Not sure which number we’re on now - 7?
In time for a Christmas special too, though last year’s will take some beating!

Now that's a fucking party

charabang · 14/11/2023 18:46

Beyond excited! I love love this programme. Remembering Christine spending her points in the coffee shop by treating everyone to a panini last Christmas 🙂

Excellent - love Two Doors Down.

Might watch from the start in preparation. 😂

Article in Radio Times about this programme. Enjoy it and record (if you can) cos it's likely to be the last (spoiler alert) It's one of the best programmes on the TV

I did wonder if it might be after the death of Simon Carlyle 🙁

I miss Pat over the back.

I miss Pat over the back.

She’s one of those never seen yet unforgettable characters isn’t she, like Beverley Macca and Maris Crane 😂

Cathy’s back!

DiDonk · 23/11/2023 16:13

I think they should've stopped after season 2, it's still been good, but less so each time round, I mean how many times would you have those people in your house, even in a sitcom?

Fergie51 · 23/11/2023 16:20

I know Cathy is back, but I also thought the storyline with Anne Marie was developing so well and she was brilliant.

I really liked Anne Marie, and was glad to see the back of Cathy.

I preferred Anne Marie to Cathy as well.

doitwithlove · 24/11/2023 18:58

🎉🎉🎉. Looking forward to 9.30pm

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 24/11/2023 19:22

Can’t they have both Anne Marie and Cathy? Cathy gets a new house in the street (half funded by her divorce settlement from Colin) moves a new man like Colin in who looks after her (so she doesn’t have to work) and she can spit fire at Anne Marie and Colin or flirt with Colin.

I miss Sophie, where are the new health-kick health care neighbours with the doughnut drama? And I liked Cathy but only because she was just so vile! I thought she clashed well with Michelle, I mean she and Michelle were speaking after all their dramas though Louise didn’t seem to meet Cathy again!

"All episodes now available on iplayer" announcement at the end of the 1st episode.
So thats the rest of my evening gone.

Sodie · 24/11/2023 23:31

Bingewatching the new series now, nothing will top burns supper for me though!

Fergie51 · 24/11/2023 23:47

Disappointing first episode. Should have left Cathy in Egypt.

Wupity · 25/11/2023 04:03

fergie51 yes I was a bit disappointed too. Not sure why they didn’t keep Anne-Marie. I liked her character.

awaynboilyurheid · 25/11/2023 05:43

Sorry disagree I am glad Cathy is back! “And sex with people from Clydebank”?! Terrific lines, love 2 doors down.

Sausagenbacon · 25/11/2023 08:23

I was so disappointed.
It really doesn't work any more. For a start, Beth just wouldn't put up with her. All she does now is wince.
And I can't see the point in the young couple. She is just a young version of Beth.

Wupity · 25/11/2023 08:37

I definitely still found it entertaining but I preferred last series. It wasn’t such a “cathy” show. The other characters are still funny without her

MuckyElbows · 26/11/2023 08:05

I’m disappointed with this season - it just seems to be missing something. Cathy is my favourite character so I’m glad she’s back but it just doesn’t feel right this time around? Barely managed one laugh in the first episode and although the season got better as it went on it still wasn’t as funny as it used to be.
I love Alan but even he seems different!?

Alan is definitely different. Quieter and non offensive. I noticed he referenced his brother’s wedding (they’re separated now?) though.

Personally for me I’d have liked to have seen Louise back and the new health kick neighbours and also Anne Marie, if only to see her clash with Cathy!

Yeah I was hoping for an Anne-Marie / Cathy clash! So much potential there but instead it was a straight swap of characters with barely a mention!

All the characters seemed watered down apart from Ian who has grown much more irritating and unlikable!

TheChosenTwo · 26/11/2023 23:32

I liked Alan so much more this series, he seemed a bit warmer and friendlier.
bit disappointing that Cathy came back and after the first episode just slipped back into normal life.
i didn’t like the character of Anne Marie but her and Colin were a more likeable pairing.
Cathy is so jarring.
I thought Ian and Gordon seemed on the brink of splitting up, ian has always irritated me, all he seems to do is gurn.
Beth is such a placid doormat, she does my head in. Gordon’s parents are a terrible addition.
love Christine as always.
