who wouldn't compared to beardy Evan? Can't get him at all.

JackieNo · 13/03/2008 22:46

I agree, PP. I wonder whether beardy is going to turn out to be involved in her parents' murder.

keepcalmandcarryon · 13/03/2008 22:47

I actually thought he looked more than rumpled, more like, dead? Is that what they were going for in the trailers for next week?

WARNING TO BBC: Do NOT kill Gene Hunt. He is a force for life and slightly-baggy-faced-unreconstructed-alpha-males-sexiness everywhere. The Women of Britain would be deeply saddened.

And let's face it, if Gene Hunt and Gordon Ramsey were up against one another, we all know who would win...

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 13/03/2008 22:47

Oh God, I so would. I really would.

[frustrated emoticon}

JackieNo · 13/03/2008 22:48

Gene, I hope.

NOo - not him, kill off someone minor. Or maybe it's her parents. Or someone who's introduced next week. But not Gene. They wouldn't - would they?

JackieNo · 13/03/2008 22:49

(the 'Gene, I hope' was to who would win in a fight between him and Gordon Ramsay, btw)

MrsGordonRamsay · 13/03/2008 22:51

And let's face it, if Gene Hunt and Gordon Ramsay were up against one another, we all know who would win...

I know who I should want to win, and I know who I want to win.

JackieNo · 13/03/2008 22:52

Divided loyalties, eh, MrsGR?

SueBaroo · 13/03/2008 22:56

I want them to kill off Shaz. Because they can't kill off Ray or Chris, they're fab. So funny.

Bree, you and me both. [frustrated]

Moistened gussets a go-go.

I'm all class, me.

SueBaroo · 13/03/2008 23:03

3 minutes to his sexual peak, how about it... and she went off with EVAN??

Quite frankly the woman deserves to be left in the ruddy deep-freeze.

policywonk · 13/03/2008 23:09

What did it say on the note they fished out of GH's bin? DP insisted on talking about DS1's parents' evening at that point, selfish pig

SueBaroo · 13/03/2008 23:14

It didn't say anything, Gene had done a rude doodle of himself and Alex.

OP posts:
SueBaroo · 13/03/2008 23:14

Who am I trying to kid with the , eh?

He'd done it earlier in the episode and chucked it in the bin when Alex walked in.

OP posts:
policywonk · 13/03/2008 23:34

ta.

FWIW your impersonation of a blushing virgin was totally convincing.

madamez · 13/03/2008 23:57

Yesssss. I hve not been liking this nearly as much as LOM but I did have a little wriggle to myself during the rescue-from-freezer moment. Oh, and the moment when he kicked the bin over in his office....

(Bad madamez bad - I generally like wussy boys who need a good spanking...)

booge · 14/03/2008 09:29

Series 2 is being made so I guess Gene isn't heading for the pearly gates just yet.

SueBaroo · 14/03/2008 10:07

Oh, as if they'd kill Gene Hunt. He's the reason for the series.

I'm now going to The Railway Arms to read fanfic. I may be some time
