I got a bit soppy watching tonight's when the Taylor's left.

I was also gutted to see Mitch go too as I really loved the character. But it was a sweet ending for them all

What will happen to Bernie now left on her own? Surely she'll get a lot of the blame in their absence. I'm glad she stood up to Keanu and told him some home truths

And yes to Sonia's nightie. She looked like some posh lady from the 1800s

I did love angry and red faced Phil at the end though

Reading all these comments and interesting especially with Rocky/Mitch/Karen going.

I know it’s a soap opera and the actors are paid to act with their scripts but when they’re leaving and they’ve been “forced” like maybe with Karen’s character do you think they still do a good acting job (which means if they’re not killed off they’ve potentially got another way back into EE at some point) or do it because their future work depends on it (reputation) or are they sometimes tempted to think sod em like we would do in normal non acting jobs and not do a good job?!

I dunno, I’ve never liked Lorraine Stanley’s acting style in her part, so can’t judge properly for her. But I thought Roger Griffiths was great.

Feeling smug because I said Karen would go to Spain I too love a furious Phil. I wonder what will happen now about the missing money. I thought Karen did a really good job tonight and I hope they get her back on the square soon.

How is Bernie going to pay the rent on her own?

Dunno why Sonia is interested in babies with Reiss
She never sees or mentions Becky much at all and they have only been together a year

I wish I could fast forward the scenes with the deeply dull duo of Sonia and Reiss, but it’s too fiddly to do on iPlayer and my laptop.

Kathy and Sonia were funny today when Reiss got back and Kathy had thought Debbie might have died !
I agree they are deeply boring and I thought Kathy was going to say ' don't have a child with him '

Doesn’t Felix live with them? I thought it was social housing so housing benefit would cover the rent. Who’s looking after Bailey though? Bernie?

Plus the house has a few bedrooms and Bernie would only get HB for one bedroom because she's a single occupier. I think that's how it works anyway.

The council may want the flat back ? Not sure how it would work out for Bernie

I’m just a bit sad because a mixed race (sorry if that’s the wrong term) couple and kids (though only Keegan and Chantelle were I think) plus grandkids are now out of EE. I liked Mitch’s end line to Keanu saying he always came back after his mistakes. I’m not mixed race but I know a few mixed race couples from older generations and all too often the men are given a bad rap/reputation and accused of not taking responsibility for their kids and baby mothers - in lots of cases this isn’t true anyway.

I hadn’t watched EE in full yet so didn’t realise only Bernie was left, and Felix lives with Whitney doesn’t he?

It was quite sad to hear Kaz saying to Bernie that they moved from the estate with gangs to a flat in a nicer area, I think a few families in real life can relate to that. When Karen and the Taylors moved in of course they looked like the typical asbo family, and they’ve had their ups and downs and settled in.

I quite liked the interplay between Rocky, Mitch and Charlie, it’s nice to see male friendships.

Harv hasn't forgiven Rocky for the fire , but it is nice seeing male friends together

I don’t know why or how Reece is still there, not many on these threads like him (we think he’s a bit suss) and drippy Sonia is even worse.

I was wondering if there’d be a Christmas miracle and Debbie’d wake up, that would put the cat amongst the pigeons. Looks like she’ll either die or survive.

Never liked Sonia
One poster who I haven't seen on the threads for ages used to dream up some lovely death scenes for her ! She is a whiny boring money stealing individual and I Hope Debbie wakes up and takes Reiss with her to where ever they used to live one day and Sonia leaves too

Sonia is Replacement Dot.
She's not a character in her own right.
You could go 'what would Dot do?' and Sonic would do it.

What happens to Mac and Mia ?
There's Gray's Mum but they'd be moving away from school and everything they know .
Bernie could be the interim carer - would she be able to keep the Taylor flat with two dependant child relatives ?

I thought Reiss made an emergency escape as he doesn't want a baby with Sonia and the thought of DTD and providing his sample tomorrow was a bit too real now , so he's bottled out and using Debbie as an excuse ?

Oh Debbie is waking up at some point for sure! Especially given that he's stolen her money

Although in true EE style she'll be up, walking, talking and living on the square in no time. Not like a real life awakening from a coma where it can take years to build up enough muscle mass to walk and months to talk properly

I really hate who Sonia has turned into. She used to be sort of interesting with the Bex/Martin relationship and then the drama with rocky but now as pp said, she's a very bad replacement for dot

@70isaLimitNotaTarget Mac and Mia go with them so just Bernie left in the flat. And agree I think felix lives with Chelsea so no idea who B will afford it all

Yes, I think she could move onto the Square - probably into one of the many properties owned by Jack or the Panesars.

Yep , in a coma for years , so her leg muscles etc would be gone to pot , but able to walk about and able to call Reiss on her still ready to go mobile !
